Sorry for the late reply Anon. If you're still there:

1. Sadly, you can't shoot 50MP RAW, it would be interesting to try, though. I hope future software updates will add this options.

2. I didn't try astrophotography yet, though I plan to buy a gimbal with a tripod and try it at least once. I'm usually more interested in daylight shootings, though thanks to the large sensor size, it does pretty good at night, even when using 4.3x zoom lens (but if there are no sources of light at all, camera app lags HEAVILY when switching lenses and is barely usable. I guess it's understandable considering it's not suited for this kind of usage).

And another photo, this time of a lil fella

I appreciate your replies and all of the information, Anon

I have been into photography for a few years now and funnily enough it was because of my phone camera (I started on my S20FE) I got into this hobby and now my Smartphone is my camera. I have to say I'm quite Happy with my S23U that I use right now but It's good to see that other companies are not sleeping and putting out good stuff as well

Definitely do get a tripod though, if you are into this its a must have

I'm a bit surprised though that the X100 series doesn't have the option to shoot 50mp raw, that was one of the big points of the S23U and the new additions in ExpertRaw

Do you have some sort of page/account where I can view more of your stuff?

There are a few but they are minor things, like the soft telephoto camera, 4K non LTPO screen being a drain, unreliable fingerprint reader, software is quite buggy, the screen has black crush and color shift issues, the camera software isn't that good in automatic mode, slow charging, no macro mode, it gets warm quite easily and I think $1000 dollars is too much for a one year old Android phone

I bought an S23 instead of something cheaper and with possibly longer battery life because of the thin even bezels and the compact 6.1inch screen size.
Hell, iPhones have had that since the X back in fucking 2017 when the average phone (including mine at the time) still looked like pic related.
If you're not gonna have a full corner to corner display with thin and even bezels, you might as well add a proper forehead (for the camera and speaker) and chin (for physical nav buttons and front-facing speaker), right?
>>
>>101404312
Not him but bezels are a waste of pocket space.
Phones in 2024 should not be significantly larger than their screens.

I hate big phones
I am absolutely sick of 6"+ phones in my pocket
but the only real solution to that with a modern phone is apple

can iphones also do this?

>Why don't other OSs like lineage just adopt Graphene's tech?

Skill issues. Pajeets develop LineageOS. DivestOS is based on LineageOS, but implements many of the security features Graphene offers. Still, a device with no relockable bootloader & missing firmware updates is a meme and shouldn't be used. /g/ spergs know a little about heartbleed yet can't comprehend that Android devices have their big share of critical firmware vulnerabilities, some of which can't be mitigated in software.

New phone time soon. Flagship.
Can't decide if I want to go folding, in which case it's a toss up between the new Smasnug fold or the upcoming Pixel Fold 2.
If I stick to normal form factor it's between the upcoming Pixel 9 Pro and or an iPhone. Currently using a Pixel 6 Pro that I've had since launch and while it has some annoyances, there are also a stack of small Pixel features that I'd miss elsewhere.
Call screening alone is enough to make me consider the Pixel Fold over the Z fold despite the various compatibility issues the Pixel Fold has (Play store treats it as a tablet).

Not phone related but since there's no tablet general I'll ask here
I'm looking for a good tablet for mainly video consumption and chess
All I want is a good quality screen (OLED/AMOLED/gayled etc.) and preferably something not THAT expensive (prob max 300€ I guess although less would be good)
I don't care about everything else (performance/camera/OS/storage/ram) all it'll do is chess and youtube

I am platform agnostic and they're rock solid devices for day-to-day phone stuff. There are also a few specific pros for them too (I use other Apple products already, have a real-world use for the lidar, a small selection of niche apps I use for work are more polished/reliable). I guess that's the crux of my decision - they all cost about the same, with the folders being a bit more expensive and I'm really splitting hairs when it comes to pros/cons.

The LG V60 is the greatest phone ever made.
>5000 mah battery
>expandable storage thru sd card slot
>quad dac headphone jack that drives even the beefiest of headphones
>dual screen case as an option
But seriously. Should I just get a new phone or stick with my aging v60? The only phone that has what I want is the chink shit Red Magic 9S Pro, new phones suck ass. Fuck apple, and fuck samsung for ruining the smartphone industry by removing useful features like headphone jacks and expandable storage. Flagship androids are just iPhones nowadays.

How do mutts live with whitelist carriers?

Basically you can trick carrier by injecting right volte settings. It's not that hard but you need instructions for your phone.

So should I pretty much forget about trying to use a Xiaomi phone in the US? On red pocket (AT&T). I'm assuming I'll run into problems getting it "certified" or whatever, or otherwise signal problems.

I just need something rootable & it seems like everything for the US is samshit with locked-down bootloaders

>why are mutts slaves to carriers
>how do mutts live with whitelist carriers
I answered this already. Muttland is fucking big and the cell phone carriers don't care about investing in coverage for the less densely populated areas. I live in East Bumfuck, Nowhere, USA, and the only cell carrier in my area that provides adequate coverage happens to be AT&T. I'm trying to move to an MVNO instead of AT&T prepaid which I'm currently using because I hate them, but switching to Verizon or T-Mobile or whatever is not an option.

And for frequencies I mean which of these frequencies would mean a phone will work with AT&T towers? I'm trying to pick a phone to use with the MVNO to buy but the search database doesn't tell you what freqs you need for what carriers.

I have an iphone 6splus, and I can't upgrade ios anymore. My data and many of my apps won't function unless I'm on the latest ios version.

Would it be possible to just jailbreak my phone and spoof the version number in order to keep using my phone rather than replacing it?
>>
I've been using my OnePlus 9 Pro for awhile now and I've been meaning to upgrade. I don't want the newest OnePlus 12 because of the price but, in between those model what's the best one?

I'm still using my old v30, but it's starting to show its age. With LG being out of the game, what's a good replacement that isn't Samsung? I really haven't looked at the phone market these days.
