Grats mutt bros.
do I buy PC parts right now before trump signs a bunch of tarrifs and cheap parts go for 1000$?

I know the new Intel CPUs are overall shit tier but not putting them in the:>Workstation: 7900X, 9950Xline is literally fanboying, its the only thing they are good for
The 9800x3d launch is giving me hopium that perhaps they'll finally nail the 9950x3d and I can build my PC. Few more months waitgods.

Is what Linus says true? That it literally doesn't matter what CPU you use at 4k? Even 5800x3D performs the same as 9800x3D as long as you have 4090? Then what's the point? Why would somebody buy the latest CPU to play at 1080p?

ight, I think I got my new setup, only case left, any suggestions?https://nl.pcpartpicker.com/list/nHDNnp
>>103103888its not true, at least not alwaysthere are games that are always cpu bottlenecked even at 2160p (not that uncommon actually) with a 4090 and having a faster cpu will always reduce stuttering even if the avg fps is the same

>>103103888i don't get it either. productivity charts for x3d is like literally half of intel core ultra, outside of photoshop. i mean 490 fps vs 320 fps @ 1080p medium is nice, i guess? but like who cares. no one games at those settings. 9800x3d strikes me as like buying a ps5 inside a pc tower. for everything else core ultra seems to be much faster, especially with faster ram?which would be the better buy coming from a 9900k, 9800x3d or 265k core ultra?
>>103103888yes everything is gpu bottlenecked at 4k. you only buy x3d if you play at 1080p
>>103103826>9800x3d actually more than 10% faster than 7800x3dWelp that settles it, it's a day 1 purchase for me
>>103104001Bro, take a look at the lows, some of those results are fucking insane
>>103103888That's very simplified. Basically what he means is that it matters little if you're GPU bound. You could be GPU bound even at 1080p if you crank up the settings to Ultra Giga + RT or you could be CPU bound at 4K at low settings.Since most people don't understand the concept of bottleneck, it's easier to just say to normies "if you're at 4K it doesn't matter".
Hopefully this is the right place to ask these questions.I'm planning on building a small server for home usage, which will primarily be used as a NAS, but also to run some applications and docker containers. My initial plan was to simply just buy a NAS, like a Synology or a QNAP, but I'm afraid they wont be customizable enough for me, and may be limiting in their OS experience. So I started looking for good bases, and stumbled over the Fractal Design Node 304 case, which looks extremely diverse and like something I could throw all my drives in.Any recommendations for motherboard, PSU, and all the other things I haven't thought of?I don't have several thousand to throw at this project, and it doesn't need to be the absolute best of the best, but mainly something that doesn't suck and can run basic homeserver applications.

Need a good side monitor for work (programming)I plan on upgrading my main monitor when I get a new 50 series GPUThe side monitor should have the following>27/28 inches> >=WQHD, preferably 4K>OLED preferred but I think this isn't possible in 27 inch form factor yet, so probably IPS>3:2 ratio preferred>Thunderbolt input really preferred>VISA mount preferred >higher refresh is betterAnything out there that fits my preferences?Been dreaming of one of these (pic related) for a while but I can never find it for sale

Hey /g/, I’m looking to build a high-performance PC with a budget of around $3000 USD, mainly for gaming, content creation (video editing, maybe some 3D work), and a bit of future-proofing. I'm gonna do it bros, pulling the trigger on that taichi 7900xtx
>>103106674AMD was respected because it lowered the barrier of entry, people didn't care that the new game barely ran at 720p@30, it fucking ran and it was fun.
so hold on do the 9000/9950X3D have the 3D cache on both CCDs or still just on one?

>>103106834>>103106871it makes sense for it to be both since they found a way to maintain the clock speed with 3d cacheoverclocked 9950x3d should theoretically be the best cpu in terms of performance thus, should be a productivity beast since its got high cache, high clocks when boosted and avx 512

AMD Ryzen 5 8500GvsAMD Ryzen 5 9600XOne is double the price of the other...whats better? im using a webpage that compares stuff and says the 8500g is better
