11.11 edition, check the calendar bellow

Everything is already from China, but in here we discuss the cheap chink shit you see on various sites.

1st rule of /csg/: if it looks too good to be true, it probably is.

Is it actually worth waiting for consoomer electronics day for iems and stuff or it won't make much difference? Especially that I'm planning to get stuff fitting various categories, so can't do them in 1 day anyway
>>
>>103141410
my experience in the past few choice weeks is that everything is cheaper on day 1, then they slowly go up in price to get you to buy the thing in your wishlist
i can't tell if it's the same for 11.11 this time around. it could be possible they'll go down on the designated days

No camera can beat a stereoscopic microscope for that, but I guess it's better than nothing.

They all more or less deliver on the specs they promise, so just look at the features you need and satisfy you.

Am I too late to prepare for 11.11?
>>

I have one of these and it actually works surprisingly well. The main issue being the stand and mount being really flimsy and plasticky, could certainly use something more stable.

I mean put all the good stuff before tarrifs start in my cart.
>>
>>103141932
I thought of making one, and newer phones have really good cameras for taking macro shots, but the issue is having to have the phone or USB camera really close to the target & not being able to get your hands/tools in there to perform parts harvesting and repairs.
>>103141979
>>103142013
That's interesting, thanks.
>>
>>103142096
Ehh definitely too late then.
I also heard they may want to apply the tariffs retroactively so you may have to pay up extra for the stuff you already bought up to 3 years before.

Is it possible to buy a multi-port charger to replace the 5 chargers that I have on my desk, right now?

Each works with PD on different port and accepts different cables.
What I need to charge is my tablet, laptop and laptop with PD 40w, and phone with 15w, and occasionally keyboard and headphones on old style usb A.

I'm in 3rd world so it has to be reasonably cheap, but at the same time not burn my house.
>>
>>103142631
chances are devices in the other ports will have lower charging speed when your laptop is sucking in most of the juice
>>
>>103142721
It's not even to have several devices charging at the same time, but it'd be good if having the laptop and phone connected at the same time wouldn't cause overheating. The laptop is priority, but it's mostly to remove all the clutter and reduce cables and remembering what goes where.
>>
Aliexpress keeps logging me out and then shows me those scam/bait new customer prices. Fucking annoying ass website.
>>
>>103142798
yeah it'll work and overheating/housefires aren't really a problem with circuitbreakers and fuses in modern day chargers
>>
>>103142954
One of the csg chargers from a bundle deal literally burned when I connected headphones and keyboard to both ports. It was supposed to be a gift so I'm happy it did burn before I gave it away and without damaging my devices.

NTA but how well does zooming/focus work? I have a "1600x" one and while if you put it really close to the source you can definitely see the fine details like individual pixels in a 2k 5 inch screen, the camera has trouble focusing through the rest of the range.

Speaking of watch straps, any Casiofags here know any good cheapo NATO strap adapters for a GW-M5610, and/or bullbars? Been thinking about getting one in case the resin straps breaks like they usually do.
>>
>>103145200
i honeslty think you should keep one set of nylons and one set of rubber because consumer electronic devices like smartwatches are limited by their internal battery more than anything else
but then again, these tariffs mean that this is your last chance to buy shit before you have to grab it from amazon with a 20 or 60% mark-up

nono, biden passed a tariff on EV car manufacturing or something so the american industry doesn't get outpriced
the 20/60% tariff is a proposed trump tax for ALL imports coming from outside of the us

Lol what this Country fucking sucks.
>>
>>103145465
the EV tariff makes sense because the US is a car society and a lot of jobs and innovation is needed to stay there
a general income tax is just cruel and only serves to punish the entire population, especially the lower-middle class. it also allows corps to monopolise its domestic customers

i'm not a single issue voter but i would tell everyone i know to vote the opposite party if something like this ever happened
i hope you chuds didn't vote for trump because you hate immigrants in exchange for tipping your government every time you buy something because fuuuuuuck that
>>

