I have another red led next to rgb one, on mine. but dunno how to configure QMK to enable it, instead of rgb one. take the switch off and check yours, see if there's another one next to rgb one. should be simpler than messing with the whole rgb shit

F1 has two versions
The original model that was Korean exclusive
and the F1-8X v2 that was the most recent group buy featuring a lower front height and copper weights instead of brass

F2-8X V2 is probably just an update to the F2-84

I realized that Linux is very likely to be backdoored by now so I want to switch to a *BSD
What should I know before I try it?
>>
>>107719027
openbsd is perfect for any kind of backdoor since everyone thinks it's niche super secure os meanwhile it has no real uses in server space and enterprises.
so choose hardenedbsd because the rest is unusable anyway

READ THE (temp)WIKI! & help by contributing:
https://igwiki.lyci.de/wiki/Home_server

/hsg/ is about learning and expanding your horizons. Know all about NAS? Learn virtualization. Spun up some VMs? Learn about networking by standing up a OPNsense/PFsense box and configuring some VLANs. There's always more to learn and chances to grow. Think you’re god-tier already? Setup OpenStack and report back.

>What software should I run?
Install Gentoo. Or whatever flavor of *nix is best for the job or most comfy for you. Jellyfin/Emby/Plex to replace Netflix, Nextcloud to replace Googlel, Ampache/Navidrome to replace Spotify, the list goes on. Look at the awesome self-hosted list and ask.

>Why should I have a home server?
De-botnet your life. Learn something new. Serving applications to yourself, your family, and your frens feels good. Put your tech skills to good use for yourself and those close to you. Store their data with proper availability redundancy and backups and serve it back to them with a /comfy/ easy to use interface.

Honestly, now I kind of want to see Discworld's take on 'AI assistants' with fayfolk-in-a-can.
Pratchett already kind of did it with the compact camera in the first volume, The Color of Magic, that started off the whole series - but I feel you could get REALLY creative with the whole thing involving also centralized AI (you're going to need to create an analogy to WiFi and server farms. oh my) and there's possibly an entire plotline there with the fayfolk eventually not having it anymore and going on strike.

Also: bugs. Bugs could be literal bugs. As in the device malfunctioning, because the little fairy trapped inside is more than a little bit preoccupied fighting off e.g. a red ant infestation.

How fast can you perform a normal double-click? Wouldn't be surprised if the mouse already has internal corrections for it.
>>
>>107718939
A "normal" double-click, a typical computer user averages between 140 ms and 190 ms for the interval between clicks.
Operating systems like Windows default to a 500 ms (0.5 second) window to ensure accessibility for broader groups such as the elderly or poop-colored "persons."
Experienced users including hardened gamers often land in the 80-150 ms range. In Windows, the fastest double-click setting is usually capped at 200 ms.
When a switch fails (due to oxidation or low wetting current), it may register a "bounce" or second click in a range of about 1-10 ms. This is far away from the 69ms maximum speed that any human has ever achieved an intended double-click with one finger (40ms may be achieve with two fingers).
>>
>>107718566
>>107718939
Just wrote a tester. Best I'm getting is 100ms usually. Occasionally below, perhaps 95ms with high intensity.

Who are these "people"?
I've literally never heard of anyone saying the flatpak is preferable to the native .deb
Some people on immutable OS like Bluefin may consider the flatpak and it's probably fine for the most part but it's literally not the official build from Valve and comes without their support

UI is slow, code isn't modern, and there's less need for it these days with the alternatives. They need to catch up with the times. It was very useful back in the 2000s as xbmc when we had no options, but now it's slowly sinking into irrelevancy as new options like Jellyfin pop up.
