which region of Westeros has the most loyal women?
>>
Who do you guys think will side with (r)Aegon in TWOW? Obviously we have the Golden Company who are very high tier soldiers in their own right. But in Westoros specifically;
>Aurane Waters
AKA the Lord of Waters. Basically universally acknowledged as one of Aegon VI's likely allies. Gets him an impressive fleet, and the Aurane's pirates under his command (could be useful against the ironborn)
He's also a bastard of Velaryon, who were Targ loyalists during the rebellion.
>Randyll Tarly
Another Targeryen loyalist. The show making him randomly completely loyal to Cersei was retarded, so I think it's fair to assume it's another of Aegon's plotlines that got assigned to her (similar to Dany and Connington's bells).
Also he hates women, so he'll obviously prefer Aegon to Dany (who'll come with foreign hordes as her main force)
I'm fairly sure his house is the one referred to as 'friends in the reach' by Peake (iirc)
>Mace 'the ace' Tyrell
Should the Tyrells ever get sick of propping up the biggest retard in Westeros AKA Cersei, Aegon is the obvious next choice. With Kevan dead, the Lannister cause is basically a headless chicken whether Cersei wins her trial or not. Marge's marriage to Tommen is really the only thing holding them together at this point. The battle of Iron could simply not happen, depending on if they make some arrangement.
>Storm's End
In a Winds preview chapter we learn that the fortress has been taken over. With it's reputation, it's likely that it wasn't besieged which would take ages. There's a theory that Aegon's forcess have Edric Storm with them, which could get some of the stormlands on their side.
>Dorne
Aegon is Elia's son. Doran's nephew. The alliance should be automatic. If the prince thinks the story of his miraculous survival is bullshit, he can always marry Arianne off to him. Incest be damned. Probably the safest bet of them all, considering Quentyn's fate.
>the Faith Militant
Cersei has been fucking her brother and all their offspring are bastards, which obviously goes against the faith of the seven. Should Cersei be rid of and Tommen the only one left standing (the implication of his bastardy being obvious), who will they turn to? Not Stannis who burns down statues of the seven. Aegon is the best bet. He's a follower of the seven.

Are there any I've missed? Knowing Varys, he'll probably have a few more at least. And once it rains, it'll pour, with many smaller houses declaring fealty.
>>
>>24102168
The Vale possibly. Mostly because we don't know that much about society there. But the few women we meet from there seem to be decent. Including the women from the mountain clans.

>Morally grey badass characters who can be perceived as the blackest villains or the greatest of men depending on which side you’re on
>One has a larger than life fantastical epic hero death escaping consequences for his actions and cementing his legacy
>one has a twisted grim humiliating death after his actions catch up to him ruining his legacy
Which is more kino? For me tywins is more realistic
>>
>>24102225
Seems more like an obvious gossip and spy than slut. She's using those huge tits to get information, not sex.
>>24102226
>the sex-drive,
It's not even the sex drive, it's just that Dornish culture openly encourages their people to have affairs. I think the mountain houses of Dorn aren't as big on philandering but still do practice having paramours like the rest of the region.
>>
>>24101846
Uh yes, little anon. Besides the long hiatuses, making all kind of excuses for Togashi and still waiting, the official story is not over and I doubt Togashi is going to finish the Kakin arc before he kicks the bucket like mangaka did before. So many plotlines will be left unresolved.

We will get The Winds of Winter.

Mace defiinitely won't be joining Aegon. It's been established he's a proud, blustering oaf who is obsessed with making his daughter a queen. He now controls the Iron Throne and the Small Council with Kevan dead. He's not giving that up for some pretender. He's going to take the fight to the Golden Company and probably get rekt because he's an idiot.

