I got some of the superformance and that shit was pissing hot but it's also tipped. Not sure about the original black hills I'm late to the game when it comes to this stuff.
>>
>>62508031
Just a guess but while the TMKs are technically better, they aren't very transformative over what a 75 T2 or 77 SMK will already do for ~7-10cpr cheaper so most manufacturers don't really bother. If you care to load your own though, they seem to generally have good stock at all the normal component dealers.

Same. afaik the psa 77gr otm was partly developed by hornady with aac, the smks and tmks are specifically advertised as such. I'm just referring to what's in stock now. I've noticed a lot of other 'cheap' 77gr ammo uses hornady 77gr, which has the same bc as the smks but I wouldn't be surprised if the terminal ballistics was not 1:1
>>62508069
PSA, they even make "premium" ones with fn barrels and fsbs, but your front sight WILL be clocked off center because your barrel nut WILL be over torqued. I can guarantee you of this, I am willing to bet money.
Del-ton and Anderson make "true" dissipator uppers.
There are a few literal-who companies that put together faux dissipators.

b5 grip where?
>>
>>62508495
It's the Bravo5. I recommend the acog+rmr/t2 to most friends/customers and so I compare my many copecogs to the acog a lot.
Bravo5 pros
>good glass clarity
The gun it was on got rusted then sat gathering dust. Even before I cleaned it up it was plenty clear to see through a window. Reiterating: good glass clarity
>long battery life
>good fov, almost acog fov
that's where the pros end.
CONS
>More brittle than you think
can handle .308 recoil but zero will likely move if you let it fall from a reasonable height.
>XBOXHUGE HEAVY
>23 OUNCES
>1.4 LBS OF CHINA POTMETAL
>MY
>ASS
>IS
>HEAVY
>overpriced for what it is
Probably the most expensive copecog and easily the most airsoft tier

I think primary arms copecogs are the poorfag standard for a reason. Their microprisms have a higher fov than this monster while weighing a third and somehow being more durable. Obviously if you can wait a month just get an acog. Do as I say not as I do.

a 20” govt barrel is not the same as every other barrel size. there is only an addition 3 or 4 oz added (at the worst spot for weight) but it’s really not much different from a 20” pencil in the grand scheme of things. so it’s definitely worth getting the chf cl barrel

.308 if you want more barrel life. 6.5 if you’re looking for less trajectory arc at similar barrel length/ranges and more consistency at longer ranges.

16” minimum if you want to reach out to more than 600-800 yd well.
12.5 minimum if you want a compact battle rifle that could reach out to GPR/SPR/Mk12 ranges.

Open question regarding scope height as I plug in ballistic data:

I've been adding my mount height (1.5") to the height over the center of the bore to the top of the rail (1.215" for ARs) to get my scope height. Strelok and chairgun both round it to 2.7". Does this seem accurate? Using a ruler I got closer to 2.87" but I'm inclined to trust manufacturer specs

yup. moved to the 75gr for BC reasons. Submoa all day with both. Can pull some chrono data too. ES as low as 19FPS though last time my first two cold bore groups of 5 had ES in the 40s. Gets as high as 80. Considering it's a few cents more expensive than M193 and I can buy it in smaller increments (usually ~200) it's worth it for me since I can go from a 50y tactical bay to a 500-1000y range with zero fuss

Thanks, this fits my use case perfectly. I unironically love winny white box m193 for training ammo but given the price of the 77gr, it almost makes sense to just stack 77gr instead of both. I ordered 600rds, will see how my rifle likes it and go from there

The AAC 77g is fine. Some batches run into issues but I think PSA does a pretty good about getting that squared up if need be.
If you do a lot of rifle skill builders from like 10 yards then I think it makes sense to use something like PMC bronze 223 and stack that up but for stuff at 100y and beyond I think the AAC 77g is good enough

I guess for the 99% of the time you're not using the laser it's better since it gets the weight back, frees up hand space, and obstructs the optic less depending on what you have but that 1% or whatever when you'd be using it really sucks.

