So what's the deal with the multi-color armor carrier that's in the news these days? I've never seen a green/tan or green/tan/black carrier before today. Looks like the manufacturer had some loose fabric lying around, lol.
It looks like it contains soft armor and it has tubes.

Congrats on joining the IV+ Club. XSAPIs are always a good buy, 3x M993 at 3,050ft/s +-50 is no slouch when good Level IV folds to anywhere between 2,700 to 2,850ft/s.

NTA, apparently from what I can tell Rocksett has a huge counterfeit problem. The guy selling it on Amazon is straight up selling runny craft glue and should be drenched in pepsi crystal for his crimes. To answer anon's question, there is a lot of depth to threadlocker besides just red or blue or green or purple. See pic rel.
I use blue (243) for optics and other accessories that aren't heat-loaded. If I need heat resistance like on a brake I go genuine Rocksett (buy direct to avoid third party bullshit). Haven't needed a reason for red yet. Vibra-tite is easier to break away if you like removing stuff and could probably sub for blue loctite if I'm reading torque values correctly. Loctite has industrial threadlockers above the reds, but I wouldn't mess with those for gun stuff. There's already horror stories daily with red threadlocker. Green penetrates, orange is higher strength than blue but still removeable without heat, etc. Purple is fine for low-strength stuff.

Ah actually, you know what, I think I know the mechanism behind your detonation. You had a significant amount of oil in your air rifle, including in the barrel, and it was sufficient to burn all the way to the muzzle, with a DDT along the barrel. The fireball means there was still fuel for the reaction at the muzzle. The lack of restriction would've meant if anything you should've had a deflagration instead of a detonation, but *if* you had enough fuel, and there were enough aerosolized fuel in your barrel as well, then it could've potentially gone through a DDT, but you'd have to have had a fuel-air mixture in the barrel and not just in the piston. In any case, exact mechanism aside, it's the same exact phenomena as dieseling, and has the same exact root cause, which is what everybody has been telling you, you had the wrong oil in the gun.
>I didn't take it apart
yeah I didn't say you put it there, these things aren't exactly well regulated and the manufacturer could've very well used something prone to detonation. why it didn't detonate when you were firing it normally, who knows, but now you know
>A) don't look down on it just because it's an air rifle
>B) do some research and understand the hazards
>C) don't trust the manufacturers too much
>>
>>64753576
well no shit, I don't need a paper to tell me the thing exploded when I saw it with my own eyes and went deaf and my ear is ringing months later and will be for rest of my fucking life because of the most simple goddamn mistake
>>64753631
The fireball didn't come from the muzzle, it came out of the compression chamber transfer port
At least if I remember right, but the fireball I saw definitely wasn't from the muzzle and was more from the middle of the gun
The thing never even diseled shooting it normally, the dry fire was the first time I even saw smoke coming from it
>why it didn't detonate when you were firing it normally, who knows
I'm guessing that with the air cushion the pellet creates it's enough to stop the oil from getting too crazy in the compression chamber or the piston just slamming into itself with the dry fire sparked it or some shit
I just don't want to live with this fucking ringing for the rest of my life because of something so fucking stupid
it's infuriating
>do some research and understand the hazards
I literally did do this
I even found videos talking about artillery holding and how to properly mount the scope and everything, I did the whole fucking autistic deep dive because I am fucking autistic and I know the thing isn't just a souped up nerf gun, I've literally killed squirrels with it in one shot
all I ever saw about dry firing was it potentially damaging the gun and to not do it, which is common sense with any kind of powerful spring anything, nothing mentioned it being able to blow up and deafen you randomly

You've already had plenty of people tell you you're a dumbass for being too casual but honestly anon I'm genuinely sorry for you, the EEEEee fucking sucks. It's not completely impossible that it may go away this year still, assuming you're religious about minimizing exposure and didn't have too much building up to this incident, but yeah after months the odds are lower.

Fwiw, there is serious R&D into it going on, and there are cutting edge experimental treatments getting investigated. Big one is bimodal neuromodulation, but using cochlear implants is also apparently helpful in specific cases (dunno if yours works or not), various forms of transcranial stimulation, and there is ongoing work last I checked on neurotrophins use to repair nerve damage. Because all of this is really new and experimental you might have to really hunt around to find anyone who knows about it right now, and dunno if any studies have openings or whatever. But just maybe a small note of optimism is that there is a lot of research going on for hearing stuff and next decade might bring some big breakthroughs or at least some measure of relief.

