PSA: NF4 is the better model format for gens. It has noticeable improvements beyond FP8 and even FP16 generations. You should be using NF4.

This was a test on a single seed, Anon. I haven't gotten many fp16 examples because of the slowness of gen. This doesn't really prove anything except that on seed 0 for that particular prompt nf4 was closer to it,

I know that every one of your examples has shown nf4 to be the clear winner, faggot. Don't blame me if you need to gen 50 more seeds before coming to the clear conclusion.
>>
>>101834553
retard.

im saying if you cared so much about the purity of a gen in it's original intended format, then you wouldn't be adding LoRAs to them like everyone here did with SDXL and Pony.

NF4 is simply another tool to enhance your gens, much like one of the many SDXL model derivatives or LoRAs.

only reason you have opposition to NF4's clear superiority, is that it shows that Ilya was the superior gay programmer of the couple.

stock image set is only like 100gb
nice thing about webdataset for training is that you can stream it, either directly or using the cache mode and a limit of how much to keep
you can also use any number of shards rather than all of it
with http its best to use cache in case of disconnects
big training will typically have the webdataset on the cloud provider's object storage because the gpu nodes will have a fast, stable connection to it
>>
>>101838974
It's better to have it locally.
I was thinking what is your access in terms of galleries and such? I know they don't post everything online.
Would be cool to have a real art collection.
i.e. 10 years ago I remember the Museum of Amsterdam posted selected artworks in high resolution based on their current exhibitions etc..

yeah for such a small set you might as well have it all locally, just wanted to explain the benefit of webdataset and like how training on huge sets like laion happens without needing to store everything on the nodes
atm i've only done one museum/art gallery, Tate https://www.tate.org.uk/search?type=artwork https://huggingface.co/datasets/bigdata-pw/tate it's ~66k rather than 79k mentioned on tate.org.uk because some are unavailable due to copyright
in a lot of cases i can get more than what's on offer as standard, like finding the high resolution image when they only show a preview, still it has to be online somewhere
more art is planned, maybe ill take a look tomorrow
only limits on what i can get is server capacity, time and coffee intake, my mongo server is a little overloaded atm, scrape nodes are a bit too

i appreciate your interest. i should upload to archive.org as well, usenet would be another option for long term retention, 10+ years from some providers
it would also help in cases where i don't have the capacity to store it myself, like all the images from diffusion1b
the services will inevitably shut down then all that history and progression of ai generated images would be lost. i only have a (relatively) small part of the images downloaded, around 13tb, i had to stop the image download after a drive failed to avoid any potential further failures while resilvering and havent restarted it yet, i estimate the complete collection would be several hundred tb and atm my limit is another ~100tb
civit loras are another interesting part of ai history which is why i'm downloading them all

suggestions of sites are just as much help as anything else, like with art galleries/museums, if someone made a list of this site has that it would save me the time of doing it myself. or something unique like one suggestion was https://www.1001tracklists.com/ which curates radio playlists and so on, having curated lists of artists that go together will help with other projects
for some projects like video game screenshots i'd like to set something up for people to contribute screenshots directly, like, put together a list of all the games for all the systems then people can pick a game, play it, take screenshots and submit them. there are of course sources for this like steam or taking frames from twitch videos, but the public contribution model works very well

Have you actually installed CUDA at all?

Then again doesn't matter.
Just do this:
First you check if you have any CUDA stuff installed and if you do, then uninstall all of it. After that you go to program files and program data to remove the leftover Nvidia folder.
Then you update your graphics drivers.
After that you download this:
https://developer.nvidia.com/cuda-12-1-0-download-archive
It asks you about CUDA Visual Studio Integration, so click the link in the text and install visual studio.
Once it's done, select the "Desktop Development With C++" in the visual studio window and just install all of them
Then continue with the CUDA setup, don't install any of the outdated graphics drivers etc.. that it suggests.
After that download CUDNN from here and install it
https://developer.nvidia.com/cudnn-downloads
Remember to choose just the 12.1 options, don't install the 11.8 that comes with it.

Okay now you have the CUDA stuff sorted out.
When that is done, you go to your venv folder, go to scripts and type CMD in the address bar, type "activate" in the cmd and then update pytorch by writing
pip3 install torch torchvision torchaudio --index-url https://download.pytorch.org/whl/cu121

Now you're good to go and this fucking program should finally recognize your GPU.
You can also add --cuda-stream to your COMMANDLINE_ARGS=
However do NOT type --xformers in there, because that will fuck things up for you. Xformers is causing issues for this one.

Screencap this as a reminder how to unfuck the "Cannot use torch" bullshit.
I did this yesterday because of myriad of errors I was getting.

Oh yeah one more thing.
If you have an older GPU than the 3000 series, I have no idea at all whether this stuff is compatible or not.
But I know it works for the 3000 series and higher.

>>
>>101840847

Just go to "Add or remove programs" and see if there's any Nvidia cuda stuff present you can uninstall.
If there isn't then just proceed without worry, if there is then just uninstall it and then proceed.
I do have a feeling you don't have anything in there if you don't remember installing this stuff.

>>101840864

Lol, poor bugger got confused by the information load.

>>101840881

Would be nice if it worked like that, but it doesn't.
I have fought with this damn program and my system for so many times by now, that I know for certain this doesn't work like people say it should.
>You don't have to do thing X, it'll do it on it's own, you just need to..
Never worked.
Only by doing it manually like that have I got things properly running.
Any kind of automatic install with this either hasn't managed to get things done or has just ended up shitting the bed by doing some half assed job that works when it feels like it.
For example I didn't have any problems for a good while until the latest Forge update that required the 12.1 CUDA, not that anyone even said it's necessary.
And I'm not alone with this.
There's a ton of people who have tried a million solutions and only going by the manual bit by bit route things have finally worked.

I work in video game art. There are often design proposals I need to make, and images help a lot. In a AAA you'd give the task to a concept artist, but in indies you take what you can get.
I need model to be able to generate decent hard-surface sci-shapes that will be used as inspiration for guns, armor, devices and so on basically. Style doesn't matter much. Can be photorealistic, can be a drawing.

I've more or less told them that AI is definitely not a silver bullet, and most of the time I can't get it to render what we need. They seem to be understanding.

But I definitely see that this can be a powerful tool for suggesting some design ideas that I can iterate on later with paint-overs and 3d model blockout.
I seem to need some models that are closer to my needs. I understand that training requires quite a lot of computational power, but would be nice to train a model on my dataset.

so on forge with flux, if the prompt is over 550 or so tokens, it'll show the "TypeError: 'NoneType' object is not iterable", soemtimes as an out of memory, but mostly as a "RuntimeError: stack expects each tensor to be equal size, but got [526, 4096] at entry 0 and [518, 4096] at entry 1" (the numbers are arbitrary depending on the length of the prompt).

Someone made a boob lora but it doesn't look much better than the deformed nips the model already can make https://civitai.com/models/639046/flux-booba

I'm using it on a 3080. It works best with Forge now after the new update.

yes, absolutely. I'm on a 4070 w/ an nf4 setup and I'm cooking at 2s/it. you can also run with fp8 instead of nf4 and gens will be somewhere between 5-15s/it from my experience

there's more detailed setup info here:
https://comfyanonymous.github.io/ComfyUI_examples/flux/
or if you want to use forge instead:

for realistic stuff it doesn't work that well, you can make it better by using a low threshold on AdaptiveGuidance and by decreasing the max_shift value of 0.8 on ModelSamplingFlux, can you give me your workflow so that I can show you how it can be improved