So, they are only going to punish the little man who wants to order chinkshit, but Bezos can continue to buy chinkshit for cheap and sell it with 300% markup? Amazing.
>>
>>103145530
Reminder:
-After Nixon abolished the gold standard the value of the US dollar became arbitrary rather than tied to the value of gold
-All of world's currencies are pegged to the US dollar, and their value is influenced by the value of the US dollar
-The value of the US dollar is regulated by the US Federal Reserve, which is composed of privately owned banks

US' recession is your recession as well, whether you use Euros, pounds, Aussie/Canuck dollars, whatever. The recession that is approaching is global, it's a question of who gets the shortest stick, and when.
>>
>>103145668
it's always been this way
big businesses can cushion these costs because they order and ship in bulk, they are frequent customers with special business rates and often have partnerships
like for eg. K-Mart in my country has a special deal where they sell Anko branded chinkshit in their stores. you as an individual customer will never have what they can get

>>103145693

>>103145744
>i can't believe this one guy is such a fucking asshole, man.
No matter who would win, shit would be fucked either way, the recession is unavoidable and at this point you can only delay the inevitable. IMO Trump winning was the lesser evil, Kamala was picked for her loyalty to the party and not her merits, and Trump at the very least knows a thing or two about economics.

And if you were born and raised in a post-Soviet country, you know that party favoritism like that is a surefire way to fuck your country over. Happened before the fall of communism, still happens now, and it's the exact same cancer that Americans seemingly never experienced to be wary of shit like that.
>>
>>103145693

One thing's for sure: the global recession is coming, it can only be delayed, and if there's anything you should be preparing for is for having your shit figured out once the entire supply chain shits itself, from the potential Internet blackout down to the basics like clean water and electricity. It won't be apocalyptic, but it will be rough.

Invest now in basic commodities to ensure your personal survival and quality of life. You're expecting the equivalent of the Weimar Republic hyperinflation where even if you had your money in paper, you could just as well use it as wallpaper or burn it to keep yourself warm. So invest that money now when it still holds any value into things that'll be indispensable once this value perishes.

2 things i remember are:
-wanted to pull out of the universal mail treaty
-passed the "hong kong bill" which stripped hong kong's economic trading partner status. if you checked your tracking on chinkshit a few years ago, almost everything got routed through yuen long in hong kong (this place shares a border with china) for cheaper and faster delivery to your country. now they just do it straight from china to your doorstep and we paid the cost

i just find all his economic policies punitive and punishing. it's like he does everything to either get votes or to fuck the average person over in the interim.

I think specific seller coupons apply only to their stuff so it's probably better to use the global codes if you get stuff from multiple sellers.
>>
protip: if you've wishlisted something and haven't followed the shop yet then do it now
might get lucky with a follower coupon on the store page that's valid for 24hr
>>
>>103146560
Better, as in they have a better likelihood of working? I still don't know if those global codes are one use only. You know, so that I'd have to bulk buy what I want, use the code and order then because I won't be able to use it again later.
>>
>>103146577
>Better, as in they have a better likelihood of working?
Better as in you can only use one code for entire shopping cart, so if you use a global one it applies to everything in the cart, while seller's code only applies to his stuff.
>>
>>103146672
Okay, but if I buy two things with one global code now, I will still be able to use that code later when I want to buy more things, right?
>>
>>103146682

>>
>>103146682

AFAIK you can only use a single code once, BUT there's usually multiple codes giving the same discount if you look around, so that's not really an issue.

All my code fears were for nothing, wouldn't go through and the FOMO kicked in. Bought two things, EPZ Q1 Pro's and a Timemore Black Mirror Basic 2. I already have a Timemore C3 ESP PRO that's in the country to pick up, should be enough to indulge in my hobbies for a while.
>>
>>103146882
Did you at least try multiple codes?
>>
>>103146897
None of it would go through because of my adblocking (uBO+Pi Hole) and I was FOMOing too hard to try and figure it out. I also realized that in my FOMO I picked the wrong cable type for the EPZ's, but, whatever, if it breaks I can order some other one. I wanted lighter IEM's and I wanted a precise coffee scale, so deal or no deal, I pulled the band-aid off. That's what I get for not preparing ahead of time and then trying to figure everything out all at once while sleep depraved.

