good deal or bad deal?
>>64699944I don’t buy sporterized surp. If I were, that would be the last one I’d sporterize. Unless someone can tell me about some neat historical provenance, that’s the quickest pass I’ll ever take.
>>64700562>sporterizedThats a factory target Nagant. At 400ish thats an acceptable price
>>64699944Is good. Enjoy.
What's the minimum standard to train to if you are going to carry? I am not talking SOF, I am not talking some mercenary company standards. Just something that a person can't do after 50 rounds, but 100% of people can do after 3-6 months. Think 2 plate bench / 3 plate deadlift.I am guessing it's 2 rounds on target from rest or holster in x time. What's that x?What's the best way to train for it?
>>64698038Negative. Concealed carry classes are the Ford Pinto of gun anything. Those courses are designed to get you the knowledge of the law and you may get 10 rounds fired into an FBI target with 10 inch circle on it. If you get 8 anywhere in the circle you get your CCW. Should you do this? Yes. If you want to get good at shooting a pistol you need real deal 1-1 lessons. If your LGS is any good the owner or RSO is going to know who the good instructors are. Your pappy and your buddy who was in the Army aren't the people you are looking for. Take some lessons. Practice. Practice some more. Then go take one of the cool courses available out there with one of the names if you have some spare jack. I know two dudes that went to one of Stoegers courses and they said they learned a ton and laughed their asses off. Shoot some competition. Steel Challenge is the easiest and most accessible. Practice. Have fun. Look cool.
>>64700306sorry to hear that man, my GF grew up in a similar but less extreme situation. she had nightmares about getting the mark of the beast and going to hell.
>>64700418I appreciate ypu saying that. My upbringing made a lot of things in life difficult. I went down a bad road for a while when I first left home, my 20s are just a haze of drugs, booze, violence, and sex when I went full opposite of what I had been taught, even voted Democrat once in a local election lol. I still have a healthy distrust of government and authority in general, which is ironic as I now work in state government. Went no contact with my family for a long time, but we've all mellowed a bit in the last couple decades and have a reasonably good relationship. Time fixes a lot, as does distance. Hope your GF finds peace as well. Have a safe and productive new year.
>>64697471I think the standard should be pretty low, and be based more on "first do no harm" than about actually successfully hitting a target. Being able to draw and clear from standing, sitting, offhand without sweeping yourself or wildly flailing around. I think you should also put a pin in whatever the standards for LEOs are wherever you are, for comparison.>>64698038Classes seem more like a legal requirement than anything practical. I would say that this standard should be stricter than that. Anyone who FAILS at a CC course needs to be checked.
>>64699343It's more about agility and not getting your shit caught on the draw.

How funny would it be if NORK subs were actually better than west taiwan subs?
>>64699098>The norks are going to have to power that with dieselThat was a year ago, there's probably been a replacement shipment by rail since then.I don't know why they'd send it by boat in the first place unless it was just in St Petersburg and it was the wrong season for the arctic route.
>>64700055>How funny would it be if NORK subs were actually better than west taiwan subs? The answer, Norktard, would be that it would be hilarious.Of course the reason it would be hilarious is that it is so improbable. There's every reason to believe that Chinese subs are quite decent. They've had some incidents but that's a normal part of submarine ownership.
>>64700278>There's every reason to believe that Chinese subs are quite decent.RorRmaoTheir acoustic signature is on par with trawlers to the point that blending in with merchant and fishers is more an effective strategy than attempting to do better sound silencing

Thoughts about Baofeng radios?
>>64698812>spy on their meetingsRadio is public access. Even p25 and dmr. There is no expectation of privacy on the radio. Some countries will send number codes in analog voice to their spies around the world over the air. They're 1 time ciphers, so they don't give a shit. Go ahead and listen.
>>64698860>unless you're being a massive twatIt's possible, I don't like to limit myself.
>>64698860I get that nobody cares, but text on an imageboard is so, so much easier to catalog for evidence and why would I hypothetically tell on myself in the alleged case that I'm up to something against even some minor fed rules(which I am totally not doing btw)? I would imagine that making up a callsign and being polite would definitely work with no one batting as much as an eyelash, sounds fun, glad you helped me think of thinking about it. Next thread I'll just pretend that I'm licensed and it'll all be good.

It it worth getting a medium SAPI plate over small if the fitting might be off? For reference I am a small man at about 5'1. Looking at charts of how many rounds plates take, SAPI small plates generally have half durability compared to medium and up
>>64700520Just measure yourself properly, nipple to nipple and clavicles to belly button, and find the plate size that covers that the best. If you're right between sizes, you may try running a bigger plate on the back and smaller one on the front, ninja turtle style.
>>64700569>>64700520Also do the cardboard cutout test, see if you can shoulder your gun with a SAPI M. The added strike face area and coverage is good if ergonomics aren't affected. It's true that SAPI S plates are down on multi-hit.
How would Monsters of legends Like minotaurs, Cyclops, Dragons and the like have fared against the arquebus
>>64698544Other than being a rather large profile target wouldn’t they make good dragoons?
>>64700200Some Cyclops are demigods, what with being the offspring of Poseidon and all. At least the original generation. I suppose after a thousand years there would be some with mucb less divine blood, but they'd still have some so magical muscles isn't that far fetched. Three are confirmed brethren of the titans so a 50 ft tall being with super powers isn't impossible, especially considering the shenanigans the Olympians got up to.
>>64700213>cant climb a ladder or go pronethey're just targets
>>64700243Polyphemus hurls a boulder so large it nearly capsizes a trireme. The boat is literally pushed by the surging water a distance. That's a big fucking guy, with considerable super strength even for his size.
>>64700251they can go prone they just lay on their side and tilt.
i see no point in bullpup rifles, i mean they go trough all that work, only to provide miniscule results, all because they keep recirculating AR derived slop design. the only guns i have seen as a viable solution is either KRASA or the "grip repeating rifle", and not for its name sake.. only the bolt design. anyhow, this is my take on what a bullpup should be.. it feeds from behind magazine, so you obtain 3 more inches of barrel, mix this with the bullpup setup and suddenly what should be a 10" barrel gun, can become a 20"..

