First, the Big Bang; expansion of space-time.
Before its heated course we cannot say.
Our laws are broken at its conception
And it's expanding is continuing.
Though we know it expanded much faster
In those primordial moments of time
When the first particles became and danced.
Four forces bind matter and energy;
Gravity - Newton's misunderstood child
Electromagnetic - charge of atoms
Strong nuclear force - Joycean etymon
Weak nuclear force - radioactive
Sculpted into reality by God
Like the stone faces hewn on Mount Rushmore

The Big Bang supports the idea of your god.
The atheist believes in a big expanse of nothing before the bang, whereas the Christian believes in a dude existing prior to the bang that He made happen. Sure a Christian believes this all happened about 5000 years ago and only took a week to sort itself out, but it is the same concept.

(Both wrong of course)

>my problem is I think their gods are small and their metaphysics is weak
You're wrong here. Sikhism is not polytheistic in the way you’re implying. For all the problems, Sikhism has the best definition of God. It feels alien, something truly well beyond what we can perceive rather than skydaddy

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/God_in_Sikhism

>a tool to pragmatically bridge the cultural & political divide between indian hindus and indian muslims
Reducing Sikhism to “a pragmatic bridge between Hindus and Muslims” is like reducing Christianity to “a Roman social technology”

>their religion is aesthetic and metapolitical
So does basically every major faith. It is pretty explicit about being political. The Guru's them wore two swords, one for spiritual power and the other for temporal.
After the domination of south asia by nomadic and then islamic warlords for a thousand years, it was needed for them to assert their political will. Virtuous people need to achieve political power to create a kingdom of heaven on earth

I'm not moved by your apologetics.
You've defined a Sam Harris arbitrary, temporal, and convenient religion rather than a Means-to-the-Truth.
This might work for you here & now, but it won't work in all times & all places & in all realities & all conditions.
It's not Universal.
It's slop.

>Tolkien taking the piss
Mostly this but more so after the fact by refusing to explain him any further.

In the story itself I don’t see him as any different than say the numenoreans or even the balrog. A character/concept that adds depth and history and intrigue to the world and reminds you how small the main cast is and how the conflict, despite eventually threatening everything, isnt directly on the minds of all beings as powerful as bombadil and as small as hobbits.

He went on to describe much of the history of middle earth in letters and the silmarillion but much of the details remain outside the pages of LOTR/The Hobbit

>Far from being a man of his time, Lovecraft's views were abhorrent even to his bigoted peers. A 1922 attempt to join an elite honor society within the KKK (The Glorious Lancers of the Sepulcher of the Church of the Ku Klux Klan), typically reserved for college men, was rebuffed on the basis of racial views evinced in a monograph he submitted for their consideration. In the document, he called for what we would now recognize as the genocide of Black Americans, most mixed raced people, Sephardic and Mizrahi Jews, and Catholics. This shocked even the 'elite' Klansmen, who held to a repressive and segregationist line, but were not comfortable with the mass slaughter or even forced repatriation of minority groups.

Why haven't you read Lovecraft?
If you won't read, I will read it to you.

/ourguys/ managed to find an AI-written "fan written" story and read it on the latest episode. Of course, when people pointed that out (it's extremely obvious), they started banning and deleting posts like crazy, because the "writer" is some kind of a Discord guy they are all friends with, meanwhile all their zoomer fans are defending him because he's supposedly a new writer.

I know I can't really expect an idiot who only read two books (Blood Meridian and the Bible) in his life, and the living incarnation of Krumm, to pay any actual attention to what they read, so I started wondering how the hell could this have gotten past all the crew they are presumably paying to sift through the stories for them. I went to their shitty story forum, and it turns out that at least 50% of the "stories" posted are AI slop.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xHFncMxVX-8

The situation is dire, /lit/. I wish I didn't know about any of this. But I do, and now I'm sharing it with you so you can be annoyed too.

This story is very clearly and blatantly written (or at least assisted) by AI. There's just too many signs. On top of that, this author wrote another story on r/Creepcast that was just like this, contant emdashes, repetitive AI style phrasing. Someone in the comments pointed this out, and so when the "author" reposted it to the new subreddit, they removed the emdashes and slightly altered the phrasing. Come on man.

Hello.

I'm the guy who had a few Guénon related servers sometime around 2021 and 2022, period in which I was also making a lot of Guénon threads on /lit/.

Does anyone from that period still remember me from /lit/ or from my server? It would be nice if we could get in touch again. My current discord username is luke041654.

Anyways, this can be another Guénon thread I guess so post something about his work. :)

Aside from him, who do you think augments or positively expands on his work on metaphysics?
>>
>>24982766
Guenon was a racist twat with nothing of substance to say. Everything he believed can be wrapped up in "non-westerners are smarter and more ancient and Europeans need the wisdom of Arabs but mostly Indians to teach them about everything". He didn't actually discuss any topic in depth, he just brought up topics to say he covered them. In between he lets racist, white hating drivel stain his texts. He's only famous for being a contrarian and hating white people before it was cool- but all of this was on account of his physiognomy. He never fit in with Europeans and so he let that damage his opinions and worldview, preventing him from ever achieving philosophical greatness.

How has Buddhism helped you?

Both got very moral and positive detachment teachings and inner/outer peace
>Problem: people are toxic and form a tradition around these figures
>Both approach the same clinging issues of love from radically different angles
>One demands you need to be a forgiving follower or you will suffer more
>One doesn't demand you need to follow anything and you wont suffer

Buddha seems more leaning for me since you don't force control on your inner self and sin while Christianity teaches similiar stuff but inner control which probably lead to Conservative-American Christianity we see today or with Buddhism people who like negativity used it to have a spiritual oneupmanship or new age incorpation and toxic positivity
But the true meanings these people teach is a lot deeper and profound than spirituality and organized religion, it's freedom.