Good luck anon.
>>
>>64754063
I already had tinnitus before this incident, it was just mostly ignorable
now it's basically not ignorable at all, and I'm someone who really likes being alone and in silence so it's just gotten worse and worse
I'm still popping my ears trying to make it go away on impulse

I did go to an ENT but I couldn't see him until a month after the incident and he basically threw his hands up and said my hearing test was normal, there's apparently some other things I could do but it all sounds like a waste of time or quackery besides getting a hearing aid which I don't want and would be I'm guessing extremely expensive and not covered by insurance

I'm not casual about the damn thing I just forgot to lower the fucking loading port one time and happened to be in a small room which probably made it a lot worse
All I wanted to do was pop some pinecones in the fucking yard from my bedroom and now I just wanna die
The only reason I even forgot to do it in the first place is because I was deliberately trying to be careful and not accidentally ventilate my ceiling
literally the opposite of casual
it just makes me so mad

Would going to an Appleseed course be worth it? I've never had any instruction in shooting and there's a few coming up within driving distance so the cost would be low. I'd use a 10/22 with an LVPO.
It kind of seems like it's all old people and kids in the basic courses, though admittedly, that's probably better than getting there and finding a bunch of spergs my own age trying to look cool. I doubt I'll find a more accessible form of training but I'm not sure if this is the best format. Like how much is shooting and how much is just listening to the instructors give a history lesson?
I also understand they put a lot of emphasis on sling use but the USGI sling they use seems pretty clunky from some of the videos I've seen so I may never swap to it but I do think having someone actually watching and give me feedback might help, especially if it's assumed I have no knowledge upon arrival.
Anyone that's been to one want to give your impressions?

>The Americans can no longer be trusted
>Russia is threatening
>China is threatening
>The Americans are threatening

Why don’t all countries just acquire nuclear weapons? If sufficient numbers of countries take this step then all threats of sanctions from non-compliance lose their significance. Israel already set the precedent by showing how nuclear weapons inspections and the sanctions tied to them have no meaning.

First one should build a large stockpile of nerve agents and genetically modified biological weapons so that deterrence remains in effect while the bombs are being built. Olympic pools of VX being pumped to cheap drones with spray tanks would be enough since the poison will remain in the terrain as microscopic droplets for months thus neutralizing enemy population centers even if the vast majority of launches are intercepted.

We underestimate the impact of WW2 on the continent. It wiped out a generation of men, destroyed their empires, and made them subservient to the US or USSR. In some ways Europe has essentially been coasting on the societal wealth accumulated pre-1914.

Europe hasn't even created a top-ten company this century. Their only trillion dollar company is a luxury conglomerate that sells Cognac and Hermes bags. It's only growth for 30 years has come from rebuilding the countries behind the Iron Curtain, living standards have essentially been flat otherwise. It's a pathologically fucked place in a lot of ways, and that's before importing the cultural suicide that was birthed on American college campuses (sorry for that one).

And people wonder why the U.S. is maybe trying to uncouple from the continent. I'd like them to be doing well, but the outlook is real fucking grim, and I'm not sure I can tether the fate of my countrymen to European societies, however harsh that may seem.

Post your devious prohibited shots or crazy looking shots.

Yeah the story behind it is interesting. An American was working in Slovakia and found a hobo sleeping inside the statue at a junkyard. He liked it because the artist actually made it slightly out of spec by including guns and bayonets on it (see bottom right). Lenin was supposed to be presented in art as an intellectual, not a warmonger. He bought it and had it shipped home so he could use it as a curio in front of a restaurant he was going to open. Sadly he died soon after this and Lenin never got to promote a diner. The family tried to sell it to a foundry but they declined and so it went up in the hopes that somebody would buy it. It's still for sale, so if anyone really hates Lenin, just buy it and turn it into Funko pops or something. It's not even that expensive, like $250k.

Henry's another one. Are there really that many people buying lever actions and single shot break actions? It's even worse than car companies because guns are cheaper than cars and .22s and hunting guns last basically forever

You keep bringing up Remington, but Remington failed at everything. Not only had they cheapened their 870 design until their most loyal fans abandoned them, but they couldn't make a good handgun or rifle either (remember the RP9 controversy with the slide stop, the R51 controversy because they could barely get through 1 full mag and were falling apart after a very small round count, the Remington 700 controversy where they had to voluntarily upgrade everyone's bolt gun because they were firing without the trigger being pulled?). You'd know this if you lived in the country you claim to live in.
>>
>>64753974
I'm an American, you troon. remingshit and marlin got bought by Romney when they had terrible hunting gun sales. and then he shat them up.
I'm saying no company has tried to replace the 870 even after all these years. so there must not be a market for henry or ruger to want to get into and savage pumps are imported turkshit. like you
>>
>>64753984
>I'm saying no company has tried to replace the 870 even after all these years.
Successful gun companies don't have to penetrate that segment of the market. Mossberg has the shotgun market in the US on lockdown, and Benelli and Beretta are ahead in the European market but are slowly losing ground to the Turkshit (not because Turkshit is better, but because they are so cheap that they tempt people who don't know any better).
>>

Starting with this piece of shit. Any gun that gets a cracked frame within 20,000 rounds is an irredeemable hunk of absolute dogshit. That isn’t even a high round count for 9mm. Glock runs circles around beretta.

>>

No, it's getting replaced because procurement is too retarded to realise that an inconel gas tube kit would do everything a completely new piston gun does but better and cheaper (and lighter).
I also suspect the USMC was under pressure to do SOMETHING with the M27 IAR project and frankly giving one to every rifleman is just the least bad outcome of that. Would've been better if they just made an M16A5 though.
>>
>>64753961
I can't account for yuros being retarded or Marines still living in 2002 and autistically trying to justify a piston gun. M4 still moggs though even if you don't want it to be true
