Anyone tracking the Biwin opal series? 2000 TBW is pretty crazy for a fairly "budget priced" 2 TB nvme drive. I'm wondering what the catch is? Do these fuckers have high failure rates outside of the write/read limitations inherent to nvme drives?

They are all different brands of 5060TI 16gb and 9060xt TI 16gb

depends on what you mean by fine. i just randomly mentioned in the last thread that i was in that exact position and my two 3600mhz kits together would only run at 3200 without errors >>107260660

Max clocks may be limited with 4 sticks. I had to overvolt slightly to get my 3600 CAS 16 kit to run stable at its stock settings.
I don't think AMD can do hybrid dual-channel like Intel, so 3 sticks isn't a thing. (Intel will do dual-channel for 2 sticks and prioritize that RAM usage, and then use the 3rd stick in single-channel mode. I believe AMD just drops it all to single-channel. [Though I may be wrong])
>>
>>107261405
Impossible to know.
Me personally I only stick with SSDs from brands who have a stake in OEM business. Samsung, Micron, WD, seagate, etc.
These companies have a reason for their numbers to be accurate and to be reasonably reliable because the reliability of any OEMs PCs and servers depend on those SSDs and they don't want excessive RMAs

Unless you have a reason for needing a high TBW and want to see if they aren't lying, I wouldn't be interested in any of the random Chinese/Taiwanese brands you see that only serve DIY/retail sales

i do not like noctua fans. they are bad.

my guy they just bout out all NAND, they will buy out all DRAM production next. Its not about sellers lowering their prices, its about them not having shit to sell you because there is no one making it because the silicone supply is cut at the start of the supply chain.
Soon enough your options will be to either scavenge phones for RAM and than play backer with green plate because only phone companies with long-term contracts will get the silicone or to hunt down scalpers who haven't cashed out.

Current RAM is 2x8GB corsair vengeance LPX at 3000 MTs.
The good deal I've found is for a Corsair vengeance RGB RS 2x8GB at 3200 MTs ( basically the only sane choice at this point)
I dont really care about pushing their clocks, and I'm definitely not buying a 4-pack nor a new motherboard at this point. My current motherboard is an ASUS PRIME P X570

Thats the names of the models and brands Eagle is from gygabite, Sapphire is a brand their models are usually pulse, pure etc, Steel Legend is from Asrock. So sometimes those names show you if they are from the better or more budget lines of those brands.
As i said try to find a video or article that compares 5060TI build quality, see if any of those stand out in such article, else just pick one on vibes, the chip will be the same, maybe one with 3 fans?

thermalright is fucking goated dude, those massive 150mm ty-150 fans are thermalright fans i bought in like 2017. they max out at like 1100 rpm but also make a wonderful wooshing noise

same thing with cougar with their old vortex fans. they're extremely solid fans that have a very pleasant noise profile even at 1800 rpm

i cannot say the same about noctua and they cost astronomically more than their competition
>>
>>107261662
In Biwin's case, they are the OEM manufacturer for a few different brands (Acer, HP and Lenovo mainly). They seem to have a good reputation, but I've never bought anything from them before.

The reason for the high TBW is I was going to use it as both a scratch disk and a project drive for my engineering simulation renders. In a busy month, that can end up with ~10-15 TB of read-write.

honestly it doesn't matter as much as it used to when there were brands and models that were to be avoided at all costs. the spendier options will generally be a little cooler and quieter but perform within margin of error of the cheapest ones.
if you do look around for a 5060ti roundup that contains some of the options (this short list I found is far from exhaustive, I'm sure there are better out there) you should prioritize noise over tiny differences in performance from the brands trying to one-up each other with 50mhz ocs
>>
>>107261866
This is horrible when actually building your PC. Nobody talks about that. Get a cooler that's more like that one on the right, way easier to build with and have to hook up fans etc.

>>
>>107261972
you simply put the cpu fans last after mounting the cooler, I know how annoying it is to plug the cpu power cable after you have your assembled tower in the case
>>
>>107262037
What the hell are you talking about, that surely is impossible in a case like the 4000D airflow. Have you even build a PC before? You put the CPU cooler, including the fans, on the motherboard first. I was talking about daisy chaining the case fans and having to plug them into the motherboard.

This has nothing to do with consumers, you are barking at the wrong dog. This has everything to do with Blackrock & Vanguard pushing their shady shit and creating the AI bubble and pushing their manufacturers in the direction they want.
All elements of this price hike are owned by Blackrock & Vanguard. This is entirely manufactured to fuck the regular Joe over, especially the kind of Joe that plays with his homebrew AI toys.
The only thing left is to unironically pray that some chinkgook has mercy and decides to take consumer money by producing some garbage quality RAM for "cheap" because if the rest of the market is 50$ per gigabyte we will buy 25$ per GB and cry tears of joy.

consumers are 100% to blame for GPU prices gradually increasing every generation, because every 2 years they bite the bait of "20 more fps at 4k!!!" and think it's reasonable to spend 1200 on a 5080 or 2000 on a 5090.
the fact that jensen found an even bigger sucker to sell his snake oil, the AI consortium and the US government, doesn't excuse gamers from being so gullible and unreasonable with their purchasing
pc hardware and videogame toys are to manchildren what shoes are to women, you go to those places that discuss chink handhelds like r/SBCgaming and you'll find autists that buy literally every thing that gets released and own 10+ handheld pcs, and they are always americans, germans or brits, yeah, they are to blame too

