I'm tired of being a /beg/, but I feel overwhelmed with complex refs, so I'll grind simple shapes until I can reproduce them perfectly.

#25 is your best. You should try to shade your drawings more often and not rely on line as often. You can really see the form shadows, cast shadows and ambient occlusion in that goblin and it makes the facial features more believable.
>>
>>7351823
>>7351825
you could alternatively just break down portraits and other things you actually want to draw. e.g., grind constructing heads, without putting on the details; just work on getting the broader shape of the head right and mark the proportions of the major features (eyes, nose, mouth, eyebrows, hairline, ears) without actually drawing them. at some point or to some extent you can go a step further and after marking the proportions, draw simplified versions of the features. then work on adding more linear detail, then work on two-value rendering (e.g. one value for darks, another for the lights), etc. with any serious fundamental you're not gonna get perfect at it in a few months: even studying multiple hours a day, it's likely going to take you years to get really good, should you wish to get there. be realistic about how much time you're putting into drawing, what goals you have, and how long it will likely take you to reach them.

he's the new homonculus haunting /ic/. Sucks in all postiive energy and honest critiques under the crushing weight of his zero point ngmi energy and shits out drawings with negative skill. Just looking at them will make you worse

Haunting example of ngmi
>>

Nah man. i beg to differ. This is pure essence of ngmi. It is rare to see something like this in this day and age. How can something have negative appeal

Any solid advice/ref for how the booby attach to the pec and how the skin overlays it? I've stared hard at so many various tits but I cannot connect the dots on how it is attached to the rest of the chest
This has been my most challenging form issue by a large margin

Care to elaborate? Because other than jumping into shading before finishing the rest of the linework, I'd say the head is not only too big for the chest/hands, but also haphazardly placed. The ear is not where the back of the neck meets the skull, so you got a weird ball jointed head.
Where's the other arm, is the torso turned sideways to the viewer?

Yes, downward looks better, but it didn't look that stiff to begin with imo
>>
>>7352060
cool, what is this a study of? some game?
>>7352113
yes... but it's bizzare, i think me slightly tilting the fingers made it less dynamic
Either that, or it's because dynamicity is literally inbalance. So wrongly defined forms and wrong proportions might make the drawing feel dynamic... just my theory

full sketch of the body. my bad for not posting the whole thing initially. i had a feeling the head was too big and misplaced. i'll be able to fix that when i'm working again
>>7352112
possibly. i think i'll try and move the eyes closer together or something
>>7352113
it's a lot more stiff than my usual stuff. probably from attempting tk draw in a different style or the way i drafted it. i got ahead of myself and drew the head first since i was excited to use sai again

how do I better my approach to gesture studies? been using line of action and reading through a Michael Hampton book (albeit slowly), but struggling to find the best place to start, as well as figuring out the underlying structure and getting it right, especially when the body twists or foreshortening comes into it. Also want to start getting heads looking more like heads instead of ovals, or at least get it where the head is at least looking at the right direction more clearly?
>>
Is it worth delving into atelier style drawing? I can see drawing a few bargue plates would help you feel the form better, but it looks like a really arduous process.

Also, are there any good videos you guys would recommend on this topic?
