How effective are the Japanese Self Defense Forces? Could they be as bad ass as the Imperial Japanese Army? How do they stack up to the PLA, Russian or Western armies if Japanese is allowed to fully re-arm?

Post some gun ideas you've had. Bonus for KelTec levels of madness.>modern SA/DA cartridge revolver w/swing-out cylinder but designed on Colt 1860 lines.
>bergman bayards with accessory rails and stendos, ideally in a wide spectrum of calibers, potentially including intermediate rifle rounds>had a dream about a "5.56x19mm" pistol that could zip soft armor and only needed a barrel swap to use in my hi power>new production meatballs that can, you guessed it, chamber intermediate rifle cartridges
>>64757523The Rossi LWC, but it's a top-break revolver with a 20" barrel and a blast shield, chambered in 45-70.
Why aren't there more guns that have a secondary barrel for firing a more powerful caliber if the situation changes suddenly? The only example I can think of is the LeMat Revolver. It would throw the caliber wars for a loop and make for a fun range toy.https://www.youtube.com/shorts/c1ySenl_OQo
>>64757523>top break>9 shot>327 magnum>3 inch barrel>bobbed hammer>optic/light readyMy idea for the ultimate EDC revolver in places where they limit magazines to 10 rounds. You get nearly the same capacity/reload speed as a semi-auto with near .357 stoppin' powah. Shooped together a shitty mockup using the protoype Detonics top-break that never saw the light of day.
Benelli M1014 that uses a helical mag that goes the length of the barrel. Picrel is a shitty thing I made on my phone in like 3 minutes but you get the idea.I was thinking that I could remove the elevator and just have the bolt push shells out of the magazine into the chamber but it would probably be super fucking unreliable and removing the magazine tube and a portion of the receiver to fit the magazine would make the whole gun fragile. With enough work and some 3D printing I could probably make one. Maybe.
Realistically, what firearm would you need to take down a rampaging Na'vi from the Avatar films? Nine feet of solid muscle and bone (reinforced with natural carbon fibre), extremely fast-moving and agile, fighting on their own turf with very short engagement distances? There's no way 5.56 mm would cut it, would 7.62mm be enough?

>>64761124At least with the battlefield data we've collected from recent conflicts the M1A3 will be a bigger evolution of the design over having slightly better FC and armor if it had come out in the 2000s. Namely, using all the saved weight to redistribute armor to the roof where it's needed, which I like about the new glacis plate.

I just got a high paying job and in celebration I'm going to update my arsenal. Pls give input on my choices for these roles and let me know if there's something better:>Ruger SFAR as main DMR rifle, open to other short receiver .308 ARs or a .308 bullpup>M&P9 or 10mm Witness as handgun, I do live in grizzly country and this will be my primary HD/clearing gun>Kel Tec RDB as building clearing/HD rifle>KSG as HD shotgun>Mossberg Aftershock as drone gun to be worn on a scabbard, can also double as bear gun with slugs>300WM rifle as sniper (undecided but either a cheapo Savage bolty or go all in and get a Desert Tech SRS for $6k)Already have my carry guns set and most of the common rifles for range funs but want specific ones that best fill those roles. What are your go-to's?
>>64760728Sounds like you're better organized than me then. Can't imagine dropping 10k on a few guns will interfere with your plans.
>>64760770I manage to save a lot by not being into expensive cars and not expecting much out of housing. Almost bought but 2020 price skyrocketing happened so have just been renting janky 1 bedrooms in semi shitty areas but even those are $2k/mo where I live (the worst state, but with good paying jobs in some sectors at least)
>>64750963I'd get the 10mm Witness. Always wanted one of those.
>>64760865The Steel-framed one, of course. The polymer-framed one is so ugly it hurts to look at it.
>>64750963Almost all of these listed are guns more for fun than serious usage. The SFAR has some reliability issues, the Witness in 10mm is adequate but it's an old and overly heavy gun that is not particularly great in build quality and not super easy to get parts for. The M&P is decent enough in reliability and doesn't have the parts issue at least. The RDB is known for also having meh reliability and for being somewhat flimsy. The KSG is definitely known for flimsiness as well, which is an overall theme for Kel Tec it seems. The stockless shotgun is a meme in that it's incredibly difficult to hit anything beyond handgun self defense scenario distances more than once without taking 5 seconds to fire between aimed shots. The "sniper" category is fine, though it's questionable whether spending $6000 on a gun makes sense compared to $1000 for a Bergara or something similar.