Out of those the only 5060 TI that its worth is the INNO3D X2, even then thats a little bit expensive so the Swift 9060B for 1589 or the Saphire Pulse are good options, if you only do gaming i think you could live with the 9060 XT but if you ever wanna mess with blender, AI gen, or do some work/streaming the 5060 TI its better, but again anything above the 1949 for the INNO3D is overpaying, only other reason to take the 5060 TI over the 9060 XT is if you are sure you'll be using that pc after the next 5 years as nvidia is more future proof in terms of features or if you really really care about upscaling, RT and PT.
>>
>>107262507

The motherboard is not a big deal, but if they are similarly priced a b850 might last you "longer"
Another anon mentioned that the cpu cooler but the 9600x doesnt bring his own, so dont skip it
if you can find a more suitable ram then the rest is fine if accounting for a more limited choice of parts, you can also check for other cases, i always recommend the montech 903 but there might be cheaper suitable options

>Memory suppliers like Samsung Electronics (005930.KS), opens new tab, SK Hynix (000660.KS), opens new tab and Micron (MU.O), opens new tab are already facing shortages of older dynamic random-access memory products after reducing production to focus on high-bandwidth memory, which is necessary to make the advanced accelerators that power the global AI boom.

I do believe youtube is a huge component in this, probably the biggest one, because the platform is a huge commecial ad disguised as recreational content, people watch hardware unboxed and gamersnexus and see all the new shiny stuff and get excited, without realizing all they do is watch youtube/browse the web/play old games and they don't need new stuff, but the propaganda machine is too hard to resist

of course they are, hence why it isn't consumer's fault.
Blackrock & Vanguard own the manufacturers
Blackrock & Vanguard own Nvidia, Open AI & Microsoft
Blackrock & Vanguard have shares in every single element of the AI bubble and they are actively expanding it
Blackrock & Vanguard are buying, building and supplying their own data centers from their own construction & silicone manufacturer companies.

Can't use negative voltage offsets to undervolt with that B660 board.
Just set a 125W PL1 and PL2 maximum power limit for the 14600K and leave everything else alone.
You could adjust CPU AC/DC load line in the Ai Tweaker tab (DIGI+ VRM or Internal CPU Power Management) if you can access that section.
But you also need to make sure the AC/DC LL values are set to the voltage regulator's correct Load Line Calibration level, or this will trip Intel Current Excursion Protection and downclock your CPU at high CPU loads.

These videos will cover the topic, many tuning options will be disabled in that ASUS Prime board.
The more noob-friendly ASUS CPU tuning feature automatically syncs the VR LLC to the CPU's AC/DC LL values, but I don't know if this feature is available for PRIME boards.

What's the deal with RAM overclocks? I have cl30 6000 2x32GB with a 7800x3d and 5070ti. Is it really as simple as turning on expo in the bios? Will I actually notice a difference?
>>
>>107263227

>>
>>107263227
Anything faster than 1600mhz DDR3 is unnoticeable in 99.99% of use cases.
>>
>>107263227
Expo is not overclock. JEDEC defaults are extra safety mode.
If a ram stick, cpu or motherboard can't run at their respective advertised speeds it's faulty and should be replaced.
Manually settings speed (or timings) faster than advertised maximum is overclock.

Hmm. I wonder how long until 590 branch. Was supposed to be this month. I'm tempted to chance it with a 580 branch seeing as there have been performance improvements noted on those, but I do see that there are reprts of "regressions in compatibility and stability" on 580 branch drivers... Guessing those are probably Windows 11 related though

>looks good but then over time the dust gets in there
>sticks to everything
>gets in the nooks and crannies
>can't just blow it off
>rather hide it and live in blissful ignorance

anyhow adding a filter is often possible (not always).

in general:
-do not use compressed air in a way that it spins your fans, use your finger to keep the fan from spinning when blowing near it
-do not use a vacuum cleaner in there. this can create static and even if it does not immediately zap something it can set up a "latent failure" in ESD sensitive parts (pretty much everything in there)

there are lots of guides on cleaning your PC out there but remember: the more often you poke around inside the greater the odds you will break something

try removing power completely (unplug it) and clearing your CMOS (BIOS reset).

thats not real FSR4, it uses INT8 insutrctions and has no way to access motion vectors which leads to artifacts, ghosting and blurrines as it has no way to deal with temporal antialiasing, basically is dogshit and you are better using the new XESS over it when it comes out as shown here.

no. finger tight is enough, all it needs to do is hold that fan so it' doesn't move. if you still have vibration noise from your fans for some reason you can get some silicon rubber fan mounts to use in place of the screws (not recommended for CPU or GPU fans, case fans only).

It was an ASUS TUF GAMING B850-PLUS and it was lacking 1 pin

did you know that before or after you assembled it?

so not easy to tell if the CPU is burnt or not, you need to ID the pin and map out what it does.

best of luck.

Do you know where i can check the pin id? Sorry for the bad photo but is this one and it was on the bottom part of the block.
Hopefully i didn't fuck it up

i do not but surely you can google for "am5 socket pin layout" or something and find it

i personally would just get another AM5 board and hope for the best, ofc having bad eyesight means i'd need a hella magnifying glass to analyze the pins

was it a new board, can you return it?
>>

Yeah i can return it since its new. From what i can see on the diagram it was a VSS Pin. Also thanks for the replies anon
