is it gonna be a holiday release for the 8000 series or am I better off just getting a 7900 GRE?
>>102238599Unfortunately, that is normal in the industry unless you're buying a high end monitor. Every monitor regularly sources multiple panels so production isn't disrupted. Only the best panel sourced is advertised. I'm sorry you didn't know that, but that is always how LCDs have been.I haven't bought a Dell monitor in years, but in my experience they label the different panels. The model number indicating which panel you get is labeled on the sticker with something like an A or 0A addition.

I don't trust the results I get on google searches when it comes to hardware.Does anyone know what the best gaming mice are in terms of lowest acceleration in 2024? I care more about having low/no acceleration than about dpi or anything else.
I set my new TV that does 4k 144hz up and holy fuck. TVs have come so far. DLSS is unreal on a TV, you can't even see the artifacts if you sit far away. 4k 90-100 FPS in Horizon Forbidden West and the 4070ti Super only uses 200W power with an undervolt. Core temp only hits 52C and hotspot 62C so it doesn't even turn the PC into a space heater. Absolutely incredible, I think that's the closest I've come to a chub from technology.
You retards have no argument and you get shit on every time, real masochists to come back time and time again>>102238854Let me quote myself:>hogwarts with rt and frame genRT and Frame Gen are considered the baseline now? Heard it here first folks, the AMDrone himself has admitted that no Radeon card can be recommended, as none of them can play Hogwarts with the highest settings.Yet you retards even recommend the 7800 XT for 1440p, and it's not even good enough for 60 FPS with FSR on max settings >>102238635 in games without hardware RT>>102238864Performance matters and the 7800 XT is sub 60 FPS at 1440p even with FSR in the latest games. B650E is widely available for 220 for inferior VRM which shouldn't matter for X3D CPUsThe plan is to buy a platform that will last until the components give out and it can't even be repaired. It's a very realistic goal considering my current one is more than 10 years old and still works. Had I not cheaped out too much I could push it's life to 15 maybe more years of service. As for upgrading the goal is to maybe upgrade to the most powerful chip some time after AMD moves on to the next socket and upgrade the GPU even later if the rest of the system supports it hence the 850W PSU>>102239986In local currency 30 euro is not a negligible amount and it adds up quickly considering the national average monthly income per person is around 500 or 1k in the capital. Obviously I am keeping whatever I buy for another 10+ years if I can and if the projected uplift gives better performance for less money then I can try and wait until January. What are 3 months to a decade? With that said if it's going to be another shitshow that only sees 5% gains and forces the buyer to wait for weeks before flaws are discovered and maybe fixed I may as well go now

Unless they both suffer data loss within 5 years then I got much more value of them than with a single brand new HDD. Any obvious flaws in my plan?
After looking at several ATX cases (honestly I'd like to go small but that would require a full mobo+ram+cpu upgrade or buying a fucking AM4 motherboard in 2024) my choices narrow down to the Lancool III, the Air 903 MAX and the Fractal Torrent Compact. I don't want anything more huge than that (and definitely not a cube or anything dual chamber or whatever it's called).Which one would you recommend the most out of these?I'm looking for build quality and quiet. With proper cooling I would imagine the thing would run quiet. While cable management concerns me a bit maybe the Torrent Compact (which I heard has problems with that because of its layout) has something over the other two cases that's worth it. Aesthetics are not much of a problem, it's likely it will be down on the floor.
>check upgrade path for am4>~5Ghz monstrosities>only 105W tdpLiterally how? I can still use my basic bitch 30€ cooler on it. Also why is every retard buying the noctua gigatowers?
>>102242711why not montech sky two gx?
Do you have recommendations for affordable speakers? Nothing crazy but nothing that will instantly grate your ears either
>>102242876they want The Best™ (and they're the same retard who use 14th gen intel)
>>102242921I also looked at it, but people kept often recommending the Air 903 MAX over it like there was no point on getting that one. Though maybe I'm missing something.
>>102242876No one buys noctua anymore. They are going to bankrupt.
Is there any situation in which it would be beneficial to mount a GPU vertically?I've seen people claim that in certain setups horizontally mounted GPUs are fairly restricted because they push air through the sides and they get choked out by TG panels on narrower cases/motherboards with shrouds. Also that with some newer cases intakes often populate the bottom. But I'm not entirely sure.
>>102242876>Literally how?Relatively low heat density and a high sustainable operating temperature. Remember TDP is not a direct measure of temperature or power.

