You can never convince me "high end audio" is anything but a scam and buyer's cope
Audio is a solved technology. What can $800 headphones do that $200 ones can't? Not to mention how much an amp and dac would cost for higher end headphones.
This is a much worse problem with speakers too, people will spend thousands for a whole speaker system when they could've just bought much cheaper components and have 95% of the experience for 20% of the cost.

>The cheapest headphones I own still have good sound quality.
My last set was JVC HA-FX1X... Cost me a tenner. Smashed shit like beats. Lasted a decade+ before physical abuse did the cable in... Replacement cost £20 by then, so I got a few...

Went through a few more in rapid succession, all abuse it's unreasonable to expect a cable to withstand, so relucantly went wireless... Even worse, spuked up £250 on some Cambridge Audio Melomania P100SE's. They *are* decent. Is there £230 more sound quality... not really. But they're still working. Tho that's a consequence of the lacking wires, more than the cost - we can get that cheaper. The battery in 'em ... five day slog of on @ 7am and off me head somewhere near 6-9pm took the battery down to 65%. Cheapo's don't offer that.

analog signals can benefit from better cabling etc. because it directly affects the output. The oldtimers were right for their old hardware. It just became obsolete with digital signalling because the noise doesn't impact a digital signal much unless it gets really bad to the point it overshadows the digital signal.

That aside the only real reason i see to pay high prices is if you want something like mahagony audio speaker boxes.
>>
It's funny there have been rejects like OP half-assed "trying" to convince people that there is ZERO difference in audio quality no matter what, all audio reproduction is the same no matter how you do it, for like 20 years. Who pays for this? Is it just Eglin or whatever? Why would they spread such retarded tranny disinfo? Yet here we are, another half-assed driveby thread where OP makes a retarded claim then bails.

It has to be Eglin. Eglin-sisters, explain yourselves. I know you little women are always lurking here. Here I'll call you.

idk man, for my shitty forum backend I set up a channel and worker goroutines that process media uploads in a queue. User would upload file, I validate it, put in DB, push to queue, and respond with a 200. Was a quick and easy way to make the endpoint responsive

yeah unfortunately the 770 pro x which does have a detachable cable (and the same sound signature) has a retarded mini xlr connector rather than 3.5, i don't think boom mics exist with mini xlr but you could find some with an inline mic if that's enough? actually beyer has an official usb-c minixlr cable with a mic but it's stupidly expensive (80€)
if you can't mod them yourself maybe check out customcans? they sell pre-modded dt 770s with whatever connector you like (including 3.5"), but with shipping + uk tax thingy it could cost more than 250€ depending on where you live, not sure if there are other sellers doing the same thing for cheaper or whatnot.

Denuvo seems kind of based to me. It reassures dumb studios who would otherwise delay PC ports by giving semi-effective DRM, but it doesn't seem to impact that much stuff like mods etc. Because it's a subscription it won't hurt game preservation too much since studios will eventually be forced to lift the DRM. And modern games aren't so amazing that you have to play them right away, and honestly, if one is, they fucking earned it. I give up, I just want good games to come out at this point.

The only downside is if studios go bankrupt and leave the only copy of their game with nasty DRM. But it's not unbreakable, so at worst it leaves future autists or AIs with a nifty puzzle and a prize built in
>>
>>107549377
hogwarts is selling now for $4 on steam and they still have denuvo. I think some retard companies will never remove it.

Also its been proven that denuvo costs fps. Its anti-consumer.
>>
>>107549456
>I think some retard companies will never remove it.
Sometimes it's a negotiated contract for how long it'll last.
This thread started off with posting about SEGA, who will probably never room. They were one of the key players in denuvo early on and have some sort of partnership/contract with them that doesn't use the same rates as everyone else.
Other than that, publishers negotiate with it on a title by title basis, we used to see denuvo for a year, then it dropped to 6 months etc. Then there's pubs like SE who release games that don't even have denuvo on some titles.

For SEGA in particular. Something nobody has mentioned is that not only do they keep it for games they leaked accidentally without denuvo like EO, because that would devalue any future updates.
But there's a really, fucking weird one. Yakuza 7 / like a dragon. Is on GoG, DRM free. I shit you not. You can buy it, without denuvo. You can pirate it. On steam? It still has denuvo, same with GFWL / whatever that UWP abomination is.

They don't care, they don't pay for denuvo beyond the initial release, while other publishers are locked into paying "favourable" rates to continue using it months 1-6, and so on.
Remember, if your game gets leaked without denuvo, and you can update it, you still have value, if you keep denuvo attached, even if you intend to remove it at month 12, because you sell the concept of secure and timely updates, and there's also a bunch of people who assume it never got cracked at all, or that it's unsafe (even when it's the publishers error).

Denuvo is the bastard fucking child of securom. Sony deserve to have all their execs beheaded in the streets, and that cunt who killed demos for a decade and a half in the 7th gen attached to the Israeli firm? You betcha.
The industry is rigged, to get suckers, doling out dollars.
>>
>>107551285
>Sony
The toughest versions of Denuvo were developed after Sony ejected them. While it was under Sony it was still easy to automate the cracking process. And literally ZERO Sony games on PC use Denuvo.
