It's that time of year /K/ommandos! Were we reminisce the years that have past and look forward to the new one that is now unfolding! And that includes thinking up of goals for ourselves to achieve this year! You have been thinking of how to become a better /K/ommando right anon?

Anyway, I haven't seen one of these threads in a few years, so lets get one going. How do you rank against your fellow /k/omrades?

Bonus points if you can add stories about your achievements. Also maybe its time to update the board? Add a few more,

I propose that yes this is try hard points farming technicalities but also /k/ enough that it should count.

>Autism: Own more than five of the exact same gun

will there ever be a market for 1.75" minishells, and 22wmr, 17hmr, 17wsm rimfires?

Why are the selling slugs modled after my penis?
>>
>>64765491
I know women who use them so they can handle the recoil in a standard 12 gauge. Works pretty good.
Seem serviceable. Personally I just use normal shells because they're cheaper, even before all the other advantages.
Basically the only reasons you'd use mini shells is you want more shots in a tube magazine and less power/recoil is either acceptable or preferable.
>>
>>64765491
20ga minishell slugs and buckshot loads for survival/hunting. Can carry more ammo for less weight and essentially the same effect as a 12. Bird shot would still need to be fullsize to get adequate throw and spread. Would save a lb off the gun and double the ammo you could take.

>22wmr
These already got wildly popular. Where you been? There's 30rd 22 mag semi autos rn. I don't think realistically you could do much better. ARs are available in the round too. What id really like to see is more guns in 17 WSM like Franklin Armory put out as a middle finger to WMAs/ game laws specifically made so people can only hunt using shitty boomer rifles/cartridges. Love what they're doing there and I think it's a great idea. Nice for some restricted countries too.
>>
>>64765491

I use 22 mag in my backup pocket revolver for around the house. Rest of the family can handle it too with the low recoil.

I have more experience actually being in the snow and shooting than you will in a lifetime, and yes, pushing off a 23' wall requires significantly more skill than cherry picking an X-ring @ 50yds. with a .22.

I saw something like that. It was as tall as a doberman or great dane but instead of being lanky, it was a giant pit bull. It pushed past the owner who was stepping out the front door to smoke when I was walking down the street and ran out to get me all pissed off, barking and freaking out. I ran into traffic to avoid it. Luckily, there was traffic, and luckily, the dog didn't want to run into traffic. They had the whole family out on the front porch trying to hold this thing back by the collar; mom, dad, and daughter.

By abducting the German engineers who made the Sturmgewher and forcing them to explain to Kalashnikov how to make a good weapon.

Hugo Schmeisser's involvement wasn't until about 1953, and he wasn't brought to Russia to redesign the AK, they had already settled on what it was gonna be, and the AKM isn't significantly mechanically different from the AK.
(The rate reducer/out of battery safety was not his design).

Rather, Hugo Schmeisser had decades of expertise with stamping metal, and they wanted him to lead the production development for the upcoming AKM, along with all kinds of other stamping tech they wanted to get a grip on.
The AK was intended to be stamped the entire time, it's just that Russia didn't have the means to consistently and reliably produce the original stamped receiver, thus the machined billet receiver being deployed as an interim solution.

>>64767555
Those were the Sturmgewehr 45(m) or Gerät 06 guys at Mauser, who were a separate group of people developing rifles to compete with the Stg44
>>
>>64767560
Kalashnikov's prototypes worked, and if the stamped Type 1 receivers were actually properly manufactured they were basically the strength of an AKM receiver, but there were shortcomings in their industry making that difficult to do.

Chinese AKs never had the rate reducer mechanism and they work fine too, so it's not like that is a critical design chase.

We have just seen the US carry out Operation Absolute Resolve, a flawless raid in Venezuela but there's so much more than what meets the eye.
The fact that the Nightstalkers could just infil and exfil on gunships guns blazing is insane in the era of gay drones and MANPADS.
They didn't even have to worry about the overall IADS. IR dazzlers or just shooting back was very effective against any fuckers that tried to get a shot off. More than half of the air assets in theater being SIGINT and EW just shows the importance of spectral dominance in addition to SEAD and as SEAD itself. It's obvious Growlers used their brand spanking new mid-band Growler pods to jam fire control radars, F-35s used their Barracuda suites, but what the EC-130H's were doing could be anyone's guess. But the power went out and that says something.

It was actually 2.2 billion, but this was after the russian shipyard stopped working on the ship for two whole years and had to be wrangled in their blatant acts of corruption by the Russian president himself because Russian military exports were only netting them 8 billion in total. Mind you, this shipyard had only worked on submarines so they were never equipped to deal with carriers in the first place

>>
>>64765755

>>
>>64765921
You are most likely right. And with modern metallurgy and some fancy nancy alloy, the slide with the larger ejection port is probably still more rigid than the old one made from some inferior alloy.
But if someone is using Bobbas pissing hot hand loads™ at the end of this slides life span, it will most likely crack at this exact spot.
Fun fact. That's the spot where some pistols of the first version of the P8 (Germanys version of the HK USP) cracked. And this was a gun that was designed around the .40 S&W while only shooting some 9mm FMJ +P. Wikipedia says that it was due to pressure spikes in the ammo. I've heard another story from someone. Let's call him swim and he just made it up and he definitively never looked into confidetial records.
Story goes something like this. After training and before putting the weapons back into the armory the soldiers usually oil the barrel and chamber to prevent rust. Now before going to the range they should run a couple of cleaning wicks through the barrel to get it dry again.
If the barrel and chamber are still oily it would greatly reduce the friction of the empty case in the chamber during opening. Resulting in a faster recoiling slide and a drasticly reduced life span of the gun. My memory might be wrong on this one, but we are talking about <1000rds for a gun that should have a life span of >10.000rds.
