>>103004813but.......Are there any infrared thermometers like this WITHOUT the laser pointer? The laser pointer creeps me out. It's so powerful, even when reflecting off a normal non-reflective surface, it's so fucking powerful, makes my eyes feel irritated afterwards, even just having it reflect off clothes. I have to switch it the laser off each time I use it. But I feel uncomfortable even having it desu, scared of accidental eye damage. So are there any without the laser? Or would it be possible to open up the one I have and remove the laser component?(I don't simply want to block it as I'm scared it will then unpredictably shine out of any hole on the side it can find, even more concentrated and be even more dangerous) :(this is the one i currently have
>>103005010chill, those red laser pointers are mostly below 5mw, same ballpark as the Sun in broad daylight, just don't directly look into it like what you would do to the Sun. It's not like IR laser won't harm you if you can't see it, in fact they are more dangerous because your retina and cornea get cooked without you knowing.
>>103005010i got one of these as well, the laser can be deactivated, is the left button on the image, so it will probably be the same in the one in your image, as it has the same button

But i'm sure it's still useful to compare wet to dry items, so I'll think I'll get one, it's super cheap.https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005007433665549.html

Watch strap bros, what are some snazzy cool straps you've seen lately?
Minor haul arrived (picrel, left) (All of these are bundle items):>Solder iron stand - 1,18€It's cheaply made, but it gets the job done. My old one had a plastic mounting mechanism which broke off.>Deburring tool - 5,12€Metal, feels good to hold, is sharp, works well. Seems fine for 3d prints.>Clippers - 1,37€Cheap generic clippers, I had similar ones before but wanted spares. They work.>Solder Paste/Flux syringe grip - 1,64€It's lacking some sort of quick adjust, but it works fine - and it's a lot nicer to use than the plungers.>Organizer Box - 2,56€Fabric box with internal compartments you can arrange as you want with velcro. I already have one for PSUs, wanted another one for random electronics.>Hot plate - 10,07€This thing is a lot nicer than I expected. It's relatively small (57 * 57 * 35 mm), has a plastic housing and metal plate at the top, as well as 2 buttons, a screen and USB-C. The UI is pretty intuitive, similar to IronOS (pinecil, TS100), but you can manually tune the PID values (yes, each of them individually) within it and switch between a "info" mode (picrel right) and "curve" mode (picrel, middle), as well as change max and min temps. It has both a chinese and english UI. I did a quick test and temps seem decently accurate, at least for the ranges I care about (deviations of under 10C I'd probably not be able to measure on the high end of the temps). As for downsides I have only noticed 2: - If you plug it into a USB-C plug that can't support enough power it will simply crash/turn off and then restart, but not tell you why it happened- At around 180-200 C it started noticably smoking and smelling really bad. I placed it outside for the initial test run and let it smoke off there, but the circuitry doesn't seem harmed and the stench is gone now, so burn it in outside first. As max-temp is 200-350C and min-temp is 0-200C in settings, it'll be too hot to be a nice cup warmer though, at least until modifications are made.

>>103009960I've got the win 4 it's pretty cool.
>>103009819NTALast thread (or two or three ago, I lose track of time) I asked about it from someone else talking about it and he said they're pretty much all one of two models. There's a shitty plastic one and a hexagonal metal one, says they do as good of a job as eachother, but the metal one feels sturdier & nicer to hold (as expected) and that you should get one with extra blades (like anon got)
>>103010307thanks. i have the blue plastic one, bought many moons (less than $2 iirc) ago and it only came with the one blade, its not as sharp now has it used to be so i was wondering if i should just get the metal one as a set with extra blades or just the blades, since the handle/holder/tool is still fine
>>103009697How is this btw? Is it better than the daicamping dl30 at $40, vs roxon flex for $80?
>>103010666This is what I have access to at the moment.>roxon flex (has pliers)>victorinox 91mm handyman (has power tweezers)>victorinox 91mm compact (tweezers)>roxon ks2e (tweezers)>nextool e1 (no pliers nor tweezers)>victorinox 58mm swiss light (tweezers)I haven't yet gone out to collect my daicamping dl30, so I can't really comment about it.The flex is solid, quality, and every edge is nicely finished.Everything moves smoothly, and nicely clicks into place.Changing tools around is easy enough once one has played around with it a bit. It's also the largest and heaviest multitool in my picture. No complaints with the basic tool load-out.I don't generally carry it as everything is currently locking.(I take the handyman instead.)Having only 2 long slots is brutal.Ideally I'd have: scissors, blade, diamond file, saw.(The file that it comes with is nail file tier.)There is a 1/4-inch bit driver option.Using it takes up all the short slots on one side. For general use this does not feel like a worthwhile trade.
soundcore q45 is pretty good. Its probably the cheapest wireless headphones you can get for the quality
>>103009819Basically >>103010307 got it right. I got the plastic one originally too, because I have a tendency to get the cheapest tool I can first to see if I actually use it, but tried the metal one at a friend's place and liked it. It feels nice, but functionally it's not any better than the plastic one (except the spare blades are a big deal). Did you look just for spare blades? The refills should be buyable without a handle too.