Based Canada
>>64669324>QuebecI wouldn't expect much. Most things Quebec does tend to run behind schedule and under-deliver, mostly because it's basically a welfare state kept afloat by the rest of the country. They generally don't want to work as much as they just want to get paid.
>>64679647>Hopefully big dick Carney makes the right decisionHe just put a fellow former Goldman Sachs alumni in charge of unfucking the military and still hasn't canned any of the retards that were in charge last term. We're in for another 4 years of nepotism and chug gibs assuming he doesn't buy out more ministers and set what's left of their public opinion on fire.
>>64694131>Could triple the budget just by ending gibs to injunsBut then they wouldn't be able to pay lawyers to lobby for more gibs to pay more lawyers!
>>64698119>Ah yes. Those billions that regular Quebec citizens sees so much of. That, once accounted for by capita, makes for less than a week's paycheck per year. As a white adult man who has never been unemployed, never needed medical or social services support and never not been taxed more than you have, I sure as fuck couldn't survive without those. So we're all in agreement that equalization payments can be discontinued then?Surely it wouldn't make sense to continue garnishing the wages of hard working Canadians for a pointless redistribution scheme that isn't actually needed.
>>64669324Forgive the slop but IS that possible? can you purpose build a submarine to be an icebreaker? That would not only be SO Canadien of them but also you could disarm it and fill it with gay scientists because Canada is pansy-socialist.Ice. Breaking. Submersible.Something in my pants says YES.
Is there a kind of camo like this but against laser range finders and target lock systen?
>>64700101>Thats the pointYes, I said that in >>64699912But that's not the only point or benefit, as the false bow wave thing makes clear.
>>64700038One is a mental disturbance, the other is using actual, physical limitations.Dazzle camo plus optical rangefinders and the human eye just confounded the spotters abilitiy to image match a straight line. A psychological defense would have said spotter questioning their sexuality and the nature of their relationsip with their mother and sister.
>>64699901may be, but the light travels between the target and the detector at the same speed so as long as some light is reflected back, the range value is the same. Regardless of what you cover a tank with, the laser return is at best attenuated in power, not delayed in the time of return in any way that would disrupt the range calculation. The medium the laser travels through between the emitter and the target has more impact on the quality of lasing than the surface of the target. We already have soft-kill APS to interrupt laser ranging by putting smoke between the target and the laser source.
>>64699476>laser range findersFull ship mirror surface should do the trick.>target lock systemWhat like radar? Just stealth coat it, how hard can it possibly be?
>>64700559lidar only needs a miniscule fraction of the photons to return. you won't make a mirror perfect enough at sea.
I'll start; Mossberg Patriot Everyone shit talked this rifle even though it's perfectly functional, accurate and one of the better looking budget guns
>>64691490the RUGER AMERICAN
>>64698186Nice inexpensive rifle, I hope they start importing them to my country, we have a ton of savages and patriots for sale but no rugers which is a shame

This is the bare minimum amount of ammo you need. 3 or 4 mag placards are cope.
>>64689953>>64689969
>you guys are using magazine pouches?
>>64689929>I can't crawl!I put as many on my battle belt as possible. You kids don't even train.
>>64689929im in some first world country, enlisted in an army that thinks it can do usa tier operations on sudan's budgetlots of guys buy in the tacticool shit and get 3 mags pouches on our (shit issued) plate carriersi got 4 mag pouches that hold 2 stanags AR mags but since we're retards we still use steel mags and i can squeeze about 12 just on my plate carrier, i think im not doing to bad and for all the time we only carry 6 i can fit monster cans there
>>64697069Sounds chunky but assuring that you have that much ammo on you. I'm swapping from 1x3 gen 2 taco pouches to velcro flap pouches that can hold 1-2 mags of any kind(save for .308, only 1 per) and may be 3 ar mags if you use the thin metal mags you mentioned. Like the idea of being able to go slim or more mags easily and they'll compress better than the tacos when not filled.

Which is the best method for CQB and room clearing /k/?
>>64700437Save them? This ain't no hostage situation. This is a war
>>64700437Sacrifices must be made.
>>64699754I've long suspected that refining and standardizing the Russian method would probably be the best way, but obviously nobody wants to touch that. Throw a bunch of fentanyl gas grenades in, breach with respirators and then have guys outside with pre-dosed naxalone injectors ready to treat anybody you want to live. Maybe every guy in the stack could have a reusable narcan spray on their belt, so they can start dosing people while the guns are still smoking. The idea was always solid, it just needs some more robust SOPs to prevent a Moscow theatre outcome.