>Are there any I've missed?
The Brotherhood Without Banners and several Riverland houses will support Aegon if he promises to restore Edmure Tully and punish the Freys.
House Stokeworth (currently under Bronn's control)
House Rosby (has no Lord and Cersei didn't resolve the situation)
>>
>>24102221
>>24102318
Poor Stannis :(

Who will support him and fight for him to get him on the Iron Throne?
>>
Only 48 days til into the lost lands boys. Our wait is finally gonna pay off
>>
is Margaery a groomer?
>>
>>24102318
>It's been established he's a proud, blustering oaf who is obsessed with making his daughter a queen.
He could always try getting her hitched with Aegon, no? If the sparrows back him, that means Tommen will be basically universally seen as a bastard. I think the Tyrells know where the wind is blowing, they did the same thing when Renly was out of the equation. Once valuable vassals like the Tarlys start ditching them it's not like Mace is worth a damn in battle. I might be overrating how shrewd they are.
>>24102323
Stannis has the support of a bunch of nothern houses, and it remains to be seen how things will turn out with Jon and Rickon. But yeah, he's not a great spot long term, even if he's likely to win the battle of ice.
>>
The Golden Company has to be on the same level of military importance as one of the kingdoms, right? Robb went to war with 20k northmen at his side, and those were levies consisting primarily of peasants. In contrast, the GC are made up of professional soldiers who've been fighting for a living for generations. Obviously Robb makes up for it with his skills as a tactician, but the point stands. 10k might not seem like a lot when the Reach, the most populous kingdom, can field around a hundred thousand, but the difference in quality must be huge. Oh yeah, and they have elephants.
>>
>>24102404
Forgot to account for the fact that the GC doesn't come with any land that they can sustain themselves off of in my post. I guess that's a point against them. Still, I think they'll do well in future battles. It'll be interesting to see these exiles come home to their keeps after, in some cases, several generations in essos.
>>
>>24102395
>He could always try getting her hitched with Aegon, no?
No, he can't. Margaery has been married to three ((Baratheons)), has a broken maidenhead and is currently accused of having gangbangs and orgies with half the men in King's Landing. She's soiled goods and stuck with Tommen. They can't just throw him away and try marrying her off again.

Putting that aside, the storyline direction makes it more likely for Aegon to marry Arianne.
>>
>>24102415
Ironically Cersei managed to strengthen the Tyrell-Lannister alliance by getting Margaery accused of adultery, they're pretty much joined at the hip now and will go down togethere
>>
Many Reachmen will die in the upcoming book
>>
>>24102221
Dorne will be the only significant ally Aegon will have (aside from named characters).
The Tyrell will be broken and Mace might die, Randyll and all of High Garden are inbound to the shields and to deal with Euron.
Storm's end is empty and whoever is left of the Faith after Cersei is done with them might ally with Aegon but they are few in number.
>>
>>24102404
The Golden is the single strongest army in the entire world bar none. They are an army of westeros, only battle tested and extremely experienced to boot. And lets not forget the elephants lol

What the fuck is his problem?
>“Taking him? Where? He’s mine. You cannot have him.”
>Roose seemed amused by that. “All you have I gave you. You would do well to remember that, bastard. As for this … Reek … if you have not ruined him beyond redemption, he may yet be of some use to us. Get the keys and remove those chains from him, before you make me rue the day I raped your mother.”
>Reek saw the way Ramsay’s mouth twisted, the spittle glistening between his lips. He feared he might leap the table with his dagger in his hand. Instead he flushed red, turned his pale eyes from his father’s paler ones, and went to find the keys.

I think they get captured when they get left behind during the escape. Some of them get killed too as I recall.
I think the battle of Ice ends ups up being a stalemate when the majority of both armies gets swallowed by the lake when the ice breaks, forcing both sides to retreat and recuperate. Both sides will try to frame it as a victory however.
Ramsey writes the pink letter in a fury as said by anon. He does have Mance and the remaining spearwives, they have been thoroughly tortured, revealing the rest of the info that became known to Ramsey as presented in the letter.
Ramsey signs the latter as Lord of Winterfell, for this i see three options:
1.: It is out of pride and he sends the letter without Roose's knowledge so he can lie and make himself feel better by claiming the title
2.: He actually is the lord of Winterfell, given to him as his seat while Roose rules the North from the Dreadfort. It'd give Ramsey legitimacy.
3.: Maybe Roose also died in the Battle of Ice, making Ramsey inherit the North.