Reloading generalMy press after sizing/depriming/cleaning primer pockets of over 6,000 pieces of .45 Auto brass. My die is an undersized die from EGW. They have Lee custom make dies .003" undersized to eliminate Glock bulge on brass. With my RCBS dies I had some rounds not fit in a match chamber.
>>64760090I for one really hate the RCBS hand primer, I don't know if i've got a defective product, but with small primers the little bastard jams up often, the entry level LEE single stage press auto prime blew it out of the water.for some reason the fucking thing makes the primers seat wrong and the priming ram gets hung up on the plastic and case holder

>>64739154>my Garandnoob here, if I understand your question, you have an original Garand that was used for lower power 3006 loads made in the 1940s. Did you check the specs for the proper/safe loading for that year Garand? If so you should be good to go. Someone asked the same question herehttps://forum.nosler.com/threads/safe-30-06-loads-for-the-m1-garand.16143/
>>64761081I did. The 47gr of IMR4895 came from a CMP forum post, so I'm thinking it should be alright. The only reason I turned to the forums was the few books I have don't have and garand spec loads. I'll probably end up doing the same when I start loading for my trapdoor rifle.
>>64761081>Garand that was used for lower power 3006 loads made in the 1940s.No such thing. Garands were used to fire every standard rifle load.

>>64755988Yeah its a fanfic, globalism would prevail either way. Just look at sweden, fucking racemixers. I just want things to be the way they were in the 90s/00s. Back then, I would be a social democrat. Now, I think that ideology (somewhat sensible taxes, somewhat sensible welfare, strong unions, bit of nationalism) is dead.Still, WW2, hell, WW1 were all tragic mistakes. I am not antiwar, things like falklands, ton of african safaris, sandboxes 1,2,3... were all fun, but its because they were exported violence. Never get high on your own stuff I guess...
>>64748403There are always traitors and super evil, dumb or just misaligned actors. Sure. But I know of no war, that was won by traitors alone. Sure, there were some treasons with huge effects, but history is never written by individuals. Its always about the population supporting silently or loudly some bigger or smaller endeavors. Napoleon would be noone without the will of the french people to die for him. Hitler would be just some random racist episode if third of germs actually fought against him by other means than just by writing angry columns into their leftist papers and talking loudly about it after the war. Russia wouldnt be trapped in ukraine if most of russians didnt support their Tsar. There is no jewish-rotschild-iluminati conspiracy forcing people to use inflationary dollar. Just ton of individual decisions to rather use this american banknote, based upon the quite reasonable thought that US isnt going to collapse until they can spend it and that a lot of people who sell goods also accept dollar. /pol/ likes to point fingers, but they have no other policy proposals other than kill jews, minorities, enslave women, ???, profit. Well, countries like Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia, Sudan and rest of sahel, various areas under control of Islamic state spinoffs etc. etc. all implement all or parts of these proposals. They also probably have low taxes and liberal gun and drug laws. But do I want to live there? nah. And lemme tell you. I do not actually think this is caused inherently by race or genetics. I have read about things that happened in Bosna, Serbia, Kosovo, Chechnya, Ukraine etc. Radicalism, fundamentalism and other extremisms simply arise from a population of poor young men with no good future to look forward to. I am not some nigger lover, I still think they should stay where they are, because europe has only some, very limited, integration capacity, and I think EU fucked up big time by not shooting the boats.
>>64741490You don't even need the trains. Just put some railway tracks out in the open and pajeets would come out of cover to shit on them
>>64748191Letting it collapse is dumb.People fail in family forming because the environment isn’t suitable to form a family in.This environment is not just the literal surrounding environment, but also the economic environment (including the time management economy), as well as the psychological environment (of both the female and the male, both who have differing requirements.)All Japan will be left with is increasingly empty urban ghost spaces, which are usually fertile ground for crime spreading, though since this is japan i suppose they won’t be too rowdy.Empty is still empty however.Try forming a family in a Detroit like environment. There will be no bounce back or stabilization like it’s some kind of ecosystem’s bird population, because the death of industrialized societies is just as exo-naturalistic as their birth.
