Russian submarines are quiet for about 5 minutes after being launched, but then become loud due to design faults.

The report was an exclusive of laverdad.es in relation to the current ongoing investigation of the Spanish authorities. It has more credibility than all the russian media put together.

What’s better about the Shield X from the Shield plus? The grip lengths are nearly the same with 15rd shield+ mags in. Does the thinner profile of the X make that much a difference?

Guys…. I’m really tempted.. although honestly I think the 50 ae version would be equally interesting since the ammo is a much better match for the lack of barrel length…

Redpill me on the Glock 17L. Is it really worth it over a regular 17?

Pistol related but last question thread died a while ago. Are all 1911 .45 barrels interchangeable with all other 1911 models? I've got a Kimber and want a threaded barrel for it and I'm wondering if I should just get a Kimber barrel for it.

you ideally want the right TYPE of plastic.

not gonna melt/become brittle in a year and snap off the rail/actually fits the hole in the first place.

for 7$ though.. its not like its a life or death issue if they break or whatever on your rifle.

ive seen plenty of PLA+ 3D printed VFG's/handstops and even printed them myself. good enough for fun/hunting but im not gonna take it to war.

How much quieter is suppressed 5.56 from a bolt action compared to an AR?
>>
>>64703983
There's an additional click-clack by your head in an AR, but that sound is only about 115dB iirc. There is port pop but a suppressed muzzle report is still 135+dB so port pop is negligible compared to that, and I think I recall from old suppressor testing videos that the supersonic crack from a 5.56 bullet is is ~140dB* so that would be the baseline in both cases, even though they "feel" and sound different enough to notice in person

*yes I know AI has a different answer now, but "80-100dB" is obviously incorrect, a suppressed supersonic .22 crack is louder than that 100y from the shooter and that's barely supersonic

tl;dr It's noticeably quieter "to the ear" but not really elsewhere, or enough to matter

Oh heck yeah I found it. .308 supersonic crack is just under 140dB, so still louder than a suppressed muzzle blast. And interestingly you can see that transient area from 1,100 to 1,300 fps where volume hasn't yet topped out--that's where supersonic .22 resides

yeah im expecting something more flimsy but the only part that might even see much action is the front part and im not planning to wack the thing on tables

So here is my glorious Century Arms AK after a fire and 4 years rusting in a scrap heap.

A couple folks i know have been watching youtube and gotten into restoration, they are competing with each other to see what is the worst one they can fix. Well i'm gonna give it a try.

As far as i can tell the lower and are fine, however all the sheet metal and most of everything else is unsalvageable. The plan is to whenever possible replace the irreparable components with items from a 'Asian parts kit' aka a Type 58.

So what is my first step, put in a 5 gallon bucket of water, dump in some Borax and hook up a battery charger?

>Why don't you get this thing in as serviceable a condition as you can, and just put something less rare on it

I think that's exactly what i'll try to do. If i can get it to shoot a mag i'll make my friends buy a Type 58 parts kit then hang this or it's pieces on a wall. I want to see what i can do with it and about 50 feet of string just out of curiosity.

The heat treatment of the trunnion is probably bad, with a enough rounds the lugs will mushroom, then causing bad headspace and then case ruptures.

Honestly a cool wall hanger, but not worth your time

Not the right thickness receiver for an North Korean kit
>>
>>64703354
>heat softened
>>64703596
>springs looks good and fucked
>>64703829
>Heat treatment seems utterly ruined but so far all of of the parts and springs are intact just crusty.
If the springs got fucked by heat, the trunnion is probably also bad.
The trunnion is NOT easy to replace. It has rivets holding it to the receiver. The barrel is press fitted into the trunnion. A soft trunnion can crack at the barrel pin or it can let the barrel move forward, causing catastrophic headspacing.

When making your own AK from a 80% kit, you are typically demilling the trunnion and reusing it with a new receiver and barrel. In other words, swapping a trunnion isn't impossible. Most builders have already done it. Multiple times. It's a pain in the ass, but totally doable.

>>64703841
>i'll make my friends buy a Type 58 parts kit
Isn't that a milled kit? You'll probably want a milled receiver to go with that. Also, a milled kit won't come with a trunnion. Just a heads up.
>>
>>64704222
The receiver is too thin, everything is there but it looks like so much material flaked off it's half the thickness in some sections. I'm going to strip it down but besides attempting to win a bet with a string it doesn't seem usable, it's just too thin. 99% chance a wall hanger but i'll wait a couple days to see what the rust removal solution reveals.

It literally never got more accurate than this.

Never seen it and don't want to see it because the usmc is garbage. Is the theme of persistent theft of everything, anything you own by other marines shown or not in this series?
>>

You must have been really not liked if the guys in your squad/platoon were stealing from you. One of my boys almost threw hands on my behalf because someone accidentally drank my red bull I left out. Anyway, yeah it shows how you have to beg/borrow/steal/improvise in the show. Its one of the best, well researched and portrayed depictions of a military story. Better than BoB or the Pacific.

British and Italian protectorates unified to become Somalia in the 60's.
They broke apart almost immediately because former Italian Somalia is filled with retards who went on to commit genocide during the war of independence.
Somaliland is now more politically stable with actual elections and a higher GDP per capita.

He's just selling off a few guns from his dad's collection since he died a few years ago. They have the old West Jordan address on them. If this was a legit operation they'd have real pictures of a production facility, parts, machines, or something real. Even CAD renderings would be infinitely more than they have now. I have a big boar 50 that is a nice gun (I bought it because of tremors and jurassic park). I have wanted to get one of their 1911s but prices went stupid on them around covid and even a beat to shit 45 win mag was around $1500, and i'd rather not have a 45 win mag just because that's a pain to find evaporate.

I was told freedom group bought out grizzly for their equipment and then sat on them because they were cancer. Not sure if that's true but fuck them anyway.

If it's under 2500 i'd probably do a 50 or 44. No idea what the price will be if it isn't vaporware.

It's umerex, probably play with slide weight depending on what the gun tends to do as it could have a similar slide to their PAK version. Likely more weight added to the slide, add lead adhesive window strips to the inside of the slide.

>>64689534
My umarex made FN502 functions reasonably well as long as it's not too dirty. Once it gets past 300 rounds, it will start to jam.

If you can find one, the Manurhin PPK in .22lr is the way to go.