there does not seem to be a 1:1 equivalent to india

>The buildings, streets, and walls of Asshai are made out of black stone that is greasy to the touch and seems to drink the light, making the city appear to be a dark and gloomy place. Structures include bazaars, halls, hovels, palaces, and temples.[5]
>Asshai and its few people have an ominous reputation in other lands. Asshai'i are described as having a dark and solemn appearance.
>The Dothraki believe that Asshai'i are "spawn of shadows" and hold them in contempt and fear.[6]
>All foodstuff and freshwater is brought in by ship, as animals brought into the city soon die, and the waters of the Ash glisten black beneath the noonday sun and glimmer with green phosphorescence by night. The only fish that dwell in its water are blind and deformed, and only fools and shadowbinders dare eat their flesh.[5]

>Gogossos,[1][2][N 1] once known as Gorgai, is a ruined city on the Isle of Tears, the largest of the Basilisk Isles. It lies on the southern coast of the island, facing the continent of Sothoryos.[1]
>The Old Empire of Ghis founded the city under the name of Gorgai.[3] The Ghiscari held Gorgai for between two and four centuries until the Valyrian Freehold captured it during the Third Ghiscari War and renamed it Gogossos. The dragonlords used it as a penal colony for the worst criminals. New methods of torture were used and blood magic is said to have been practiced, including slave women being forced to mate with beasts to produce twisted, half-human offspring.[3]
>Gogossos grew powerful through slavery and sorcery during the Century of Blood, with some calling it the "Tenth Free City". Its slave markets became as notorious as those of the cities of Slaver's Bay. Seventy-seven years after the Doom of Valyria, however, the Red Death emerged from the slave pens of Gogossos and swept from the Isle of Tears and to the rest of the Basilisks. Nine of every ten men died from the plague.[3]

Volantis, or Asshai/Shadowlands. The former sort of reeks of India, but Asshai has mask covered people and it’s even shaped like India. Also ‘safffron strait’. These aren’t supposed to be perfect or accurate parallels. Even Yi-Ti appears to be a mix of southeast and east Asia.

he based it on Melniboné. They conquered the world then let their empire slowly crumble because they had everything and couldn't be fucked to care.
Valyrians having everything they need already in Valyria is likely the reason they didn't much care about the outside world apart from making a few colonies here and there. They already had all the luxuries they needed, so why gamble that comfort and invest in a colony? Very few would take the risk.
In the real world, China was like this for the majority of history. There was very little they actually needed to import, so they didn't branch out as much as you'd expect a thousands of year old empire would've, since there was very little incentive

Antillian Sigil: black kraken on gold with a red eye, combination of greyjoy sigil and eurons sigil
Lore and connection with iron islanders:
>The Antillians are the descendants of survivors of Atlantis [great empire of dawn] who travelled west after the Great Cataclysm in a mighty fleet of ships
[grey king and long night].
The Antillians worshiped the demon god Xotli the black kraken of Atlantis [drowned god/sea stone chair]who consumed the souls of many Antillians in ceremonies of mass ritual sacrifice. When the Atlanteans landed, they found a race of small brown, slant-eyed savages [first men or children of the forest] The Atlanteans easily conquered these natives and reduced them to the same state of slavery as the servants they had brought with them. During the millennia after the Cataclysm, the blood of the Atlanteans and the aboriginal Antillians mixed until these islands were inhabited by a single, mixed race.
George also further references Conan in his lore with the Cimmerians, zamorans and hyrkania

S1 was just okay. It felt more like something you were putting up with (massive whiplash at every 20-year ellipse, nonsensical scenes like Criston hate criming the homosexual knight or Daemon luring out the Triarchy, completely failing to set up important characters like Aegon or other non-KL players in the Dance). Some interesting scenes here and there, especially the Viserys portrayal but hardly justifying watching the show on their own.
That being said, S2 might be one of the worst seasons of televisions I’ve ever watched in my life.

He only wrote Fire and Blood in the hopes it would give HBO more material to adapt, you retard. He loves to be around the sets and writing rooms when the shows are coming together, would probably have been involved with GoT to the end if D&D hadn’t shut him out around season 5, and he’s probably going to be paying even closer attention to the Dunk and Egg show now that he felt HotD were flaunting his œuvre.

George will do anything to distract him from writing the books, and staying relevant enough to do interviews for Late Night shows by nudging HBO to produce more shows is one of those distractions.

