He wasn’t lying, was he?

That wasn’t me. One PX4 is enough.

The sales are hitting, boys, and I am shaking. I am a giant slut for cheap shitty guns, anything under $300 makes me salivate. I can grab a Stoeger STR-9F locally for only $220, a GForce Arms RPX9 Exodus for $275, Beretta APX A1 Carry is at $190 after rebate. I can't do it, bros, another week of sales and I'm going to bust a whole paycheck on Turkshit I just know it.

I was browsing their site a few months ago looking for stuff to fill out an order and I saw they had signed pictures of Ernest Langdon (PBUH). I thought it would be funny. As soon as I ordered it it was removed from the site, so they must have had like 5 of them.

If you’re an Beretta appreciator, he’s your guy. He designed the RDO mount, he made the short reset trigger bars, he’s the reason for the resurgence of the PX4 and 92. He got James Reeves to replace his Glock with a PX4
>>
>>61968922
idk did he serve? was he a marine or in the navy? gay shit is probably just background radiation from his perspective.

>>61968926
that's cool, really cool. honestly all this noise about the px4 (in /hg/) has me giving it a more honest look for a ccw.

He was in the USMC for a while, trained a lot with the Beretta M9, got out, worked at Beretta USA for quite a while. He went from customer service help desk taking phone calls to being the head of law enforcement sales. He also shot competitively for Team Beretta. He then worked for a few different companies, I heard something in the early 2000s he had a falling out with Beretta and was off the team and he shot Sig P226s instead. He also worked for Wilson Combat as their Beretta advisor. Started his own company, worked with Beretta on some collab guns, he asked them to make a RDO mount for the 92 and they told him it was impossible. He would then self teach solidworks and designed it himself. He also designed the short reset trigger bar.

I listened to a podcast he did

As long as the screws holding the plate to the optic don’t come loose. Common complaint of installed plates on slides is that they don’t use enough thread locker and also use blue loctite which isn’t great. I replace it with vibratite and never have an issue down the line.

LTT CS says it’s a PMS issue to me, but to a YouTuber they’ll say “our bad, it’s a problem and we’ll fix it”. They’re not the perfect company but I trust them a lot more than some other small gunshops. Horror stories of gunsmiths holding your slide hostage after you send it in, blatant lies on lead times from being 4 weeks to holding your slide for 6 months. I haven’t heard of LTT ever bungling a cut destroying anyone’s slide.

>>61969065
You missed their Christmas sale and their 10th anniversary sale. They did complete sales where even the guns are discounted, everything except custom work orders like RDO cuts and other shop time work.
>>
>>61969081

>>
>>61969086
>As long as the screws holding the plate to the optic don’t come loose.
the first 100 rounds had my dot drifting left and right, a LOT. I removed the dot and tightened everything like an ape and things held for the following 400~ rounds. I am liking this idea of going back in there and using vibratite.
>>
Is the Peltor ComTac V worth upgrading to from Howard Leight electronic earmuffs? Are they more comfortable? Do they block loud sounds better? Is the electronic amplification better quality?
>>
>>61969116
Yeah, the full size has a rail, different grips, different serrations on the front strap and mainspring housing, larger slide stop and safety.
>>
>>61969138
I'll let you know soon, just bought two pair of the single comms lead version of the ComTac V.

My Howard Leights earpads had gotten kinda hard and they're definitely not blocking sound as well anymore and I'm always double up with earplugs. For the previous ce of replacing the pads, it didn't seem worth it.
>>
>>61969136
ape retightening things is not a good idea. LTT is smart in how they use replaceable T nuts, over torquing these T nuts stretches the nut and screws. Do not over tighten the 3 screws holding the plate to the slide, if you fuck up those 3 holes by snapping a screw or cross threading you have to send the slide back to LTT to fix it.

It would be a good idea to get replacement screws and nuts some time so if you ever mess one up you don’t have to wait on replacement parts.
https://langdontactical.com/red-dot-optic-rdo-replacement-parts/

This is me learning from experience, I never fucked up a slide but I have fucked up these t nuts and screws
>>
>>61969180

Also do not buy the 30mL bottle of vibratite. You do not need that much vibratite, how it’s designed you’re likely to get vibratite on the threads holding the cap on making it impossible to open.

