Why does he make modern Brits seethe so much?

Why… can’t they just be proud to have been the nation that created such a great writer?

We still worship Shakespeare.
>>ummm he was problematic and we have much more inclusive and brown writers today
This doesn’t happen, except with the Merchant of Venice
>>ummm he was gay
So little is known about him that people amplify even the slightest thing that could be seen as remotely biographical in his work
>>ummm he didn’t write it
Following on from that, lots of people can’t comprehend that a writer can write about things they haven’t personally experienced.

Presidential candidates have made runs playing “Born in the USA” as a patriotic song. “Hallelujah” is covered like a love song. “Every Breath You Take” is thought to be a love song.

Music is for the retarded and they don’t give a shit about anything but the hook and refrain.

Skill issue. LLM output is a mirror of one's ability in using them, which determines how (un)impressed people are by them. Like Schopenhauer said: "One sees in others only as much as one oneself is." Kind of applies here, which explains part of the polarized reception.

Yeah. I'm not a christian myself nor do I have any issue with it, so I take what he says..with a grain of salt. But I did see his course in ancient greek. So I was wondering.

I always thought Chinese is the one big classical languages that doesn't have any long-ass epic poems, but this looks suspiciously like one.

You need to start spelling words with “w” instead of “ v” wherewer “v” appears. This is because “w” is an inherently heroic and wholesome shape, whereas “v” embodies ewerything harmful, deceitful, and willainous (note, I’m only talking about written language, I make the “v” sound as normal when speaking) Trust me, this will improwe your entire way of life.

Yeah, Euripides Helen might be an original creation of the writer. By making Helen entirely innocent and setting up wars as inventions of gods/ fate created merely to depopulat the earth and mess with men- you can see why that recontextualization appeals to modernites more than so called boring Sophocles

My lust died the second I wrote the average feminine nature on paper and stratified it according to its moral nature. I am now convinced that the only thing you are supposed to do as a soul, as a man is to wrestle your own flesh into submission, find God and develop a prosperous and altruistic relationship with our creator in order to escape this prison. 99% of women are half humans with no souls, everything they strive for and enjoy is ultimately evil in its nature. The very core of femininity is absolute evil that seeks to devour good men with the same glee and joy youd get from stomping out some dorky kids sand castle.

Once I realized why women are the way they are, it's like I've finally been enlightened as to why hermit monks become hermits in the first place. It's all a lie, its all a joke. This planet is a prison, women are archons who genuinely don't give a fuck about anything but they have to pretend to have interests beyond themselves just so men dont become suspicious and notice the huge disparity in the nature of each gender. It's not a complimentary nature, it's completely one-sided and parasitic. The entire role of women is to entrap a mans life force and pull another soul onto this false reality incarnation trap. Thats all they were designed to do. Satan takes a hold of their hivemind vessels with comedic ease and no resistance. They are all beyond corrupt, they fall apart once a month and endure pain unless they fulfill their ill-natured task. There is nothing in this world worth striving for besides Gods love. There is absolutely NOTHING in this world that is worth your place in heaven.

>"When the "whore" side of the dichotomy intalls itself in the male's psyche, so does misogyny."
>"I've never regarded women as anything other than people to begin with."
Considering one's reference point of what a "person" is is usually themselves and their like, then you're basically admitting that whatever you see in the "whore" reflects what you see in yourself. Thing is, not all men are whores, so even if one sees women as just people made in his likeness, there'd still be an expectation mismatch.
Not to mention that, if they are just like anything else, then why'd you pursue them romantically? If there is nothing special about a woman, then why would one regard them as if there is? Even the idea of a relationship is rendered useless because you can get everything else - sexual fulfillment, support, etc - without the need to give so fucking much of yourself to someone else.

They're all shit. JW's claim that the crucifix was actually a pole instead of a cross even though there's literally a staurogram in many early New Testament manuscripts. For instance, in Luke 14:27, the JW's translate 'cross' as 'torture stake', even though the word in the original manuscripts literally uses a staurogram.
>>
>>24967365
Where do these JW conspiracy theories come from? My grandmother has been one her entire life and at various times in my life I've gone to their meetings/conventions and it is never described the way I see people describe it online. Its a pretty standard church going experience as far as I've experienced and the only difference that ive observed is that they take their Christianity very seriously. There are a few details they disagree with from other Christians but otherwise its the exact same bible and spirituality
>>
>>24967546
Its not in the attending, its in the trying to leave. Even with the proselytizing JWs dont demand too much more from their members than the average seriously-practiced evangelical congregation.
Over the pulpit shunning for excommunicated/disfellowshipped members is extreme for a modern church.
>>
>>24967546
>There are a few details they disagree with from other Christians but otherwise its the exact same bible and spirituality
This is not accurate

They differ in major areas theologically from Christianity. And if you disagree they refer to Christians in the sense of catholics/Protestants as "Christendom" in a derogatory way

Differences in belief include
>Christ is not God, he is a created being, and actually Michael the archangel
>God's grace is referred to as an undeserved kindness and must be maintained through works. You can never be sure you have done enough to maintain your salvation
>Christ began ruling invisibly over the earth in 1914. This is also when Satan was cast out of heaven iirc
>Russell the founder is essentially God's chosen vessel. Everyone prior was wrong. He had the true message God wanted shared
>hell does not exist. People not forgiven by jehovah ill be whiped out come judgement day

Also have random stuff like
>Christ died on a stake not a cross

I recently finished reading 为人民服务 (Serve the people) by 阎连科 (Yan Lianke). It was the first book I've read in traditional characters rather than simplified but it didn't make the process any more difficult. I had to check words/chengyu about 2-3 times per page, but less as I read more. The plot was tight, descriptions long where they needed to be and short otherwise. Idk what to read for my next book though, in the meantime I have just been reading some Lu Xun short stories.
