I remember when Kodak used to be all about photos.
I also remember them being a longtime sponsor of the Imagination Pavillion at EPCOT.
Sucks how everything I mentioned went to shit.
At least the Beretta 92 and Glock 19 will never go to shit

That is what's called suppressing fire, you overwhelm the opposing side with a steady torrent of firepower which they can't match, then you move in to shoot and kill, optionally capture if the situation permits.

Ammo is cheap when you're a developed military force, but I wonder if that number is entirely accurate, and accounts for stuff like enemies being killed in air strikes or artillery strikes.

>>64758657
I've heard the statistic before.

>>64758659
From an individual private person standpoint, sure, but you and me don't get into pitched firefights with Muslims or/and Russians on the daily.

The study of combat records of WW2 and Korea showed two pretty fucking consistent and important things.
First, whichever side has the most ammo with them and can maintain a collective high rate of fire the longest usually won.
Two, riflemen NEVER fire beyond 300yds, in fact it's pretty uncommon for them to take shots beyond 200yds.

It does. Using .308" projectiles in a .311" bore just means they will rattle around like a slim jim in a trashcan. You will never get good accuracy shooting Russian crap with Americn bullets. This is why Russia loses to Ukraine.
>>
>>64758580
There are entire books written about this, the USSR didn't do shit the Czar did. Russia spent half a century using US made rifling machines because they couldn't make their own. After WW2 they got new ones from the US and the old ones fixed and a few are still in use right now. It wasn't them being clever it was them being poor and incompetent.

North Grumman posted this video:
Does this mean that the XM1182 HEAB-T is finally in use?

Also a few follow-up questions:
>could this setup be used as an "ad-hoc" C-RAM platform?
>so now in theory every platform with an M230LF could become an C-UAS platform? (+a MHR radar)
>could this ammo be used with the AH-64s? Israelis have recently used them as drone hunters.

What are the best filaments you guys are using for frames and gun parts? Is it still PLA + or are the different carbon/glass infused filaments better?

>>64742368
PLA +, all of the doped filaments are side grades unless you're having warping issues which they can help with. The main limit on print strength is layer adhesion with decent designs. Doped fibers usually have worse layer adhesion than a normal polymer blend so they don't tend to be functionally stronger. Also you're dealing with shit like carbon fibers being kicked up into the air too. Should probably have an air purifier running next to your printer though anyways tbqh.
>>64742454
There are apparently some surprisingly good 3dp suppressors. Fire rates are less limited than you'd think on account of them not conducting heat well. Definitely still in the disposable category but they can last up to 1k center-fire rifle rounds and more with lower pressure stuff. Key of course is to serialize an outer tube and recore it whenever it wears out.
>>
>>64758798
>Key of course is to serialize an outer tube and recore it whenever it wears out.
Just FYI, if you're not an 07/02 then replacement cores trigger a new tax stamp. If you're going to go the route of engraving the tube and replacing cores, just keep your mouth shut about the cores being disposable.

Any anons here ever been to ShootSmart? Its pretty much the only range I hear about in DFW, but they seem extremely expensive: Their prices put me off but their also the closest range to my neighborhood so their convenient...Would you say if I shoot at the minimum 2-3 times a month that a membership would be worth it? How much money would I realistically save? If you get their most expensive membership you get to shoot at the lanes for free and get a free FFL, which is tempting but I'm not sure if its worth it bros...

their normal prices are as follows
>Public Shooting Lane: $17
>Private Shooting Lane: $32
>FFL: $45
And that's not even counting everything else. Like I've seen Holosun Sights easily going for $400+ there. I think that they upcharge everything to get you to buy a membership, which is pretty scummy, but I am tempted I'm ngl.

You have a moderately sized military force and you have to deal with several hundred of these things. Here’s what you gotta remember about them:
>Nearly immortal, body can be damaged but the only thing that can kill them is fire
>sever a limb and it will keep coming after you
>burning them isn’t advised because the gasses inside will reanimate any corpses around them, including animals
>They do feel pain, from injury and their rotting bodies
>eating brains relieves said pain
>they’re very smart, able to fake calls for backup and set up ambushes
>speed depends on the state of decay, fresher corpses run like a human
>nuking them would kill them, but it would spread the trioxin gas further and make a bigger outbreak in the end
Well, /k/? You gotta get creative with this one.

Speak (or type) for yourself, faggot.

Horizontal grips are very cool, but are they useful in anyway though?
>>
>>64758675
Any foregrip is just an ergonomic point that you can potentially use to pull the gun more firmly into your shoulder, or just use in general if there aren't any other good places to grab the front of the gun. Not necessary, not bad, players choice really.
>>
They're just for griping around something large like a drum or belt box. Try doing that with a VFG. you can't
>>
They're useful in the sense that getting your arm around a belt box and still having a comfortable grip is difficult. Used to be decently common in the late 2000s for 240 gunners to mount SAW rail grips to their 9 oclock, but it fell out of fashion as GWOT drew down as peacetime meant a greater emphasis on 240s being crew served weapons, as opposed to in Iraq and Afghan where assistant gunners would just carry extra belts and otherwise just be functionally a regular rifleman on patrols; while spare barrels or tripods were rarely even carried.

>>64758675
it should be easy to remember the difference between horizontal and vertical because horizontal has the word horizon in it, and a horizon is a line that goes left and right, not up and down. vertical has the word vertice in it but a vertice is really just a point and not a line, but I guess vertical grips do make it easier to point the gun so there's that.