Get the 5 mL tube. That’ll last you a long time since you do not need a lot.
>>
>>61969138
They're more durable and the sound quality is better. Cheap earmuffs are generally cheap in every quality (except noise reduction, since that part's trivial)

>>61969180
LTT plates coming loose despite allegedly being torqued and loctited seems like a common enough problem that I'm not going to discourage anyone from giving them a couple extra inch-lbs.
>>
>>61969218
I’ve never had a problem once it was vibratited, I use a torque wrench usually but I think on my carry gun I just free handed it.

There are a gorillion laser engravers, you can just ask any of them to do anything. If they say no there are still a gorillion -1 left to try. Like what? I've owned Glocks, M&Ps, Berettas, Sigs, I've not owned a "good" gun that wasn't unremarkable. My G19 was "fine" the way my M&P9 Shield was "fine," but I was never excited to get either out to the range. Shit like that is just like a Toyota Corolla to me, equal parts practical and uninteresting. I see very pretty Berettas and CZs that hit me like luxury cars, expensive and pretty but no better at getting from A to B than the Corolla, certainly not in my hands. I like 30y/o 200,000+ mile beaters that need constant repair and garner no respect or attention from others, I am gratified by inconvenience.

The only cheap gun I've ever found disappointing was all Hi-Points, makes any SCCY or Kel-tec look like it was handcrafted by a Swiss watchmakers. New Hi-Points still have that Raven/Lorcin/Davis/Sundance/Jennings/Bryco/Jimenez/JAI level of "quality." It's disgusting that they're still SO FUCKING BAD when a company like SCCY can afford to sell a <$200 gun with zero MIM parts in it. Hi-Point should stop with their incredibly retarded design and slap their big retarded slides onto a simplified double-action frame like a Diamondback DB9/DB380. They'd cut the part count in half, they'd be safer, cheaper to make, more reliable, and they could retail for $89.95 like they should be doing already.

That's what I said, Burt. I liked my G19 about as much as the average leased Corolla driver likes their Corolla. When I was talking about the higher-end shit I was referring to my interest in LTT's 92 Elite, the Staccato XC, or anything made by TTI as I am clearly tasteless. I'll take 40 year old C-10 or a decomm'd CVPI over -any- brand new car on the road today, and I'd still carry my CPX-3 if I had a Staccato at home. I like guns, but I have passion for cheap handguns.

Mec Gar makes 15 rounders for the 92, the end result of the 92/92X is a gun that's basically on the smallest end of fullsize. I turned mine into a Roland Special knockoff since its borderline combat pistol size anyways for the ultimate CC larp. I have to carry it on my abs in an enigma holster to keep it from smacking into my balls.

$38 Hi-Point progress. Slide is 99% stripped, just needs some brushing, and the barrel is getting stripped and polished. I'm happy enough with the frame, it'll do the job. It's the Lo-Point V2, I changed the trigger guard and rail to make it stronger and easier to print, and cleaned up the bottom of the handle because it was a heinous mess. I also added some comic sans dollar-signs and warning messages. I've got my gold paint, and I'm even going to use primer and clear coat because I'm a man of culture and means. It's a 380. I trust printed firearms as much as I trust my own knowledge of firearms and mechanical engineering. Retards and faggots print shitty and unproven designs from shitty and inappropriate materials, and they get what they ask for. I've had plenty of 3D printed guns, including ones I've designed myself, and I've never experienced a failure of any kind outside of experimental testing. Meanwhile if you hop on reddit right now I'm sure you'll find someone who has resin printed a Glock frame asking "WHY DOES NOBODY DO THIS?" and people printing old abandoned Ruger P90 designs with 3 walls and 15% infill. This piece of shit I'm calling my CryPoint is a dangerous piece of shit, but not because the frame is 3D printed plastic, I'm much more frightened of the metal parts from Beemiller. >>61970329 Probably not.

This is MatterHackers Succulent Green Pro Series PLA. It's a 4043D PLA, which is plenty good enough for most printed firearms. I prefer a fiber reinforced Nylon like Polymaker PA6-GF for anything I want to last. PLA is strong as hell, never let anyone tell you different, it's far stronger than many plastics that are much harder to 3D print. With impact modifiers like you find in 4043D, 3D850, or 3D870 PLA it is incredible stuff, fucking perfect for guns in many ways and super easy to print very well. The only major drawback is the very poor temperature resistance. Being a shelf-queen and occasionally hauled to the range, this thing will last forever, but if I leave it in a hot car on a summer day it'd warp to shit and become trash. The Nylon won't do that, but it's also much harder to print well, needs to be annealed properly to get long-term performance out of it, and still suffers from long-term "creep" deformation, like trigger groups in polymer AR lowers slowly pushing their holes further apart.
>>
>>61970457
It came about because of the Beretta 96 needing more material in that area because they kept cracking frames. At some point Beretta just made one frame using it both for the 92 and 96 cutting a different pseudo feedramp for the different calibers (it’s not really a feed ramp, bullets aren’t supposed to touch it).

