>>64725656You seem to misunderstand, AI as we know it isn’t “emulating what humans do” or even really learning. We give it a data set, let it create a series of correlations, then let it loose. Even LLMs are just a series of correlations on syntax and it can only replicate what has been fed in to it. It didn’t learn anything, it just used statistics to figure out the best way to correlate the millions of objects you gave it. We’ve seen more success with smaller, more niche models than the generalization that major models are trying to push. Same with coding: it’s pulling from really shitty repositories filled with jeet code that is a copy of other horrendous jeet code, with a sprinkling of good content. It’s ability to generate actual good, working code unless it is tailor fed a smaller, reviewed, and professional code set it’s going to pump out shit. This doesn’t even start to mention security concerns, testing issues, actually knowing how they work, consistency issues (generates a different output for the same question each time) or how it’s being wielded by the biggest retards by society publicly. A good example is AlphaFold in the biochemistry: it can make predictions but it hasn’t really solved anything, only streamlined the process. We still need a human at the end of the work chain because AI can’t be trusted to give a consistent and accurate answer reliably. For fuck’s sake, it can’t even solve PhD physics problems, it gets confused over symbology.Has it made things easier for certain fields? Yes, but proper professionals aren’t using it as a human replacement tool. Let’s not even mention how LLMs have had the “throw more compute at it” dead end and scaling is seeing diminishing returns rapidly.
>>64725656>This isn't really correct. While certain areas of the brain do have increased work in certain tasks, virtually all functions occur via wide neuronal networks; individual sections are not "small brains" or self contained. We know that the brain is composed of specialized sub brains because we have plenty of data from people with localized brain damage. And these sub brains are part of a very complex multidimensional lattice that forms a central gestalt aka you. LLMs are crude constructs comparable to insect brains, but much larger. From the fossil record we know that large brains are exceptionally hard to develop. This is hardly surprising, since you need to mutate several genes to get a larger brain that actually works. And that is just size, nobody understands how brain structure can evolve because this is far far more complex that just making something larger. And we have no clue how that works. If we had, we could turbo accelerate the evolution of machine intelligence and get actual, real working intelligence. So this LLM stuff is just snake oil, a get rich quick scheme riding on boomer fears of missing out. So, in evolutionary terms, our LLMs are comparable to the creatures of the cambrian explosion. That was like 600 million years ago. And during most of the history of life on Earth, animals had tiny simple brains. It was not until very recently that animals with large brains evolved into being.

>>64753328I don't entirely disagree.I'm not trying to suck off Holosun as much as I am trying to shame the legacy companies for not innovating anymore. Holosun is not a particularly high quality product, but then again red dots aren't sophisticated tech anymore, either. If the Chinks can come up with a relatively inexpensive NV/IR optic, even if it's just a shitty novelty, why can't AP or EO do something cool? Instead we get another $800 magnifier or vudu scope nobody will buy.
Obviously it will be far worse than a dedicated option, but this could suit some people. I'm sure alot of poorfags trying to get into night vision would buy it before eventually buying something better and more focused. Its fucking hilarious how we circle back around though. I just got a high paying job and in celebration I'm going to update my arsenal. Pls give input on my choices for these roles and let me know if there's something better:>Ruger SFAR as main DMR rifle, open to other short receiver .308 ARs or a .308 bullpup>M&P9 or 10mm Witness as handgun, I do live in grizzly country and this will be my primary HD/clearing gun>Kel Tec RDB as building clearing/HD rifle>KSG as HD shotgun>Mossberg Aftershock as drone gun to be worn on a scabbard, can also double as bear gun with slugs>300WM rifle as sniper (undecided but either a cheapo Savage bolty or go all in and get a Desert Tech SRS for $6k)Already have my carry guns set and most of the common rifles for range funs but want specific ones that best fill those roles. What are your go-to's?

>>64753795I've never had a gun break except an SCCY and Mossberg. It's not really a thing that happens. My rifle isn't going to blow up because it has a Ruger rollmark on it. Even the Kel Tecs aren't at risk of detonating. You don't need to spend thousands for a gun to work, they're not hard to make. It's like 1500s technology. Just avoid late stage capitalism cheap outs like plastic parts and it should be fine. I'm not really planning on bringing the Kel Tecs to war though. All those have to do is put down like 4 monkeys tops if they break into my house.
>>64753902get a mp5 with a can because it's fun and cheap to shoot
>>64753766Not to be autistic, but a 10" is also too loud, the flash is too great, and concedes both terminal ballistics unless the right ammo is used and also concedes a lot of AP capability if your opponent is wearing plates. Plates are cheaper than they've basically ever been and they are increasingly mainstream. Obviously train for failure drills (in the dick!) but it's still an issue to be contended with.M855 does not reliably pop all PE plates for example at low velocities. It reliably punches through 98% of them at over 3,000ft/s. For another, unrelated thought, it just got found out in /gq/ and it raised a huge shitstir that the budget Level IV plate everyone has been using, the Hesco 4403, has basically no headroom above Level IV spec and M2AP reloaded just 20-30ft/s above NIJ spec (2,910ft/s) will pen a conditioned plate. Anon getting a long schlong .300 winmag and learning to reload would fulfill that larp fantasy nicely.

The guy selling it on Amazon is straight up selling runny craft glue and should be drenched in pepsi crystal for his crimes. To answer anon's question, there is a lot of depth to threadlocker besides just red or blue or green or purple. See pic rel.I use blue (243) for optics and other accessories that aren't heat-loaded. If I need heat resistance like on a brake I go genuine Rocksett (buy direct to avoid third party bullshit). Haven't needed a reason for red yet. Vibra-tite is easier to break away if you like removing stuff and could probably sub for blue loctite if I'm reading torque values correctly. Loctite has industrial threadlockers above the reds, but I wouldn't mess with those for gun stuff. There's already horror stories daily with red threadlocker. Green penetrates, orange is higher strength than blue but still removeable without heat, etc. Purple is fine for low-strength stuff.
Would going to an Appleseed course be worth it? I've never had any instruction in shooting and there's a few coming up within driving distance so the cost would be low. I'd use a 10/22 with an LVPO.It kind of seems like it's all old people and kids in the basic courses, though admittedly, that's probably better than getting there and finding a bunch of spergs my own age trying to look cool. I doubt I'll find a more accessible form of training but I'm not sure if this is the best format. Like how much is shooting and how much is just listening to the instructors give a history lesson?I also understand they put a lot of emphasis on sling use but the USGI sling they use seems pretty clunky from some of the videos I've seen so I may never swap to it but I do think having someone actually watching and give me feedback might help, especially if it's assumed I have no knowledge upon arrival.Anyone that's been to one want to give your impressions?

>The Americans can no longer be trusted>Russia is threatening>China is threatening>The Americans are threateningWhy don’t all countries just acquire nuclear weapons? If sufficient numbers of countries take this step then all threats of sanctions from non-compliance lose their significance. Israel already set the precedent by showing how nuclear weapons inspections and the sanctions tied to them have no meaning.First one should build a large stockpile of nerve agents and genetically modified biological weapons so that deterrence remains in effect while the bombs are being built. Olympic pools of VX being pumped to cheap drones with spray tanks would be enough since the poison will remain in the terrain as microscopic droplets for months thus neutralizing enemy population centers even if the vast majority of launches are intercepted.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MGE_oMVJ50I