>>102243010So what did intel do wrong in their design with 14th gen that you nearly cannot aircool it?
>>102242711montech if you can put the budget to better use.lancool if you don't really care about the price.torrent is over-rated.
>>102243069They just throw 250w+ at a really dense package so the inner cores get baked by the ones around them in a nut shell. Combined with cpus not being direct die cooled so there are thermal constraints actually pulling heat off the die, through the TIM, into the IHS and into your cooler means intel chips are extremely difficult to cool.On the other side AMD's chiplet design means even if you slammed 250w through them the CCX's (and I/O die) are physically separate and each chiplet is small which gives a large surface area making cooling easier. Same deal applies to threadripper and epyc - those chips can suck down hundreds of watts (you let something like a 7995wx off the chain and it can drink 500w) - but they are physically so spaced out they can be air cooled.
>>102241587>What are some good general benchmark tools anyways? For benchmarks,>CPUCinebench R23/24, CPU-Z>GPU Unigine Heaven, Unigine Superposition, any demanding game of your choiceFor stress testing CPU/RAM in a worst-case scenario, use Prime95.There are some better paid options, but lmao paying for something you'll run a couple times every few years.
>>102243138I have a total budget of 300€ for a case and a PSU, basically. I haven't decided much on the PSU and I can probably save on that as well (650W should be still enough for a future build, I already upgraded my GPU and I always undervolt these shits anyways). It's tough because I haven't seen Montech before.
>>102242998You would pretty much only want to do it in an ITX or very non-standard case that relies on the GPU getting air from a fan mounted on a vent in the side panel. In all other cases it's objectively worse.
>>102243333checkedget the montech and a Be Quiet dark power 13 850w titanium PSU (note, not the dark power PRO 13), it's a rock sold SS+ tier PSU that has a 10 year warranty with native support for old style 6+2's and new 12vhpwer if you ever get a high end nvidia.
>>102241403Bro I get it that you are retarded, and that's okay, there's plenty like that here, but the entire purpose of that case is to be "le air cooler meme end game case". You going AIO negates the entire purpose of it, and you are hard griefing yourself out of performance from said aio by not getting any case where you could attach it on top. You are going to be taking hot as shit air and blowing it inside your case.
>>102241771>surprise moveThis has been painfully obvious for months. Maybe it's a surprise for Toms' chatbot article writers.
google, amazon and apple are a far worse for abusing their monopolies than nvidia is.
>>102243478It'll take a while to get another nvidia GPU since I just bought a 4070 super but I will check that one out
>>102238590Anyone else signed up for FrameChasers brainfuck overclocking master class bamboozle? I canae believe that guy is going full Athene Arc with that guy starting a gamers college at the beginning

What PC build would be good for running late '90s Windows 9x games in 86Box?My budget is 800$
>>102243503He can always turn the fans around.
>>102240531>>102240618I only buy Western Digital and SK Hynix/Solidigm drives.
>>102244333Basically anything made in the last 10-15 years. Any recent high clocking chip will be fine.
>>10224433312400F + used 2080 Ti.
>>102239574The money is mostly held up in Congress and consistently getting slashed. Ironically the CHIPS Act is getting chipped away or gobbled up by DoD spending. Fortunately the DoD backed out of the “totally not bailing out Intel with a free (courtesy of the tax payers) $3 billion infusion” after realizing they probably wouldn’t be getting anything out of it and seeing the dumpster fire that is Intel.
>>102244569IFS will get bailed out no matter what. The rest of intel (dunno what they call themselves after the split) will be allowed to fail should they keep fucking it up.
is 32'' 1440p a shady nasty ideawant a second monitor 27'' 1440p feels a little small

>>102241550Why have you not considered just ordering a free AM5 mounting kit??
>>102244695nta, but nobody scales 4k to 1080p.that would be fine on a 24/4k panel, not on the far more common 27/32/4k. those, you scale at 150% to 1440p
>>102244719AM5 kit is not a problem, I'm talking about it overhanging the PCIe x16 slot for GPU. There is another x16 but in x4 mode, which might work but should cost me performance, as I understand.
Hi, everyone. I am looking to finally upgrade my GPU to the latest and greatest out there. Was thinking of getting the 7900 XT, but here I am seeing that AMD is just about to release the 8000 series. When a new AMD lineup is announced, do you guys know when the new GPU's hit store shelves or can be ordered? Is it even worth waiting possibly till 2025 Q1 for them to come out?Thank you for your collective experience.