Is it for home defense, carry, or both? Let me list their qualities to help you decide.

SD9 2.0: Highest quality relative to price point of those listed. Good stock trigger (though the GX4's is, surprisingly, actually better imo). Not quite compact though, almost a full sized gun. Still perfectly concealable though with the right holster. Just maybe not during summer months if you mind a little printing.

Dagger compact: a cheaper generation 3 glock 19. Not quite as nice as the new SD9, but since it shares almost total compatibility with glock parts, you can use any of glock's cheap-ass mags and their many accessories down the road if you end up wanting to customize it to your needs. Probably your best choice if you're going to tinker with your gun.

Gx4 carry: Smallest and most concealable of the three by way of being thin. Takes glock sights, has a metal interior frame so it's more rugged than you might think. Takes glock pattern sights. Actually has a really good trigger for what it is. Will have more recoil than the other two due to having less mass, but the Carry model is pretty shootable regardless, unlike the regular Gx4 which is much smaller. It will be significantly more comfortable to carry concealed than the other two-- have to decide yourself how important is to you.

I've owned all three at one point or another; they're all a decent choice at the price in their modern iterations. If you have a more specific purpose in mind, though, people can probably offer some more curated recommendations at the same or similar price.
>>
>>61970814
It's for carry. I have other handguns, I just want something cheap that I won't care too much about, but that is still quality enough to trust my life to. I want something bigger than a micro but not as huge as a full size gun, but I am willing to go full size and prefer larger guns so that doesn't discount the SD9.
I guess I'll rent a GX4 and SD9 and see which one feels the best.

That's probably best. Don't discount used guns if you have a local gun store. Most of them end up being the result of some dork playing trade-in musical chairs, some futile effort to find something that ticks every box in their monkey brain. You can find shit like compact M&P 2.0s for $350 pretty often. Have fun with whatever you find, cheap ghetto blasters are a nice guilty pleasure sometimes.

>>
>>61971165
>1.) Are lights a meme for CCW or are they actually worth it?
yes and no, it really depends on where you live, when you get off work, you need to do a real threat analysis of your daily life for where you are most likely to use a gun.

more likely than not, it's just going to add unnecessary bulk to your firearm, force you to use a larger crappier holster, or abandon concealing your gun. I appendix carry, I don't like the when I attach a WML and use a light bearing holster it digs into my leg more and is uncomfortable compared to without.

>>
>>61971165
Lights are for identifying people in your house to make sure you’re killing the right person. You already have your gun out, and you’re pointing it at a person, you just want to be sure before you pull the trigger. Why would you be in that kind of situation outside of your home? There’s no need to draw your gun outside unless someone is actively attempting to kill you, in which case, you don’t need to identify them. Just kill them.
>>
>>61971165
Unironically you should have gone with a G26.

He’s one of those memers who thinks that if it’s dark enough that you can’t see your sights normally, you can’t even see the target at all. Which is kind of true, but tritium still are useful in mixed lighting scenarios and also finding your gun at night. It’s pointless, just buy the night sights if you want. Don’t if you don’t want to.

Anon that is unironically the kind of shit journalists live for. If you wax some dopeheads with a super special gun of some kind cops will show journalists it going "get a load of this shit" and they will run photos and video of it to show everybody how insane your gamer gun with a charging handle and $900 optic and extended triple port rainbow TI finished barrel and Punisher skull back plate is.
This is why you either carry a stock piece of shit or go all the way and try to be a legend.
>>
>>61971305
In theory, you’re right and I agree, but I don’t know of any instances in which a guy in a clear self defense situation was convicted because his gun was scary. Short of putting “African Eliminator” on your AR, you’re probably not going to have an issue. Having a cool gun does not show intent.
>>
>>61971317
You won't get convicted because your gun is cool, but cops and journos will show it to the world because it's very out there. It's good publicity. You could make use of it. You would be a legend if you took out a mass shooter with something like a zebra camo 1911 with a Terminator laser mounted on it and noseless animu office lady grips. Thinking of trading in my Glock 19 for a S&W M&P 2.0

I know a lot of people would see that as a downgrade but I've had the glock for 6 years, put thousands of rounds through it and I just don't like the grip angle or the ergonomics at all. Yes I can get used to it if I train on it enough, but when I take it out of the case after not hitting the range for a while I'm always like "what the fuck is this thing?"

