i think i finally get why some guys develop a fetish for penis and a strong desire to watch men jack off or even suck a penis
when you cum, your body releases a huge rush of endorphins that is meant to relax you and deepen your attraction to your partner. we can see this on display with a lot of people having one or a few porn stars they particulalry like, with some scant few even falling in love with porn stars despite having never met them. this is thanks to the release of oxytocin, the "love hormone", during orgasm.
men are very visual. they like to look at things like porn. they also like to look at their own penis when they cum. anyone who's ever fucked a guy knows they like to look down and see the action, especially when they're cumming while jacking off
what if staring at their own boner when cumming over and over again reinforced a strong attraction to penis

The book argues that, contrary to common feminist and women's rights rhetoric, women in industrialized cultures are not oppressed, but rather exploit a well-established system of manipulating men.

Vilar writes, "Men have been trained and conditioned by women, not unlike the way Pavlov conditioned his dogs, into becoming their slaves. As compensation for their labours men are given periodic use of a woman's vagina." The book contends that young boys are encouraged to associate their masculinity with their ability to be sexually intimate with a woman, and that a woman can control a man by socially empowering herself to be the gate-keeper to his sense of masculinity. Vilar states that this has been going on for some time.

The author says that social definitions and norms, such as the idea that women are weak, are constructed by women with their needs in mind. Vilar explains how it works: if women are viewed as weak, less is expected of them; and therefore they are given more leeway in society than men. Vilar states that women are generally "gold diggers" who attempt to extract money and other material resources from men. One means by which women control men to effect this transfer of resources is praise. Women dole out praise to men only when their needs are met in some way.

Can gender dysphoria be just a symptom of bipolar disorder in some people? Do you think it can be induced by manic or psychotic episodes?

Isn't one of the diagnostic criteria for gender dysphoria supposed to be "persistence"?
If it goes away as the mania wanes, then it's not persistent. QED.

For what it's worth, I think people should be able to transition even if they don't qualify for a gender dysphoria diagnosis.

You are describing allegories and themes. I know Toby Fox makes stories with allegories and themes, very few people manage to make stories without those. And highbrow doesn't necessarily mean "deep" it just means high culture (I almost exclusively enjoy lowbrow stuff). I found the idea of spending a significant amount of time on analyzing Deltarune to be funny because I usually don't really take games seriously as an artform even though I often daydream of making them. BUT the first Thief game is aesthetically pleasing in a way that I actually take very seriously.
>>
>>42040232
True, true, haha.
>highbrow doesn't necessarily mean "deep" it just means high culture
>I found the idea of spending a significant amount of time on analyzing Deltarune to be funny because I usually don't really take games seriously as an artform even though I often daydream of making them
This is a preference thing and I am too exhausted to phrase myself well, so I won't go on for too long, but I kinda hate the whole premise of art needing to be or feel a certain way to be worth celebrating. It doesn't need to be "sophisticated" it just needs to be beautiful (and there are countless ways beyond surface aesthetics or literary strength to achieve this)
I think the alternative, "art for art's sake," goes to strange places, where a Tsukushi panel is somehow of less value than some self-indulgent modern piece in the Broad because it is missing some unspoken criteria for validation.
Anyways, the art-not-art debate in video games was had many times over, and the result is that there is a somewhat large space for decidedly "high art" gaming, so if you want to jump in, you've got company. I don't know if Manifold Garden, Disco Elysium, Inside or Alto's Adventure impress you though lel
>>
>>42039467
Liking Deltarune is fine, and even great actually, because it *is* a good game. But it being everything you talk about is kinda crazy.
Its like people that like Tame Impala. His music *is* good (it's mixed and mastered incredibly well, for instance), but if it's all you talk about, you need to listen to more music. Because it's not doing anything crazy, lol, it just executes incredibly well on all of the basics. Same for Deltarune. It's an indie RPG that executes incredibly well on all of the basics.
>>
>>42041298
I was going to name Disco Elysium as an example of a possibly more culturally relevant game, but I haven't played it. Another recent example of a game where the creator is at least somewhat cultured and has a vision is Cruelty Squad but the gay video essayists made liking that game embarrassing.
There are many modern indie games that try to be artistic but the problem is usually that the creators aren't cultured enough (lowbrow) and their only exposure to storytelling is through other games and a few movies. So they do things they believe to be transgressive or new, but end up just replicating stuff that was done way better a hundred years ago. I do think that games are technically art but most of them aren't very insightful and use very cheap tricks and cliches to evoke emotion which I don't like.
Undertale relies on obvious metanarrative and over the top quirky characters to account for Toby Fox's lack of storytelling abilities.
>>
>>42039467
No? Most people like it like it's a toby fox game for goodness sake, it's like saying undertale wasn't popular Xd

I have OCD and one of my themes is questioning whether I'm transgender, how do I know if this is just an intrusive thought or actually true?

I have TOCD, told so by a psych several years ago before there was much of any documentation out there. My obsession was "but what if I'm trans" and my compulsion was endlessly scrolling the various reddit trans forums and measuring my body multiple times a day. Sometimes looping between them and not leaving my room to eat for 16 hour days. I've had a resurgence in symptoms lately because I let my diet, exercise, and sunlight exposure slip. I found that the generic "healthy lifestyle" actually did a lot to mediate rumination. No fast food, regular lifting weights, (at least) weekly meals with friends or family, regular sleep times, etc. Now I'm back in the whole and just started Pio (but not HRT) because I just wanna fuck my shit up.

Perk of TOCD is you can actively rep it easier (I will never transition). Downside is that OCD isn't limited to T as a theme. After my TOCD diagnosis I just assumed I was gay instead (HOCD) and ended up fucking two different guys that I was not at all attracted to. Then I thought I was maybe just a sociopath, then a pedophile (was gonna kms at this point ngl), then had an oedipus complex. Eventually the themes didn't land on a weird paraphilia and I got a stable life routine.

I know transitioning seems like the only way out, but it's not, because you'll start getting the "but what if I'm cis" thoughts. Find actual treatment from an OCD doc or at least make sure the rest of your life is in a healthy state first.
>>
>>42044050
How were you sure it was actually TOCD? I'm at a point where I genuinely can't even distinguish whether I'm more afraid of having TOCD or more afraid of being trans.

Now I've had srs, i deliberately wear mini skirts and 'accidentally' flash my panties to men when i go outside.

I almost fucked up though, one guy sat opposite me on the train, i did my usual thing where i briefly open my legs when i pick my bag up, and i noticed he had an erection. It all became a bit too real lol I'm gonna stop for a bit because i dont want to be raped.
