I mean they kinda already are. There's a reason the chinks don't go for direct confrontations with their navy and only ever harass their fishermen or lone RHIB then hightail it out when the bigger boats come rolling in.

Which is better? Steam or Electromagnetic Catapults?

>AC gives you more bang for your buck
How? I get it's better for grids and generation because you can have brushless alternators and transformers but this isn't a grid it's a coil gun.
DC is much better and pulsed DC produces the same flux pattern as steady DC unlike AC which alternates.
The only downside is you need either a generator on the turbines or a rectifier but with AC you would need a big step-down transformer.

I don't this is really an AC vs DC thing, that's just a result of the design. If I understand correctly, the American launcher is a compulsator powered linear induction motor, while the Chinese launcher is essentially a capacitor powered railgun. The American design uses AC power because the compulsator generates AC and the LIM consumes AC, while the Chinese design uses DC power because the capacitors store DC and the railgun consumes DC. I don't know much about the relative advantages of compulsators vs capacitors or induction vs homopolar motors, but I think that's where you'll find the reasons for the different methods.

A fiber optic cable wouldn't help in this case. The cable just stops jamming. The idea behind the tech in OP is to literally fry the electronics. Not just jam the signal...and what's pictured is decades old tech ironically.

Look, most people are too stupid to understand what types of directed energy systems are currently available to the USA and many other first world nations.

They are showing you tech that was developed probably back in the 80s.

A horn antenna EMP gun is nothing new.

Read the 2024 addition of High Powered Microwave Weapons (forgot the author but will try to find the link in a bit)

We have microwave tech far and beyond what is pictured in OP.

Laser tech is also more advanced than what is commonly described by the main stream.

Pistol related but last question thread died a while ago. Are all 1911 .45 barrels interchangeable with all other 1911 models? I've got a Kimber and want a threaded barrel for it and I'm wondering if I should just get a Kimber barrel for it.

Many of them will come apart. Some are hinged and use a locking mechanism, in others the breech face and striker/hammer components can screw out of the back of the gun, or the barrel screws off the front. In this case it looks like the barrel screws out. I've also seen quite a few open-bolt designs where you simply drop the round in the chamber, run it home with a finger, and then extract with a stick down the barrel - think the Liberator pistol or the GB-22. The really cheap tubular zip guns are usually meant to be disposable anyway

So I want a handstop but I was wondering is buying these airsoft versions a good alternative compared to the more expensive ones by major firearm companies?

plastic is plastic right?
>>
>>64703801
you ideally want the right TYPE of plastic.

not gonna melt/become brittle in a year and snap off the rail/actually fits the hole in the first place.

for 7$ though.. its not like its a life or death issue if they break or whatever on your rifle.

ive seen plenty of PLA+ 3D printed VFG's/handstops and even printed them myself. good enough for fun/hunting but im not gonna take it to war.

I kid of course. Somaliland has far more legitimacy than Israel.

Also if you have an IQ greater than 80 you may recognize this as a very basic move to butter them up to accept Palestinian refugees. Israel doesn't do anything for free and have never once done anything that wasn't for their benefit and at someone else's expense in their entire history

He's just selling off a few guns from his dad's collection since he died a few years ago. They have the old West Jordan address on them. If this was a legit operation they'd have real pictures of a production facility, parts, machines, or something real. Even CAD renderings would be infinitely more than they have now. This is a couple bro vets and a son of a guy attempting to defraud boomers.

lmao I can guarantee they didn't. "Da ATF won't let me make 'em! Sorry folks!" is the #1 excuse for every single fucking scammer who promises a reproduction of some hard to get gun, takes a bunch of preorder money, and then fails to actually deliver a product. And gun owners are retarded enough to keep falling for it.

I have a big boar 50 that is a nice gun (I bought it because of tremors and jurassic park). I have wanted to get one of their 1911s but prices went stupid on them around covid and even a beat to shit 45 win mag was around $1500, and i'd rather not have a 45 win mag just because that's a pain to find evaporate.

I was told freedom group bought out grizzly for their equipment and then sat on them because they were cancer. Not sure if that's true but fuck them anyway.

If it's under 2500 i'd probably do a 50 or 44. No idea what the price will be if it isn't vaporware.

Based on what you wrote it seems to fulfil a recurring theme with US service weapons - generally nice to shoot, often very innovative or employ some advanced technology, but also kinda overcomplicated and more difficult to maintain than it really needs to be...
>>
>>64703179
In practice, spare barrels weren't carried into the bush. Do I think that's good for the gun to be fired a lot on 1 barrel? No. But it's how they did it, and from what I've been able to tell, historically speaking, no one actually changed barrels out as much as they were supposed to in combat.
>>64703198
I'd only ever heard about benchrest guys worrying about that. Not coping, but maybe the barrel is thick enough to not flex much

I would say more that they're sometimes kind of odd internally, as a side effect of being innovative and cutting edge as you were saying

Let me guess, you think your airforce needs more expensive higher performance aircraft.
You could get 5 of these fucks and arm them for the price of an empty KR-67.

I don't think this works now. Ship radars can see through ground/sea clutter more easily, and CIWS does not burst fire anymore
>>
>>64702748
There used to be a hard radar floor of 20m below which radar would only sporadically detect you so any radar guided missile was useless. Now there is instead some simulation the details of which I don't know but there is no longer any hard cutoff where you're 100% safe. Effectively this means that being very low only reduces detection range somewhat.

A problem with Nuclear Option is that stealth is almost useless because of the low ranges and wide radar coverage. A radome Medusa can detect the stealthiest craft in the game at 40 km which is the majority of the default map. The second map makes them more usable.
