Does anybody know if Samsung phones automatically connect to old galaxy watches even if they've been reset? I gave an old galaxy watch to my nephew and he's been staying over recently and today I was watching something on my phone and I got a notification saying I can't connect to his galaxy watch, is that because my phone was randomly trying to connect to it or was it connected and he ended the connection, meaning he could see what I was watching till he ended the connection? Howcome there is so much hate for pixel? I recently switched from an iPhone 11 pro max to the pixel 8a. Immediately installed grapheneOS.

My battery lasts 2 days with normal use, installed the pixel camera app through aurora store and it takes great photos. I never installed google play services framework either. I feel really satisfied with the phone.

Look I know this isn't a smartphone but it's an Android tablet and tablets are basically less powerful phones.

I bought one of those cheap ass Walmart tablets, came with a Helio G80, Android 14 and 800p IPS display and for the price, it's not that bad. I'd consider keeping it however there's one BIG issue, it doesn't support exFAT/ext4 so my 256GB uSD cards are worthless with it. Figures that they'd cheap out on this shit. I heard that's possible to add exFAT support on rooted phones but I don't know if this is worth the effort. The tablet has an option to unlock the bootloader so I'm guessing custom roms is possible (been awhile since I've done any of this shit). Can I do this? The kernel should have exFAT support since Google was adding it to 14, right?

My Pixel 6a's camera OIS system is fucked somehow and I can't get it to focus unless I get up close.
It's still in warranty until the end of September. Should I send it to Google or trust one of those "partner" repair shops?

I really liked my old Pixel 6, but it broke a long time ago and my Pixel 7a has been pretty disappointing ever since I got it. Moreso lately, since it's constantly overheating in the car and acting rather sluggish now and again. I don't know what Google did, but the text to speech has been horribly inaccurate for a while too. I'd look into the Pixel 8 and 9, but apparently those are filled to the brim with Gemini AI, and I don't give a care about that. Someone recommended the One Plus 12/12R to me to look into, do any of you have experience with it? I've heard that the camera is a bit of a step down, but that overall it feels very 'quick' to use (typing, swiping through things, etc). I'm hesitant to switch away from the Pixel UI/way of doing things, but if it's a big improvement I might be willing to learn.

Got a Motorola Edge 40 Pro and I've been using it a lot to play emulators with a controller, mainly PS2 and Wii. Also got to connect it to a tv and use it as some kind of PC, but when I try to use the emulators and use the phone as some kind of Switch I naturally get some input lag on the image that makes it unbearable to play. Is there any way to fix or improve it? Being able to play on a big screen would be perfect.

Long story short I need to replace the phone I've been using for 6 years. It has 4gb of ram but the important thing is it has an sd/headphone jack. I live in canada so selection is very limited, the only new phone I can find that has an sd/headphone jack also only has 4gb of ram.

so my question is do I need more than 4gb of ram in this day and age? or should I just go for the phone that has 8gb/ram and costs the same per month?

I hate buying new technology, I feel like I lucked in to my current phone and my next phone won't last nearly as long. I have decision paralysis. I don't even want a new phone but I feel like it is a necessity so I don't want to buy a new phone with similar specs to my 6 year old phone but I need that fucking sd/headphone slot.

I never thought of this. I'm not very knowledgable about smartphones. I've had cell phones since 2004 but the only smartphones I've ever had are a Blackberry Torch, which I used for 7 years, and a Galaxy A8 which I've used for 6 and a half years.

I'm pretty much resigned to the fact I will have to forgo an SD slot/headphone jack, but as I am in Canada my options are fairly limited in the first place. I can basically afford a Pixel 8 or a Galaxy S23 FE. I am leaning towards the s23 fe but I hear there are issues with the battery, which is one of the reasons I am hesitant to get it.

I hate smartphones, but they are a necessity now and I'm very concerned that my next phone won't last nearly as long as my current phone has.
