>>103118884>dont launch them overpriced just to bring the prices down next month Surge price for new product is fine. Once the demand/production capacity dies down, the prices can come down to real value. Before that, its free money sitting on table.
>>103118982As someone who has been here awhile it's bizarre seeing someone defend pricing like this.People used to completely brush off the MSRP of products as the street price was always lower for most things even at launch. How things have fallen I guess
>>103119000>used toI used to be able to buy a burger for $1 too
>>103118946why did you stupid faggots vote for the orange retard
>>103119000I've been here long enough time to understand how the market works and how production works. When a new product is released, they are still ramping up and there is a lot of demand for it. If 5,000 people/week want to buy a product but you can only produce 1000 a week, you're just leaving 4000 customers dry anyway. Instead, you just increase the price by 50-100 and the demand drops from 5000/w down to 1000/w. So now you have perfect amount of production rate and demand rate. This is most efficient. 1000 people still get served no matter what. Once the production rate increase to 2000/w, you lower the price 50-100 and then you get 2000/w demand. Supply magically doesn't increase overnight, it has be to built up over the course of months. Adjustment of demand isn't anything to do with ethics, since the you still will only serve a static number of demand due to limited demand.
>>103119050Alternatively, you could create a line/que system where people wait for weeks/months. But that line/que system is based on first in first out. With a surge price, the line/que system is actually based on needs basis. People who really really really want it will pay extra to get ahead, while people who are only considering upgrade will wait a bit for prices to fall down and think smarter.

>>103119050Clearly you haven't been here long enough to experience when a product was released, it was fucking released, none of this soft or paper launches being the norm everywhere. It's not impractical to have stock actually ready. Maybe if they held the fuck up you wouldn't be beta testing CPUs so much. I can only guess you like this atmosphere.
>>103119050I wonder how long the 9800X3D will stay in prime "production" before they switch to selling lower core parts like the 7600X3D over the overpriced 7800X3D. We know these are all just cast-offs of EPYC chips so how much and how long they can stockpile these parts for the DIY market is an open question (they are purpose making these SKUs to sell on their own merits). The 5800X3D had a very short lifespan as a viable CPU option before being supplanted by the 5700X3D & 5600X3D at MicroCenters.
>>103118922>The mental gymnasticsIt's called reality, dumb fuck. This is why MSI, Gigabyte, and ASUS are all aggressively expanding to higher-margin segments like monitors and PSU.What did the EVGA CEO planned to do after cutting ties with NVIDIA? As mentioned, without a CPU upgrade the card ceiling will be in the 3060-4060Ti range.>if I had to choose the 3060 or 4060...It's nuanced. The 3060 has more VRAM (there is no 16GB 4060) but the 4060 gets frame gen. If you want to be technical about it, choose based on what games you play. If neither feature matters to you then I'd say to take the 4060 because it's newer. More support for driver updates and, FWIW, it's a lot more efficient. The proper question to ask is how much money are you willing to throw at this thing?
>>103120213It does happen when corporations are trying to shore up losses and appeal to the public. I don't actually want them to try that though, except maybe as a technical exercise, because custom software integration is a massive pain for the end user. Just avoiding XBGB is enough of an improvement.
>>103120458>PR teamsFinancial analysts in PR teams are also useful for calculating blowback, but you're likely correct and Public Relations isn't the proper field to list for this stratagem. However, it is why Reagonomics worked in the first place, or the bailouts (under bush, obama et al) reconsolidated wealth into the upper echelons. Just look at gas prices per president; they do it every cycle. "Muh oppression" is feeds liberal boners to fight for immigration, which brings stagnant wages, low trust society for division to keep focus on anything other than the wealth transfer, lower quality of life as distributed through increased costs of living. Another example would be when Dems get too brazen for their econonic policies like during the Occupy Movement, they get punished. so they distract this with more even more oppressed minorities (LGBTQIA+) as a distraction. Or when Dems, try to get cocky in tax policies etc switch with a Republican that opposes those things while having those immigrant voters and previously oppressed swear off their allegiance with a betrayal vote, and bring prices down so more wealth consolidation and a bigger piece of the pie can be gained for the 1%. It's modus operandi for the uniparty at this point. Even now, they're pushing only the "educated" population votes for Dems to keep the segments of the population firmly planted in their tribalist positions, thus preventing any unionization efforts because it shuns the working class by design. All in all, the division of the population is firmly in place to be harvested with greater wealth going to the top wealth holders, and their winning the war because the tribalist division of issues plays into the duality strategy of picking what you want the media to focus on and because the tribalists within the divisions can't see the war while it's raging.
>>1031205962 sticks are almost always better, and empty dimm slots can even cause problems sometimes.Ram has pretty great resell value so most of the time selling your old set makes more sense that getting another pair to add to it.It also saves you the money from getting a 4 slot mobo and lowers power consumption.
>>103120789>it's less underpriced and more understockedYou're getting there. It's /either/ underpriced /or/ understocked. Two sides of the same coin.At present, demand for the product exceeds local supply which creates an arbitrage opportunity (which we call scalping). If the MSRP was at at the equilibrium price then no such opportunity would exist in the main. Alternatively, if supply was sufficient to meet demand then the equilibrium price would be lower (with a soft floor at MSRP).
>people cannot wait four days for AMD to restock the 9800X3DFOMO is silly.
>>103120825That's not what I'm askingThe cl28 ram set I want doesn't go to 64gb, it is a 2 stick set of 32gb totalSo I want to double that up because I need at least 64gb for my work>>103120618So are you saying I should or should not? It's DDR5 6000MT cl28Would shoving 4 sticks of the same exact brand and model in my motherboard and just enabling EXPO not work or hinder performance?
>500€ oleds in 25.5% vatlandrip miniled as a technology
>>103120938This is the ram I wanna double up on
>>103120938If you're not into manual memory overclocking, stay away from 4 sticks. 2 sticks of high density 2x32gb or 2x48gb memory will be much easier to run and will have the interleaving benefit of 4 sticks while being able to run at 6000mhz+ without stability problems
>>103120975I don't need it to run at higher than 6000 since 9800x3d doesn't scale that wayBut I can't find DDR5 6000mt with cl 28 sets of 2x32gb or 2x48gb anywhere
>>1031209904 sticks is difficult to even run at 5200 without FAFOing in the bios
I've been using my system with a Ryzen 5 7600's iGPU to test it out. Will I need to use DDU or something to uninstall the AMD iGPU drivers when I get my proper GPU or can I just insert the new GPU and let Windows do its thing?
>>103120990>But I can't find DDR5 6000mt with cl 28 sets of 2x32gb or 2x48gb anywhereThose were announced by gskill about 3 months ago but arent available yet
>>103121001FuckWhy isn't there DDR5 6000mt with CL28 at higher than 32gb sets?>>103121036FuckDid they announce a release date?
>>103121033I think you can enable and disable iGPU usage in BIOS.

Does the 9800X3D work worse on 6400mt ram or above because of some ratio? Or doesn't it make a difference?
>>103121158you can force 1:1 mode at any mhz above 6000. golden samples can run 6600 at 1:1 while a 99% of am5 ryzens can do 6200 at 1:1.so a safe justwerks kit would be 6000cl30
Do non modular PSU have a slightly higher idle power consumption? Like some devices that still consume a little power when connected even when not turned on.

>>103121207no, why would you think they'd be any different to modular PSUs?
>>103121196Is this for manual tinkering?I just wanna enable expo and be done with it
