I think it looks good with the wrapped stock :) plus it's wider, makes the length of pull a bit better, and doesn't slide in my shoulder like the bare stock.

Sorry in advance I'm new to this general and looking to buy my first AK
1. What is wrong with PSA? I like my PA10
2. Do you think you need a 16in barrel for 7.62x39? Kinda want a shorty
3. What's your favorite type of folding stock?

1. they're fine. imports will hold their value better and everyone will seethe when you mention you own a PSA, but they've worked out most of their issues. people like to pretend we never moved past the cast trunnion era of US made AKs
2. no, AK104s are based
3. triangle folders are my favorite and have a good mix of comfort/aesthetics but the 100 series stocks are probably the best.

Now that the Russian ammo has pretty much dried up, what 7.62x39 ammo do you find works best in your ak? Watched Paul Harrells video and PMC seems to have pretty good accuracy.

Their ARs are better quality than their AKs. That said, if you don't shoot much you won't really notice their AKs are kinda shit, get one if you can get it cheap. I own one and 3 other AKs that are imports. No, you don't NEED 16 inches for anything, even ARs, because you aren't a fucking active duty special forces operator no matter how hard you use your imagination, and you won't shoot at anything but dirt and trash in your lifetime anyway. Not every gun you own has to be BATTLE READY (tm). Favorite type of folding stock is wire stock on an AKM
>>

Why haven't there been any attempts to modernize the AK on the American side? Russia has their own thing going on with the AK-12 or whatever. I know the AK market in the states is smaller than the AR market, but I feel like there should still be some sort of innovation to make something unique

I had this problem too. If it's the tapco duckbill 30 round mags they suck, it's most likely the magazine. Buy a traditional SKS fixed mag for it. It also could be the dust cover being loose or the latch being loose. Unlike the AK, the SKS relies on the dust cover being all the way on for the recoil spring to push back on. My dust cover latch was broken and it wouldn't feed rounds after one or two shots. I bought a new latch

Question for anyone with an Attero Arms Bravo XL mount and Primary Arms MD25 red dot (or anyone interested in my bullshit);
I want a cowitnessed red dot on the Attero Arms mount with a magnifier mounted off of the side rail.

Do you have a fundamental misunderstanding about the size of .30 projectiles or something? In this case, its about the cans ability to stand up the the pressure, not even the caliber since theyre all .30cal and the wolverine is like a .48 bore

The name is based off of it's land diameter.
"Bullet diameter, 7.92 mm (0.312 in). Land diameter, 7.62 mm"
If you were to measure off the rifling, that is the diameter you would get. Hence the name
Let us cease this unpleasant argument and return to posting guns that AR fags have to pay triple for since they are now chic and trendy
>>
>>62528548
Per AI,
Eastern Bloc and NATO countries historically used different methods for measuring cartridge calibers, leading to discrepancies in caliber designation despite similar or even identical ammunition sizes.

1. **NATO (Western) Measurement**:
- NATO countries, including the U.S., typically measure the **bore diameter** from land to land inside the barrel. This method measures the smallest diameter inside the rifled barrel.
- For example, the NATO 7.62×51mm cartridge refers to a bore diameter of 7.62 mm measured between the lands.

2. **Eastern Bloc Measurement**:
- Eastern Bloc countries, including the Soviet Union, measured caliber differently, often using the **groove diameter**, which is the distance between the bottoms of the rifling grooves. This represents the larger diameter inside the barrel, as grooves are cut into the bore to impart spin on the projectile.
- For example, the Soviet 7.62×39mm cartridge is also called 7.62 mm, but it refers to the groove diameter rather than the bore (land-to-land) diameter, making it appear similar but differing slightly in measurement methodology.

This difference led to some confusion, as Eastern Bloc and NATO calibers might have the same numerical designation but slightly different dimensions due to the different measurement points.
>>
>>62528623
>>62528645
so the soviets measured the bore based on the dips from the grooves in the rifling, the americans measured based on the "raised" sections of the rifling

ok fuck me i learned something today. gg lads, cheers

These days, the whole process(Including the FFL07 issuing CLEO notice) can be sub 10 days. for reference, My first can sat in ATF limbo for almost 2 years. my last can was 4 days approval and an addition 3 days for the cleo letter to arrive at its destination. Also don't pay more than $800 no matter what. They've gone on sale as cheap as $650 before, dont get jewed if you can help it.

Various Romanian AK's like the ROMARM AK47 SR-1 were imported during the late 90's early 00's without threaded barrels so as to not run afoul of the "sporting purposes" regulation pertaining to foreign made semi auto rifles. The 1993 AWB only applied to "military style" rifles so your could still import "sporter" AK's with unthreaded barrels and single stack magazines even after 1993. The Norinco Hunter is a notable example of post ban "sporter" AK.

Does your AK have ROMARM stamped on it? If so that gun actually predates the WASR name and isn't technically a WASR even though it is a Romanian rifle. I'm not super familiar with these guns but I have seen them around.

>the chink ones use the spike bayonets
Type 56 carbines with serial numbers below 9,000,000 have the Russian-style blade-type folding bayonet, while those 9,000,000 and higher have a "spike" type folding bayonet

Point is that it appears to be a smaller auction place and locals can't bid unless their exempted caste

The PSA AK47 GF3 series
seems to be fairly highly regarded but the buyers guide says no PSA

what's the problem with PSA AKs?

AK buyers are cargo cult retards. Do you want to buy a US made AK? It’s fine, go ahead and get the PSA. Do you want an import that will hold more value when selling 2nd hand to the cargo cult retards? Then buy an import. It’s really that simple.

It's no different than any other gun, you buy quality or cope with an inferior product.
>>
>>62563891
so what does the extra money get you in terms of performance when you get a high end AK vs a PSA one?

Going with the 512. I liked shooting my buddy's. If I end up not liking it I have an extra t2 laying around that I'll probably slap on.

Im sorry, Mr. Moneybags, that I don’t throw around money needlessly without asking questions. Some advice, if you want to be financially successful in life you should care about even the smallest amount of money, especially regarding hobbies. Where did you get $1200 for a Dead Air Wolverine? I think all told i paid with the tax stamp I paid about $855. You sound like a nogunz bud.