1111 is just two weeks away, yet I don’t see anything about it on Ali. Wasn’t there always some huge marketing, quite early before that date? It’s gotten worse every year, but if you lucked out early, you always could get a coupon or two that offsets the (((sale))) price increase and then some. There’s some things I need (need… yeah, I know) and they’re never on sale, so if the they don’t I cress price too much for 1111, that might be a good deal. Honestly, given temu’s and SHEINs marketing, I’d have had hopes that AliExpress would counter them with some noteable 1111 event, but so far, I don’t see anything. >>103011647>roxon ks2e (tweezers)>nextool e1 (no pliers nor tweezers)Those look interesting/unusual. How do you like them?
>>103013617Personally I wouldn't hold my breath for a big event, they spent a shitton on marketing last year with the UEFA, but I'd expect the usual big coupons on every item where you have to hit like 40/60 total to apply them and they usually alone are enough to make 11.11 worth it.

>>103013617>roxon ks2e (tweezers)Good complement of tools.- cutting: blade, large scissors- boring: awl w/ eyelet- sawing: saw- screws: phillips driver- other: can/bottle opener, nail file, glass breaker, tweezers- Everything feels sturdy.- Can open and close blade one-handed w/ either hand. (thumb-stud + liner lock.)- Everything locking, except scissors.- The mechanism for the scissors is sweet. The locking mechanisms are nice to play with. When I need scissors, I tend to reach for these because of their size.>nextool e1 (no pliers nor tweezers)Strange assortment of tools.- cutting: blade, scalpel holder, scissors- screws: flat bit holder- other: package/can opener- I managed to bend the can opener, which has strongly coloured my impression of this tool.- Not at premium as the KS2E.- Can open blade or package/can opener one-handed w/ either hand after practice / break-in period.- No locking tools.- Mechanism for scissors, like the KS2E, is nice.- I like the space efficiency of the flat bit driver. If I could go with either, I would go for the KS2E.It has larger scissors, and a longer blade. (Though the Victorinox blade is slightly longer still.)It is the more premium and the more comprehensive of the two.But that may not be an option depending on the laws regarding locking vs non-locking in your country.

>>103003066Jcd8208 seems like an okay heat gun. It's on the weak side for drying a leaky skylight before caulking or drying rubber cement, but it's enough for melting solder paste. I got it for 32 CAD in January, it's 44 now so maybe there will be a sale. It's supposed to be easier/less damaging to the components when used in combination with an adjustable hot plate, but I haven't gotten around to putting the relay/PTC plate/RTD together. The PTC plate is hot enough to melt all the solder by itself.
Chink packing cubes (yellow) vs branded ones (green).Chink ones are made from thicker fabrics and larger zippes and are much heavier as a result.May or may not mean they're sturdier, but definitely cruder.

>>103018860If they were the same price.Which would you go for again ?>>103019815I think pictured just measures voltage and current.Which then allows it to calculate power. The 58 has the ability to probe to find which charging protocols are supported. And at which voltages and currents.Eg: 12v isn't always supports. And different ports usually support a small set of protocols, and have support a smaller set of voltages and currents.Eg: If you have a phone that can charge at a certain rate, and a charger that can supply power at that rate, and you want to figure out what is going wrong. (Diagnostics.)The 58 can also read the details on any e-marker chip in your usb-c cable.I think the 48 might not be able to probe all the protocols that the 58 can. But not sure on this.
>>103019863I'm guessing that's just a network dongle but instead of putting the dongle in your computer and use an Ethernet cable you stick it in a nearby switch and use a USB cable? It could be more convenient to use depending on your setup.I can see using it in my screen with the benefit of not having a dongle poking from the bottom which might actually hit my desk.

>>103020642The branded ones of course. Just checked my emails, I bought them 6 years ago. Been using them in every trip and I do that a lot. The logo faded, but no damage to fabric, zippers or fastenings whatsoever. They also saved my clothes from liquid spills twice through that time. Those were $45 for a set of three and I got chink ones at $9 for two.I also don't like how this chink ones have compression zippers. Compressing is just pointless. But that's just a design choice, I have compressing eaglecreeks as well.Anyway, gonna be using both now, but won't be buying more of the chink ones (as I was hoping to), at least not from this brand, will probably try another later. They're not really bad, would still recommend if you never bothered with this shit. Most importantly, the main fabric seems identical and they work perfectly fine, but it seems chinks didn't quite master the ultralight fetishism yet.

