>>7351790Thanks OP. You're a real one.
>>7351790dios mio... what is that thing in the bottom left
Dracula. Feel like I'm getting better with faces, but it's nowhere near as expressive as the reference
>>7351790
Fucked up the fingers I know. Also my "future scifi outfit" is just too straight TOS+TOS movie, and not enough original design
Reworked the skull a little but tried to make it look as "evil as possible". I will now work on the beast she is sitting on...
I'm tired of being a /beg/, but I feel overwhelmed with complex refs, so I'll grind simple shapes until I can reproduce them perfectly.
>>7351823for reference, this is what my normal studies look like
>>7351825#25 is your best. You should try to shade your drawings more often and not rely on line as often. You can really see the form shadows, cast shadows and ambient occlusion in that goblin and it makes the facial features more believable.
>>7351823>>7351825you could alternatively just break down portraits and other things you actually want to draw. e.g., grind constructing heads, without putting on the details; just work on getting the broader shape of the head right and mark the proportions of the major features (eyes, nose, mouth, eyebrows, hairline, ears) without actually drawing them. at some point or to some extent you can go a step further and after marking the proportions, draw simplified versions of the features. then work on adding more linear detail, then work on two-value rendering (e.g. one value for darks, another for the lights), etc. with any serious fundamental you're not gonna get perfect at it in a few months: even studying multiple hours a day, it's likely going to take you years to get really good, should you wish to get there. be realistic about how much time you're putting into drawing, what goals you have, and how long it will likely take you to reach them.
Something's wrong. Not sure what. Can anyone point it out?(The arrow is just telling me to fix the belt tomorrow)
>>7351796he's the new homonculus haunting /ic/. Sucks in all postiive energy and honest critiques under the crushing weight of his zero point ngmi energy and shits out drawings with negative skill. Just looking at them will make you worse
>>7351901Just another day on /ic/, he fits right in.
>>7351901Haunting example of ngmi
>>7351905Nah man. i beg to differ. This is pure essence of ngmi. It is rare to see something like this in this day and age. How can something have negative appeal
>>7351912But No-one is gonna make it in this board anyways, so what's the difference with the rest of the freaks here?
>>7351930That moai guy ascended out of this hell hole. Heck, even Pawell make it out of this shithole. There's hope for the damned.
Any solid advice/ref for how the booby attach to the pec and how the skin overlays it? I've stared hard at so many various tits but I cannot connect the dots on how it is attached to the rest of the chestThis has been my most challenging form issue by a large margin
>>7351935>That moai guy ascended out of this hell hole.he still posts all the time though
>>7351988Where?
Is there a place where I can go to see all of the ic memes throughout the years? I'm working on something and wanna have references to the inside jokes like the just pet the dog or the dick perspective thread
>>7351989he just posted >>7347412i see him around frequently, he just stopped making threads
>>7351992You can start with this thread >>7296663This was the earlier one I think >>6668011 (you will have to check it in the archives though, 4plebs or whatever)

>>7351898Clothes have volume. Pulling clothes pulls it on end point in equal lenght.
Day 30 complete!One more day!
study, rates appreciated
What do you do on those days nothing you draw seems to come out right?
>>7352066https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=84g-uGGkjrc
>>7352060The perspective looks really nice. Well done, oynon.
>>7352066Keep on drawing, as those days are everyday for me.
difficult for me to figure out how to make it stop looking off
MEDSMAP TONGUE MY ANUS
>>7352066If you're smart, you'll take a break
>>7352081Care to elaborate? Because other than jumping into shading before finishing the rest of the linework, I'd say the head is not only too big for the chest/hands, but also haphazardly placed. The ear is not where the back of the neck meets the skull, so you got a weird ball jointed head.Where's the other arm, is the torso turned sideways to the viewer?
>>7352081this any better?>>7352105how do you expect to get good by copying something so ugly
>>7352112Yes, downward looks better, but it didn't look that stiff to begin with imo
>>7352060cool, what is this a study of? some game?>>7352113yes... but it's bizzare, i think me slightly tilting the fingers made it less dynamicEither that, or it's because dynamicity is literally inbalance. So wrongly defined forms and wrong proportions might make the drawing feel dynamic... just my theory
>>7352109full sketch of the body. my bad for not posting the whole thing initially. i had a feeling the head was too big and misplaced. i'll be able to fix that when i'm working again>>7352112possibly. i think i'll try and move the eyes closer together or something>>7352113it's a lot more stiff than my usual stuff. probably from attempting tk draw in a different style or the way i drafted it. i got ahead of myself and drew the head first since i was excited to use sai again
>>7352112Morpho is a good teacher retard, a lot of jap animators copy him. Though I'd advise anon to not worry about the faces, I can't stand them either
>>7352116>>7352112nevermind i can see what else was changed now. i think i like the position of the head better on your fix. i'll see what i can do with it
>>7352116the problem with your eyes is that they are not on the same plane, like they are in actual peoplerefer to pic relI tried to nudge them in the right direction
>>7352126oh i see it now my bad again. eye planes fuck me up so there's no surprise therei moved things around but i'll have to look it over it in the morning
>>7352136looking good, anon
>>7352118a teacher is as good as his results
>>7352139>Gestures broadly at all the bridgman and Loomis permabegs on this board. I mean if we're going to play this game you already lost.
>>7352140>lostyou mean won? Bridgman and loomis are shit too
crabs just screech about everything being shit and the reason they couldn't make it
>>7351898couldnt fix it sorry
how do I better my approach to gesture studies? been using line of action and reading through a Michael Hampton book (albeit slowly), but struggling to find the best place to start, as well as figuring out the underlying structure and getting it right, especially when the body twists or foreshortening comes into it. Also want to start getting heads looking more like heads instead of ovals, or at least get it where the head is at least looking at the right direction more clearly?
Is it worth delving into atelier style drawing? I can see drawing a few bargue plates would help you feel the form better, but it looks like a really arduous process. Also, are there any good videos you guys would recommend on this topic?