Just as good if not better. Also have data for the 'sabre black tip' counterpart if you want. Same POA/POI out to 300y at least

Each capture each is after a 5-round test group, started from cold bore. Could figure out the order of the groups if you need. Long story short it's consistently sub-moa and I'm shooting off a shitty magpul bipod, my rear bag is a sock filled with beads from walmart. Scope is a Viper @6x with a tenebraex killflash (which i've noticed ever so slight decrease in clarity/light transmission from...not bad at all but also definitely not helping). Barrel is a 16" triarc track 2.0 and I do have an g-man SSA in there but it didn't shrink my groups at all desu (pretty sure the bipod/lack of decent front back is what's holding me back...optic too probably).

the stocks yes, terrible for bags. Prone to releasing the catch and collapsing the stock at the worst possible moment. The grips are superior to most though

PSA has their lower forged option for $450 and free shipping. I am looking at their forged 20" upper. I have watched all sorts of videos on which upper is the best/preferred. It seems like the PSA sabre line is the best bang for the buck and gets a lifetime warranty. I am not going bolt so I guess 308 it is.

Does anyone here have a preference?

The barrel length and reticles are nigglegible. I would go with the TA110 or TA11J. This reticle has machine gun beat zones out to 1000

This is what I'm doing this fall. Kinda bored of wasting $100 in ammo per range trip
>>
>>62510044
start collecting your brass for reloading.
i can get it down to about $.35 to $.40 cents per round. takes time but better than watching fucking TV in the year 2024.Feel more productive ans manly too
>>
>>62510170

Yeah, someone was asking me if shooting is fun and that's when I realized that no, it's not fun at all.
>>

>>
>>62510170

>>

brother, if ammo prices piss you off please stay away from boats. you have to absolutely commit, and hopefully you're talking about fresh water. keeping the gelcoat damage free from hardgrowth will be enough to drive you mad.
>>
>>62510170
>$.35 to $.40
that's like regular price 223 dude, cheap 5.56 is like .40 cpr on the regular
>>
>>62510207
Sheesh, I think I've spent 30k on guns/ammo this year. I really need to stop, this shit isn't even fun to actually shoot. I think I'm more addicted to buying things.

Many such cases!
>>
>>62510170
>i can get it down to about $.35 to $.40 cents per round
That's only marginally less than factory loads. The only reason to handload 5.56 & 9mm is to make "special" (hot, light, heavy, AP, sabot, etc) loads or loads that are perfectly fit to a specific gun. If you just want plinking ammo you won't come out ahead.
>>
gunsooming is pretty fun though
>>
>>62510186
it's not cheap, but it's not crazy expensive.
I can advise if you need. resizing the brass is a pain, however Giraud Tri-Way trimmers combine 3 steps into 1, and an auto power measure make things eeeeeeasy. i use a single stage, not a Dillon repeater or anything gnarly
>>
I buy a rifle and then I buy an entire kit around it, just to justify buying the rifle. It's a bad habit.
>>
>>62510181
Shooting was fun when I was a kid on my parents' farm in the middle of nowhere. As an adult in a shitty city making lots of money, I don't enjoy driving to the range on a day off in order to shoot at paper to the tune of the RO's bullhorn like I'm back at work as a robot in a paper-hole-punching factory. A friend took me to the only private range nearby and it's busy enough to be just as bad except everybody is friends with each other there.

Totally respect reloading, but if the goal is lower cost then it's definitely not worth it when you factor in time. If you're in it to gain a deeper understanding of bullets/ballistics and practice a useful skill, that's different. But I wouldn't even bother calculating cpr at that point