I rented an M&P 2.0 and it just felt so much more natural. Every other pistol I own has a steep grip angle which I just prefer. My 1911, Browning Hi Power and Ruger LCP 2. Then there's the glock. It's technically fine, but I just don't like shooting it at all. Am I making a big mistake?

The M&P2.0 is way better than a Glock.
If I didn't already have a Glock I am pretty invested in, I'd probably get one.

No, why would they be?

Way better is an overstatement, the difference is mostly on subjective aspects, like the grip angle, the factory sights are better on the m&p, but the Glock barrels run circles around the M&P's, mags are way cheaper and common for glocks, it all comes down to what's important for you in a handgun, but both are top tier when it comes to defensive/service handguns
>>
>>61973238
As a comp, no. As a weight, yes.

No, .45 ACP does not generate a lot of pressure. It’ll add weight to the end of the barrel/gun/frame which most of its recoil reducing power comes from. Even +P+ 9mm will not generate enough presssure alone to run one properly, you also need extra unburnt powder to be burnt in the comp to generate extra gas or some shit.

Pic related barely does anything, it’s 9mm +P+

Also don’t buy from HKparts. They overprice everything. Their match weights are inferior to matchweight.com versions

First glance it doesn’t look like a real revolver, it doesn’t match anything the big 3 would do (Ruger, S&W, Colt). On closer inspection the two roll pins holding the site would be a distinctive feature of whatever it is, Taurus does something similar but they only use one roll pin. Still it may not be a real gun

From personal experience, I spent close to 5 years trying to deviate from the Glock 19 as my main carry gun, tried everything, a Walther PPQ (this was before the PDP was released ), the original M&P, FNs (both the FNS and the FNX), 1911s (this was painful, but I learned a lot), SIGs (p226 and a P229 once the summer started) and HKs (first a USP, the a P30, a VP9 and the USP again)... I always ended coming back to the 19, so I would encourage to experiment, but I would not get rid of the Glock, you are going to be looking for it down the line.

Thinking of getting suppressor height sights for my USP. Are there any that look like the suppressor height ones in Counter Strike 2? I was checking out the OEM HK ones but they're completely obscured without any dots which sounds like shit for finding the front blade.

Other than that I have a GG short reset plate and OEM HK match kit I dropped in there. Tried the LEM kit and immediately returned it because I am retarded and remembered that it basically takes your DA/SA and tells it to jump off a bridge.

Already did faggot, last resort is Gunbroker where I can get in a bidding war with a bot and get a Glock for a whopping $50 less than retail

They are, you just push the off and put the normal irons back. If you want no rears, dremel them off or use the DPP plate

DPP + Romeo 3 Max or Romeo X Enclosed might be the new thing. But I like back up irons.
>>
>>61974796
Why would the price of .45 be relevant to whether or not you ought to get a CZ-75?
Also, CZ-75s aren't bad guns, they just have niggly little quirks that make them a suboptimal choice for someone who's still in the "should I buy X" stage of their gun enthusiasm. If you already have all your boxes checked and are just buying guns for the sake of having them, don't let anyone stop you.

The homosex trigger component design of the PX4 aside, it shoots pretty well for a compact. No malfunctions but a couple times loading the first round on a specific magazine was having the round nosedive a little and not chamber fully. I need to get better at irons, I keep shooting them low on rapid fire since I can't really perfectly align them so I'm just making sure it doesn't shoot the roof.

I don't get it. It's too old to contend with modern options options and too young to be vintage. 2000's is just such a niche time period. Is that why they're so shille here? Are you people the gun equivalent of hipsters?
>>
>>61975669
Those are Glock factory cuts, some have made it into the market, I've seen a MOS3 17 in the wild
>>
>>61975695
I see a number of them say OEM MOS which is what I presumed to be optic cut by glock.

>>
I'm a retard and didn't realize the inside of the striker channel on the Hi-Point is also powder coated. I don't think age is really a good way to judge guns. A more reasonable criticism would be the dogshit slippery plastic grip that's so fucking awful they add talon grips in the box (and it still isn't enough). No optic cut, polymer frame only, retarded disassembly and reassembly of the trigger components.