It takes actual effort to leave the firewall, and there's not much of a reward waiting for you once you do. There's simply many more people, much more and higher quality content, and more topics that you wouldn't find much information on on other sides of the internet. For the chinese, given their large population and restricted internet, this may be less pronounced. Still there must be some topics that they would be better off looking up on the english side of the internet.

>>103027656Good to know, thanks anon. No I'm not looking for a disco ball effect, I thought the 8x8 might make for more homogeneous and efficient lighting. But if it isn't necessary then that only makes things easier.
>>103026065>having to see this shit in AliExpress>having to see this shit on /csg/ tooYou're disgusting, anon. Was it worth the (You)s?
>>103002523Aaaand we finally have promotion calendar for November available.

>>103029126>xiamoi day>lenovo daySo they're going to stretch 11.11 over weeks and get you to buy more shit every single day? Seems stupid.
india day wen saar
>>103028835What are the X Day things? Will Xiaomi shit be actually cheaper on Xiaomi Day? Will electronics components be cheaper on Tech Day or Consumer electronics Day?What will be better, Mega Choice Day, 11.11 or Black Friday then?>inb4 it's all the same silly gweilo
>>103029507>inb4 it's all the same silly gweiloyou answered yourself
>>103029507No, ignore the brand days. They will just create different page for given brand every day. Buy when the sale starts. For the last two years Black Friday had worse coupons than 11.11, but years before that these two sales were same. I believe Mega Choice Day can be ignored, despite chinks haven't posted any further info yet. Wait for 11.11
Is it best to buy shit on 11.11 or wait for black friday? I need to get new phones for my parents.
>>103029610how did you just answer the next post?wtf

Which are the best BRICKS sets found on Ali?Primarily looking for technic stuff, but seems like the kids might enjoy something less techy as well.I want to get the mclaren p1, I like it very much but no way I'm paying ~400 EUR for it.
My newest chinkshitIt also came with a necklace chain but I plan to just put it on my keychain
Post your 11.11 carts bros...
Chink handgrinders? I'm looking to make french press coffee
>>103030089Aliexpress Russia is a different entity, it's simply not covered there.Last year discounts were actually better than global ones. It was also basically a simple flat discount on everything instead of coupon shenanigans.
>>103031489A kingrinder p0 if you want something cheap but still surprisingly decent (or p1/p2 if you can't find it, because p0s sell fucking quick), a kingrinder k6 if you want best value for money, but you don't really need it for french press since that's pretty forgiving to grind quality.Kingrinder mainly sell through amazon though, you can find them on aliexpress but last time I checked they were charging more, and I don't think those were official stores either.
Best way to display pins you bought? I have like, bags of them and they're just in my drawer. I want to actually show them off.
>>103031796You can get boards with cloth over them, or banners like pic related (found it on ali, just search for pin display board or something)
>>103031820thanks friend.
>>103031455>letting chang know what you want to buy so it doesn't drop in priceshiggy diggyI browse aliexpress exclusively on private mode and then open the cleansed urls on my normal window.
>>103031983>exclusively on private mode and then open the cleansed urlsbased, based, based!i do that on all websites that i want to purchase shit from, so that the "added to x carts" doesnt trigger anyone dealing with the backoffice and they start messing with the prices.this fucking stupid captcha reset timer is too low, if i dont post for 1 hour or so i need to wait the 900s again...
>>103031983>>103032263so does having a big cart cause price increases?
>>103031784Fuck you, now you made me wanna buy the k6 instead
>>103032279chink is always looking at what (you) want and even posting it here could increase it's prices. Be careful.