>>
>>103146965
If you want to get more into photography, look for used Nikon DSLR's IMO. Tripods and ringlights can only get you so far when your camera has fixed optics and a tiny sensor. A 20 year old DSLR will slaughter whatever top end smartphones of today have to offer in terms of photo quality and adjustment.

Try looking for a used Nikon D80, don't fret about the megapixels and whatnot, it'll still deliver better quality than a smartphone and will be a good starting point for learning how a proper camera with lenses works.

Some quick tips:
-a "body" is just the full camera, but you will need a lens to take a photo. Chances are the offers you'll find will come with one, or several.
-the "mileage" parameter you might find relates to the camera shutter. It's delicate and has a limited lifespan per body, defined in the number of photos taken. Sellers tend to state it beforehand, it's saved in the EXIF data of the photos and it's easy to check the average lifespan of a given body.

I borrowed a D70s for learning myself and it's sensor is really good despite being far behind the current curve, better than a smartphone, but I still need to learn shit like lens choice, aperture size, shutter speed, and all the parameters that actually go into photography, which is what you'll be doing with a D80 like that as well. I'm sure you can find some online photography communities that'll help you out more.

You dont want your sound card to be inside your computer, its very electrically noisy. A USB dac thats kept away from the computer is the best

My motherboard audio sucks with all the background hisses and clicks and clearly audible emi from gpu, ssd and usb (I could literally tell whether my ssd is reading or writing or whether my gpu is running in 3d mode by noise patterns)
Also there is output impedance vs driver impedance compatibility, it's not noise but more like subtle eq that you can't disable and some people even like the way high output impedance affects sound.
>>
>>103147903
On board audio can be noisy and/or have high impedance. My laptop for example has a noticeable hiss with pretty much all IEMs, even with those not so sensitive ones. I need a dongle for it so I don't go crazy.
If you already have a sound card powerful enough for your headphones (and no hiss), you don't need to bother.

Don't listen to that retard. Buying chinkshit doesn't require deep esoteric knowledge.
If a listing has an exceptionally low price and no reviews and a low number or no orders, it's likely to be a scam.
Also watch out for stores that were created in the last few months or stores that have a low score, <90%. Not necessarily scams but more likely to be.
>What should I get?
Just get whatever you need and if you don't need anything then save the grand. You don't have to consoom, you know. Or you can get consumables or repair items like sticky tape, glue, velcro strips, bolts and nuts, shit like that.
>>
>>103147847

>>
Sale almost here and I'm realizing I don't really need anything. I have urge to consoooom but I can't justify it : (
>>
>>103147903
The difference won't be a "wow new dimension" one, but a "less noise, distortion and other unpleasantries" one. Nowadays the tech got so far you don't need to splurge out a lot to have a decent DAC/AMP device. Look at Audio Science Review forums for measurements to choose one that'll be good for your budget.

Also, given from what I understand (not American btw), if the tariffs get imposed and absolutely all goods from China get more expensive, that'll mean shit you'd get on Amazon/Newegg/etc, so you should probably focus on grabbing higher end commodities like that as well, not just Ali chinkshit.

i'd say, you can also bump up a little bit to D90. it has video recording. its the first DSLR with video, in fact. which is quite handy. the video quality is acceptable for 720p24, pair it with a cheap 50mm 1.8 lens and you will get that 'pro' cine look to your footage. although there are some jankiness like LED lights will appear strobing and fast panning shots will give you jello effect, its still better than not having video at all.

