Okay, i'm starting now re: >>64647358 / >>64654060 / >>64690132 etcIt was probably pretty effective, but how much so is debatableOn the Native side, both codices and textual accounts have them severing necks and limbs (see the Florentine Codex in >>64647358 and in pic related). The Spanish also praise it's lethality, Diaz states:>and two-handled stone edged swords, which cut better than our swords...made with stones which cut worse than knives, so cleverly arranged, that one can neither break nor pull out the bladesThe chronicler Baltasar Dorantes de Carranza also states Macuahuitl cut better then Spanish swords ("...las macanas, espadas de navaja que cortaban mexor que las nuestras...") but he may just be parroting Diaz (tho Diaz's account wasn't widely published yet at the time). Meanwhile, Diaz himself I suspect is also pulling from another Conquistador, the "Anonymous Conquerer", who said>They have swords...of wood... like a two-handed sword, but with the hilt not so long; about three fingers in breadth. The edges are grooved, and in the grooves they insert stone knives, that cut like a Toledo knife. I saw one day an Indian fighting with a mounted man, and the Indian gave the horse...a blow in the breast that he opened it to the entrails, and it fell dead...I saw another Indian give another horse a blow in the neck, that stretched it dead at his feetWith this likely being the origin of various other Spanish claims that Macuahuitl could behead a horse in a single stroke. As you can see here, the original claim is not quite as impressive, but still attests to it being effective. Francisco Hernández de Córdova, another Conquistador, claims it could split a man in two, but in contrast to Diaz, states that after one use the blades broke or came off:Comment too long. >>64696837You're being dishonest, conceding just that basic important differnce about your original wrong claim would have obviated this entire discussion. Not that anon btw.If one lets go of truthfulness democravy becomes or any good outcomes in general morph into impossibilities. These things matter because of that and that is part of the reason anon is being persistent and want you to concede on that untruthfulness. This post is made in the assumption that you're not competely hell bent on making truth something mythical whereby you may be permitted to instrumentalize and twist "smaller" factual truths in the service for that mythical "truth" as many biden dead-enders and especially trump cultists have done. And yes, this shit is relevant to weapons and war because one can plainly see how delusional and dishonest/corrupt politics have the potential to do more military strategic damage than entire months of bombing runs or having better or worse fighter jets, tanks, arrillery etc.

In fact, they did. But that notion was put out from their minds when it was blown apart by an MG-42.
>>64696511yeah the problem is there that the germans lost in Hürtgen Forest and lost the war. That's why hitler shot himself you see>>64696511>make easy pickings of one nation that had been blown to smithereensyeah
I'm a brainlet when it comes to acoustics, but are there reasons other than price/difficulty as to why a monolithic suppressor made of sintered titanium or stainless steel wouldn't work ? Think of acoustic foam with insane weight to structural strength.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bq2AM9x80nA&t=63s
Acoustic foam works by scattering the sound waves in all directions, thereby diffusing it. Suppressors work by redirecting and sequestering the noise into little compartments. Metal foam topology would likely impede this redirection, I think, and I don't think the bonus of diffusing the sound would make up for it.
>>64697430Sounds kind of like a glasspack muffler for motorcycles
>>64697430Use this as a wipe, it might work for flash instead of sound. The mesh will catch unburnt powder and act as a heat sink
>>64697612>Acoustic foam works by scattering the sound waves in all directions, thereby diffusing itUsually this type of treatment is used for absorption. The sound enters the material and gets turned into vibration and heat. You'll also get diffusion for the waves that don't get absorbed, but that's a secondary effect.
>>64697430gas has to go somewhere baffles work by stopping that energy becoming a high pressure sound wave not by trying to trap it all. Reminder silencers on supersonic ammunition in semi auto gun with cycling bolts is pants on head retarded

>>64697824>Italy and Germany entered the war later than Japan>surrendered before JapanWhat reliable Axis powers!
>>64687016>How come japan came out with bigger, better tanks than italy? They didn't really.A lot of Jap tanks could be argued as cutting edge in the early to mid 1930's especially if you compare them to what everyone else had at the time. Problem is by late 30's and once you hit the 40's they are woefully out of date and they aren't really getting new designs out onto the field.Italy meanwhile developed tanks that would have been fantastic in the 1930's but they all come out in the 40's as they are having to rush whatever they can out onto the field when they really wanted to be entering a war in something like 1942 at earliest.

>>64697822Just wondering if "pretty much anything" is still accurate for a score in the 70s, if anyone could corroborate. Although, I am planning on becoming an officer after being enlisted. I don't really know how all this is supposed to work, since I'm still waiting for my medical stuff to clear, as I've already been disqualified; so sorry if I sound ignorant. My recruiter is still working on getting me in, and I'm still working with my own medical professionals, so we'll see where this goes.
>>64697886What was your GT score? What are you trying to enlist as?And do you have a degree already?
>>64697900Looks like a 113 for the Army. No, I don't have a degree. I was gonna have to go to college while in the Army, they told me it would be paid for anyway.
Starting from square one (civilian), what exact steps do I need to take to become a CIA field agent?
>>64697634If you decide to join the Marines... It will be your second biggest mistake in life. Your biggest mistake will be leaving the Marines. There is a cultish brotherhood in the Corps that transcends the other branches, especially in the 03xx community. Idk if they use similar languages in the other branches, but in our accession pipeline, the term is, "indoctrination into love of God, Country, and Corps." Even if you enlist and end up as a POG, the Marines will give you best friends and memories you will cherish forever.Side note: anyone done an interservice transfer? Looking to maybe switch to the Army for combat arms.
What's the minimum standard to train to if you are going to carry? I am not talking SOF, I am not talking some mercenary company standards. Just something that a person can't do after 50 rounds, but 100% of people can do after 3-6 months. Think 2 plate bench / 3 plate deadlift.I am guessing it's 2 rounds on target from rest or holster in x time. What's that x?What's the best way to train for it?
>>64697471I have nothing to base this on other than feels, but I think a 2 second draw and 3 accurate hits in 3 seconds at 7 yards is a pretty achievable standard for carry without expecting too much. A two second draw means you have at least gotten consistent with your grip and know how to draw without snagging on everything, and one shot every .5 seconds shows that you have acceptable trigger control and probably won't be pulling shots into the dirt if you get attacked. Realistically, even that's probably beyond the point of diminishing returns for carry, but if a person is going to carry a gun, they should at least put some goddamn effort into it.
>>64697471Get a mantis or similar dry fire system. Everyday before you got to work practice drawing, dry firing, and holstering your gun 5 times. As you get faster and smother, reduce the size of the target. If you have to shoot someone for real, you'll be doing a bill drill or similar. You'll have to shoot outside every once in a while to validate your dry firing. You should also carry a dagger on your non dominant side so you can create space to draw your pistol. You need to practice drawing your knife, creating space, then transitioning to your pistol. Go into the eye if you can. Congratulations, you're better trained than 99% of people you will encounter. It will cost you about 15 mins a day.
>>64697471Take a concealed carry course, goddamn you kids really don't have a hundred bucks? Courses are very cheap and you can learn from people with more experience, not retards on the internet or trying to figure it out your retarded self. Sorry you decided to be a gay faggy unsworn so you only have access to civilian training, you'll just have to figure out what training schools are good.
Fist size group at 25, time doesn't matter. Practice draws until you can do it with eyes closed while wearing different pants and jackets/no jacket.Run