I need to buy a bunch of shit for hunting and I really don't feel like it
>>
>>62510577
Like what? Deer are fucking stupid. You can cover yourself in doe urine, throw your brand new camo into a trash bag full of dirt and leaves from the area you hunt, learn how to walk like a native American, etc but none of it will help like people believe it will. All you need to kill white tail is a single shot 270 and the will power to sit still
>>
>>62510633
A rifle, orange hat/vest, maybe a jacket, some bug spray for ticks, a decent fixed blade knife
>>
I've never been hunting. What do you do after you kill the deer, do you have some kind of sled to drag it back to your truck or whatever and then do all the cutting and skinning at home or do you do everything at the spot and just take back what you want and leave the rest for scavengers?
>>
>>62510657
Depends how far you are from your vehicle. Most guys gut it on the spot and leave the guts there, then drag the carcass. If you're going super far you'd probably skin and quarter it on the spot
>>
>>62510657
If you're hunting for food you should be in a spot where you can get a vehicle or pack animal in to get the meat out, dragging out 100+ lbs of meat across miles of difficult terrain isn't feasible.
The secret is that many hunters are hunting for sport rather than meat, and they still have 30 lbs of barely edible pepperoni sticks in their freezer from last year, so they slice up only the best parts to take home in a backpack and leave the rest for the coyotes.
>>
>>62510657
field dress it, bring it back to your garage, wash it out/down and hang it (may need to hacksaw off the head if you don't have enough clearance space). Now you skin it and quarter/filet, etc, ziploc baggy, vacuum seal it and put it in a deep freezer after marking what it is and the date.

The Athlon 2-12 is pretty decent and it’s only like $500.
If you only care about bench rest shooting it’s fine.
All the other options you mentioned are also fine it depends on what you want to do / prioritize.
If you are going to watch Ben Stoeger videos and go do doubles and bill drills at 7 yards then you just want a red dot. The dog 4xt pro seems to be fine but there’s probably other cheaper options which are fine and if you want to ball out get an aimpoint T2.
TA02 with a dot on top is also fine but as someone with a top dot on an elcan I will tell you it’s not comfortable to shoot a dot that high and takes a lot of practice to get used to.
LPVOs are fine too.
Vortex Viper PST is a pretty good budget option and it’s going to be able to do the short range stuff and the 200 yard stuff just fine.
Just try not to drop it.

Because they're gonna be making guns here and that's gonna ruin the value of my h&ks. Fuck these fucking rats.

Took a long hard look in the mirror today. It took a while for it to all "crystallize" but I can't make it through a single film or TV show. I feel nothing when I watch sports. I have embraced my fate and am doubling down on being a training lifestyle guy. I already had a lift done and mud tires thrown on this weekend, and I've been thinking up my sleeves. I need some ink that doesn't scream operator wannabe, or stolen valor, but that I'm just possibly a good guy that knows his way around the range and knows a thing or two about society and history . Maybe a mix of subtle esoteric & patriotic stuff, a few skulls and whatnot, but not overt death dealer type imagery. I definately want to have the Halo rings on my elbows and maybe some other gamer dog whistles like the Half-Life crowbar. As for gun stuff maybe just a lower with a third hole beaming illuminating light rays out of it or something lol. That would be so fucking sick.

They are super handy, lucky to have free access to one thru the range I work at. Love providing data to others when I can...lmk if there's other shit you're interested in seeing (I can dig up the 77gr OTM data - maybe even have some for the pricier SMKs that were like 80cpr but appear to be forever out of stock)

what, the meth? bc this screams florida man.

what hurts most is that I love halo & half-life. Thankfully, I'm not a retarded faggot who spends money on ink over ammo...

Whoa whoa best president? A con man and a liar? What about Reagan and FDR? Best president, my ass. He rigged the first election and it won’t happen again.

Pretty much what everyone said. Depending which spot I'm in I don't have to drag it far or at all. My uncle has all the stuff for processing them now but before that I'd gut it, skin it, quarter it, and keep the meat. I don't leave the deer there because my aunt lives right there in the other direction and she doesn't like the smell for obvious reasons. We have a dumping spot where we take the carcasses.

i don't have sleeves myself but im thinking about it. im have a mario mushroom, green pipe, a fire flower, bullet bill, the triforce, master sword etc, im a huge Nintendo fan thats just getting into AR's. i want to get Link holding up a Tmag like it's the master sword eventually but im putting all my funds to ammo rn bc the translucent shading would be mega $$. i also have a sonic tattoo so its like complete heresy lol.

Mainly these but also the A1 stripped upper, A1 upper completion kit, and plastic furniture. Lowers seem to be out of stock so I'll be stuck with an H&R or something.
