Eh, for everything that isn't a collector piece I buy 9mm, 5.56, .308, and 12ga. Not because they are the best, but they are the most ubiquitous. No matter where you are you always have good ammo selection in those 4 calibers/ga. Any increased performance from different cartridges I'm really not going to notice.
