>>103087762Why do you black and white nigger retards think it has to be either this shit OP or the jeetcode OP?- Salary negotiation was a good link, employed people interview too- Nobody gives a single shit about your webshit developer resources, take that to /wdg/. Are backend/devops not?- Put up some roadmaps instead, being employed doesn't mean you hate promotions. I would suggest roadmap.sh- System design and distributed systems concepts are extremely good to know, employed or not, junior or senior. It's full of opinions anyway. Has anyone here ever been headhunted by very early stage startups before? I've been getting a lot of emails from random mid-tier companies to be a senior but I generally ignore them cause they're sketchy and want me to do like 5 rounds of bullshit interviews for a job that pays less than my current one. But just now this "executive headhunter" is asking if I essentially want to be head of engineering for this early stage startup. I'm kind of skeptical that this isn't a scam but they have a website and linkedin and everything, but it still feels weird since usually these random headhunters care a lot about years of experience. I have about 5-6YOE at FAANGMULA+ type companies, but normies usually worship just number of years rather than how "hard" your company is, hence why I'm skepticalThe salary will probably be trash at this startup and I'm not sure what questions to ask to ensure they dont dilute my shares and screw me over later on
>applied to Google again>this is my sixth bout>applied to position 4 days ago>finally got through their ATS for the sixth time>now waiting for their HR roastie to do their jobAm I about to go 6 for 6 or will they finally let me talk to a human being?
I'm seeing a rise in automated coding assessments preceding HR screens and I don't like it.>pass 70 minute assessment>schedule call with HR>get told the salary I put on the application was too high>ask what the range is and say their max still works for me>get a rejection email a week later anywayHR screening first would have only wasted 15 minutes tops, but I lost 70 more minutes of my life (on a work day) because they couldn't be bothered to verify my requested salary was too high before sending me an assessment.
>>103088329There are some companies now who don't even do a basic resume screen before sending you the OA and just send them to essentially every applicant. Getting invited to a coding assessment and passing doesn't even mean you get a call any more

Behind your back people say that you're a useless DEI hire. Your parents are disgusted and ashamed of you, your “tech bros” laugh at you behind closed doors.Real programmers are utterly repulsed by you. Even devs who “pass” have no creative output and excessively verbose with techno buzzwords. Your GitHub profile is a dead giveaway, and even if you manage to score a 3 month internship at a tech company, a real company will turn tail and bolt the second they sees that you haven't completed any non school related projects. You will never be happy. You cope by saying that your bullshit software is using a proprietary test framework so you can't open source it, but deep down you know it's because you don't want people to see your incompetence, and that the core of your software is actually an open source project which you're shamelessly profiting off.Eventually it will be too much to bear. You'll buy a google gift card, a spoofed business phone number, and start scamming old people into redeeming. This is your fate. This is what you chose. There is no turning back.

According to watchdog group Good Jobs First, Amazon’s subsidy packages often involve long-term tax exemptions, especially for energy and utility expenses Tesla benefited from federal support in its early years, including a significant $465 million loan from the Department of Energy in 2010, which it repaid in 2013. Tesla has also received various state-level incentives, including tax credits and subsidies for its factories and battery facilities, such as the Gigafactory in Nevada Alphabet (Google) has received various local incentives, primarily tax breaks, for its data centers and offices. These packages often aim to support job growth and energy-efficient infrastructure. For instance, Google’s data centers in North Carolina and South Carolina received tax breaks that span several decades Apple has similarly benefited from tax breaks and subsidies in exchange for building new facilities and data centers in specific regions. In North Carolina, Apple was offered millions in incentives to build a large data center, part of which aimed to create local employment Intel received substantial tax benefits for expanding its semiconductor manufacturing in the U.S. Recent investments in domestic chip production, spurred by the CHIPS Act, aim to reduce reliance on overseas manufacturing and have opened the door to further federal and state-level support Microsoft has received local and state tax breaks for data centers, especially in regions like Iowa, where local governments offered incentives to encourage high-tech job creation

We feel more like coworkers than boss and employee. He's working on some bigger projects and I'm more of doing the helping hand on this while also working on my projects. But most of my projects are waiting for Big Boss for confirmation but I'm kinda like... I don't want to keep bugging Big Boss to do "my work" but it's in his field but he's keeps forgetting but it's he's the one that told me to do it and I'm just like uhhhh. I'm trying to get my boss to be more involved in this but he doesn't seem to get the hint. But now it seems like I've been using my boss as a scapegoat or getting him to do the actual work of talking to stakeholders and stuff while I just DEVELOPP IM DEVELOPPING but I don't think that's exactly productive. I also don't want to take up the responsibility if I'm being paid like peanuts and companies are evil anyways so it's good to do the bare minimum but I want to also be petted on the head like a good boy hmm...

>>103094644a big part of it is that my big boss initiatives are so "cloudy"? like outlandish and I'm limited by the software that I'm just kinda like what the fuck how am i suppose to design this? Then I'm kinda in a company where people are still early on using this software and the main developers left so there's a lot of hocus pocus so I have restrictions that are there but not really. like there's no operational flow for this thing and im constantly drafting solutions that are trying to be flexible enough but then a stakeholder wants to do it another way or they use this function a completely different way it's just hard to come up and program solutions. that's why im relying more on my boss to guide my work since he has more operational experience and he knows the best practice but he doesn't really "follow up" so I'm just mostly shrugging my shoulders sometimes or OH GOD OH GOD OH GOD mode. Bouncing between the two isn't really fun.

I'm not exactly a tech worker but I work in the video game industry. My studio used a proprietary engine that is ancient and while I'm am artist I do alot of scripting, mostly for materials and shaders and animation. We started a new project and it's in unreal. I've used it for a week now and have discovered that node based scripting is absolutely amazing. It makes me want to learn a real coding language.

>>103097156I always excuse myself next to a poojeet. It's only fair since I have to smell them each day.
>>103096987node based scripting is not much removed from actual programming. it's got all of the same hallmarks. But since you're in unreal it'd be a pretty big jump to go to C++. Try a language that handles the memory for you like C#. I don't have much experience with unreal but I hope it has bindings to memory managed languages that are not C++. Ever since C++11 it has become an unwieldy beast that just gets harder to use every year. You'd probably also enjoy the Factorio game.

Today is going to be a great day friendsI can already picture the heavily tattooed tranny freak on my team who always posts subtly political messages and randomly brings up trans issues having a massive meltdown.Haven't smiled at work for a long time but I will today

>>103102174Doesn't that take a year+ to get unless you're military?
>>103102233No. Why do you think it's a requirement in so many jobs? It's basically free, no different from your CISSP.

Unemployed and uneducated people should be sent to labor camps and stripped from their civil rights, I say this unironically btw.
>>103102629dont bring back conscription bro my cushy job in the military NEEDS it to be voluntary so i can get that money and no one knows what i actually do milton-style
>>103102629At the very least people receiving more money from the government than they pay in (other than members of the military) shouldn't be allowed to vote.
>>103102666Are there any country where this is a thing? Or has it ever been a thing in history? Cause I feel like this would be a good idea.
>>103102678The US originally worked somewhat like that although they used race/land ownership as a proxy for it. The electorate was expanded mostly so politicians could buy votes.
