less resources than china. they need to import a lot of stuff. not much you can do when you're a small island. country has higher quality of life, higher wages (minimum wage is something like 3x higher in taiwan)
> Governments don't care about that because they can afford the premium but if Joey can't get his iPhone there'll be riots
governments are giving these corporations incredibly generous tariffs and tax breaks so countries like usa, uk, australia etc. will turn a blind eye to it because you have all of this money, other people's money, invested into these tech companies. share price must go up! doesn't matter if manufacturing in your country has turned into shit. they're all making money.

A big part of getting job is interpersonal skills, and a lot of that is confidence. So a jeet who is the pinical of the dunnung kruger effect walks right through hr. They are also seen as valuable by corporate as they're not going to expect raises, or really anything. For the same reasons they rko hr they get promoted into management roles, and from there hire their 30 cousins. At this point the company is a lot cause and will never recover. They're really like a virus, it's kinda interesting.

The issue is it's easy to block all the exit nodes on Tor. The genius of the VPNs is that the users become exit nodes automatically. And many of those apps have millions of downloads compared to like a few hundred Tor exit nodes. One thing I've wondered though is why 4chan, CF etc don't install these botnets themselves to find the other IPs. But I think even if you do that they could just do clientA -> server -> clientB so maybe you never get to see the IPs of the other clients in the botnet

yea, these obviously have the "advantage" of being unlisted nodes, so they're harder to detect and block if you need to block proxied/likely-dodgy traffic

At this point, I wont even use any desktop environment on linux if it isn't X11. Even XFCE is dead to me because it has wayland support. I will never support anything wayland based on linux.

thats what happens when you use wayland (protocol) how it was designed to be used (as a single function kiosk type display on top of something else). its actually good and useful that way.

Once I riced i3, I've never needed to do anything further. I also have little to no interest in switching to hyprland or trying anything new. If you aren't building your software from source you have no right to expect any security beyond transport encryption. Signing the APK doesn't mean anything, you just have to trust that signature blindly.

I'll never understand GrapheneOS's autist dev who seems to question everything BUT Google. He seems to focus on technical security but has no interest in privacy. Sandboxing the proprietary Google Play Store is preferable to using a FOSS alternative (either something like Aurora Store to get to the same content, or FDroid for a true alternate set of repos etc) etc. Its really too bad that
>DivestOS
is no longer updated/supported, as it seemed to take the technical improvements and benefits of GrapheneOS but mix them with the features and openness of LineageOS, as well as a wider base of hardware.

Why is a YouTube channel with 1K subscribers allowed to upload so many long videos, shouldn’t they have to build trust before being allowed to do that?
>>107717388
>Not my problem.
Either you or someone else has to watch a bunch of ads so that Google can get more storage. When someone buys something they see in an ad Google makes a cut of that sale too, they track people all over the internet to confirm that the ad worked. They probably also have the ability to see if products in physical stores are being purchased, if sales go up in a physical store nearby you then the ad was successful and maybe Google makes a cut of those sales too.