>>103027225You're definitely right about that, but as you yourself already said, it's less important because China is fucking massive. The thing is, the firewall doesn't stop a schizo from finding the truth if they want. You _can_ find all the bad stuff about the Chinese government if you really want by circumventing it, but that's not what it's for, the main goal is that in everyday casual browsing, the average Chinese normie doesn't stumble upon uncomfortable truths. As long as the normies don't get confronted with these dissenting opinions, those who have them are just a schizoid minority and thus powerless to be a risk to the CCP. Don't get me wrong, I totally agree with your experience, I'm German and the second I could I ditched the German internet for the anglosphere as well. It's just not the same in China (or was when I did the exchange like a decade ago).
>>103029018There's a lot of them, but you pretty much only find knockoffs on Ali.The original one was a hat with "fish fear me, women want me" on it, and it was sincere. Then came a "fish want me, women fear me" ironic one and from there it became more and more strange like"The feelings of women and fish about me are too complex to accurately summarize on this hat" until the magnum opus, the kommandostore big fish hat: https://kommandostore.com/products/the-big-fish-hatThere's memes with even longer and arguably funnier text, but afaik kommandostore are the only ones making the ridiculous hat for real.
>>103032753Think of a ESP32 like a Arduino, it's a microcontroller, so it can do microcontroller things. These boards anon is linking have built in WiFi antennas and can host simple http Webservers for IoT functionality, but really sky is the limit as long as it doesn't need much processing power. A cool project at a tech convention a few years ago was a sort of "wifi sniffer" consisting of like 20 of these all listening to WiFi traffic on different frequency bands and recording it all to visualize it later so you could see the wifi use in the convention visually.More realistic uses I personally had for these were a wifi doorbell for my parents and a wifi activated coffee grinder that checks if I am on my home network via WiFi and if I am it makes freshly ground coffee at a specific time when I wake up.
Got a alpine loop clone off of Ali express for $1.42. Feels like the real thing and looks great, bought a group of them, everything looks like the picture save for the green which is significantly darker but at that price who cares. I'm getting a lot of success buying watch straps off of Ali, while poors pay50+ for "genuine" I got a whole wardrobe for $30
>>103032552You can’t just say something without elaborating my negro
>>103032887still a meme
>>103032887if you want anything remotely good you'll need to spend $400+
Are USB-powered AA/AAA battery chargers dangerous?I recall a video on one of those USB charger teardown channels (maybe Big Clive) where it was mentioned in the same breath as dangerous dodgy cheap USB phone chargers. The implication was these can be just as cheap and dangerous, the circuitry in them can be just as shoddy and cost-cutting.Is it true? I bought one last year from Ali. I've only used it a couple of times, but I'll throw it out today if you think I should.
>>103033671There's "good" ones and bad onesI'm too lazy to give you a full rundown so I'll just give you this https://lygte-info.dk/info/roundCellChargerIndex%20UK.htmlAnd a summary that you probably want to look at Xtar, Efest, Vapcell, Opus, LiitoKala, or Nitecore (doesn't mean everything they make is good and also doesn't mean there's no other good brands)
Any cool shit I could get at Taobao?
>>103033671i have a bty-c704a3 and it has served me well over the years. it does negative delta detection for end of charging. minor downside is it requires cells to be charged in pairs (cant do single cell charging)
Honestly ran out of cool shit to buy. Wish I knew what to get next.

>>103030792I've ordered a robot dog from Mould King, haven't received it yetThey have plenty of technic stuff, the company was founded in 2012 and looks reputableSomeone probably already bought some legos, look on the archives
Thinking about finally setting up a home media server plus seedbox that I plan on keeping on 24/7Should I go chinkshit with the set up? Or just get an old computer off Fagbook Marketplace? Or go full fag and get that Mac Mini?
>>103035938I would ask 4chan.org/g/hsg/Currently here >>103012516My guess is that a cheap n100 would be up to the task. The jank would be figuring how you might want to attach any disks / additional storage.
>>103032799fake pussy
>>103035938I did something similar and started with a chinkshit N100 minipc. It worked fine enough for some light server stuff but for a similar price on ebay I got an sff optiplex with an i3-10100 which is significantly better
>>103033240link?
>>103035938It'll depend on a lot of things, like how much you are willing to invest for upgradeability and low power consumption, as well as the workload and requires form factor.Personally I went the used route, probably cost like 20€ more than a comparable mini PC, but I could add additional storage later and it wasn't an issue, so that was nice.Media server means you don't want the absolute lowest processing power because you might want to stream it to multiple devices or - even worse - transcode your media for different devices.I got myself the cheapest Intel CPU+motherboard combo I could find that had a low tdp, but could do video transcoding. The low tdp means I don't even need an active cooler, a passive cooler works just fine, so the only sounds it makes is from the PSU fan, which is borderline silent. The only thing you do hear are the hard drives, but it's in another room for me so I don't care. If however you have less space and the server is supposed to live in a bedroom on a shelf or something, a mini PC or used optiplex might be better for that.
>>103035576Oh, had forgotten that brand and that one can search the archives. Thanks and don't forget to write a review once it arrives.>>103036172How much did you pay for the optiplex? Also in a similar boat - n100 Vs used corp hardware
>>103035995nta, but I hate how there is no n100 build with just a normal pcie x16 instead of a bunch of SATAs. I need one for my SAS drives