> cheapo NATO strap adapters
I tried a handful off of aliexpress, but it's hard to get one that fits your model perfectly without any annoying overhang at the edge of the case. As for the very popular bulky plastic adapters, they're functional but ungodly ugly. I also have the 5610 and I would go for a 22mm adapter as the 20mm looks weird for the proportions of the 5610. I really like this adapter from jaysandkays, but it looks like it's out of stock. It's pretty nicely machined and doesn't have the candy coating shitty PVD that the cheap aliexpress adapter I got has. https://www.ebay.com/itm/274007489794 They still have their non-machined cheaper small g-shock adapter but it just looks worse in my opinion. Hopefully they get more stock of the better one. If you are less autistic about what you attach to your gshock, I'd just look at the attached pic and get one with that sort of design. The most important part is that adapters designed for bigger gshocks will technically fit smaller ones generally because they all have 16mm lugs but the overhang will look retarded. Look in the listing to see if it is designed to work with the 5610. Good luck.
>bullbars
Those are ugly and mostly pointless so I wouldn't get them, but it seems like either aliexpress or jaysandkays would be fine.
>been thinking about getting one in case the resin straps breaks
This is a dumb reason, it took many years of use for the strap to break on my F91 which has a much shittier/thinner strap than a gshock. With that said it's worth it for comfort to have a breathable strap, I have my 5610 on a marine nationale style strap and it is very comfortable.

Is this a good pick for dashcam or will it be literal garbage chinkshit? I am struggling to find something that isn't a fucking .gif recording toy (and frankly have no idea what specifics to look for)
>>
>>103149657
Several years ago I looked into getting a dashcam and I finally didn't even get one, so this information from someone who knows fuckall is also possibly outdated.
Here's the thing, all chinkshit dashcams use the same sensor so they all look pretty much the same and the supposedly good ones aren't all that good, really.
Do you really need the video to look good? Probably not, but it put me off.
Things to consider:
>power modes
Does it turn on with the car, does it have an internal energy storage so it can record if it detect something while the car is parked, things like that.
>night/low light quality
They are all mostly pretty shit and in the winter, coming back home from work you'll probably be driving in the dark.
>chance of file fuckery
Read reviews about the cam. A surprising amount of dashcams don't seem to be able to perform their sole function because the files are corrupted when you try to open them.

Newer action cameras have the ability to record in a loop, the new Insta360 does and I think other do too. Might be worth a look.
>>

I just found out that Xiaomi air pump has new pro version. It's faster, but lot more expensive than normal version 2, so now I'm not sure which one to get.

One LED has up to 12 lumen. Let's assume 5, since you're running pink light and not white. Your bedroom needs about 140lm/m^2, if you work there, go up to 280lm/m^2.
A 15m^2 bedroom is going to need 4200 lumens, or 840 LEDs. Keep that in mind when choosing the spacing for the strips. I've seen 120 LEDs per meter, if you want 100 feet, that's 30 meters, or 3600 LEDs, or 4 times more light than you actually need. In that case, you can go for the cheaper 30 LEDs per meter version

it does. the 15w tdp is only nominal when idling. typical use will rise up around 20w~30w.
i specifically select this cpu (ryzen 5825u) after min-maxing the price, tdp and core count.

imo its better than n97 in spec and price wise. the n97 is the same tdp, half the cores (because 10nm vs 6nm transistor size), but not half the price.

This 11/11 sucks. Used to be that you’d always get a lot of 1€$£whatever off orders >1€$£ coupons, plus similar coupons from about every store, so you could easily get various cheap stuff for really cheap, but this time, it’s all coupons for big orders. As for jack cables, they're consumables for me since one breaks every year or two

i never see anything cheaper or even at the same ballpark price at Amazon. its always more expensive.

btw, is "regional pricing" or "demographic profiling" a real thing? i heard some anon from /iemg/ said the prices on marketplaces are adjusted depending on your location/ip. for an example, if you're a SEAniger, Ali will be cheaper than Amazon, but if you are a burger, Ali will have the same price as Amazon (more expensive than SEAnigger prices).

>Is it just a meme or does it actually make a difference?
Buying a DAC is only ever necessary if your source has noticeable noise/interference. Most decent motherboards today don't need them as long as you're plugging into the actual motherboard and not the case audio.
A $3 DAC will solve that problem just as well as any other, so don't get memed into buying something more expensive. DAC/AMP stuff is almost as bad as crystal cables when it comes to audiophile snake oil.

DACs fix noise. Cheap one that works is just as good as an overbuilt one. Amps fix volume. You don't need one if your headphones are loud enough. These are the objective facts. I'm sorry you got conned by marketing and audiophile bullshit.
>You've gotta try this new DAC/amp combo from Schittstein AudioDynamics man. It really increased the soundstaging and made the lows buttery smooth