Even if he isn’t (do you retards not know that he always lies), then I’m sure that Fire and Blood part 2 has taken precedence for him over Winds because he’s hoping to give HBO yet another potential television property in the form of the Blackfyre rebellion. He even admitted recently that he was working on both, after being adamant some years back that Winds was the only project he would be giving his attention to.

Don’t forget that he was also meeting with Maisie Williams recently for an unspecified project. Don’t forget that HBO has been hinting at a Robert’s Rebellion fearure film and there’s no way that George wouldn’t be involved. You sound poorly informed.

Half the thread was a /pol/ slapfight two days ago. We’ve already exhausted everything there is to say about the books years ago. Now we’re just left with David Lightbringer-tier autists who think the ending of the story hinges on whether the “Golden Empire of the Dawn” were lizards who contended with the Children of the Forest. At this point, the only thing left is speculation as to how George could possibly work on a book for FOURTEEN YEARS and still come short.

What? You don't think that Storms End is a nuclear power plant? Silly chud.
>>
>>24105244
I love Preston but I don’t believe most of his theories. To me, they’re just fun experiments of how much George’s story is dripping with detail that you can put them different things together and make a reasonable case that they are foreshadowing, or at the very least set-up that George may or may not decided to follow through on. The Riverlands of the Dragon, while not exactly up-to-scrutiny, was mindblowing to me the first I watched it because I’d never considered that George dropped enough hints about a potential Targaryen restorationist faction in the Riverlands and that the BWB was probably Aegon-aligned.
It really helped me see the richness of George’s story and so many plots I’m excited about because he opened my eyes to all sorts of set-up that George has done and pieces he has placed done (the Northern Conspiracy and Iron Born series are a masterpiece in that regard).

Love me some Preston schizo-babbling. Plus at this point, one of the best GRRM scholars.

>There’s definitely some extraterrestrial or eldritch nonsense at play in the world of asoiaf.

We know Planetos isn't Earth and we know humans, horses, turnips, etc. evolved on Earth, thus Planetos was colonized by Earthlings and that means ASOIAF is set in humanity's distant future, after we develop faster-than-light travel technology.

The Valyrians are genetically enhanced superhumans, kinda like Star Trek's Khan Noonien Singh and they enslaved normal humans and took them to Planetos but at some point after colonizing the planet, there was a civil war among the Valyrians so bad that it devastated the planet (possibly causing the weird seasons) and knocking humanity back into a stone age, where everybody forgot they were originally from Earth.

The remaining Valyrians (with whatever technology they still had) survived on the Valyrian Peninsula and eventually used genetic technology to create dragons and tried to reconquer Planetos but were defeated by the Faceless Men, who stole some tech from them and developed magical "nukes" (that they first tested on Hardhome).

Also, the Red Comet is a hollowed out asteroid that was the Valyrian's spaceship and is now on a long period orbit around the Planetos system while the "falling star" was an escape pod with some tech, that House Dayne (themselves rebel Valyrians) used to create the magical/tech sword Dawn.

People are overly prone to thinking the show ending is somehow George's canon because he gave some notes to D&D that they were free to ignore. Completely ignoring his writing process, brushing things the show chose not to adapt away as red herrings, which are retarded enough. But somehow these same geniuses forget the bells thing, which is the real most obvious thing taken from the books, just repurposed for a character it does not suit. The rAegon/JonCon plotline is definitely going to be important, you people are just contrarians. You might as well insist that Arya will kill the 'Night King'. Why does Tyrion cope that “wah wah it was true love, she was the only one that liked me for my personality and my appearance”.
When in reality, there’s a high likelihood that, while Tysha appreciated Tyrion’s wit and vivaciousness, him being a wealthy Lannister made him a hell of a catch for her.

What difference is there is there between “she pretended to like me because my brother gave her some money” vs. “she liked me in part because I was a wealthy Lannister who could give her a good life”. I’m not even blaming Tysha in the slightest. She was a common peasant girl - obviously she’d be drawn to Tyrion, especially since he seemed lovestruck by her and wasn’t just going to discard her as a mistress.

You're confusing whiplash with a full on psychotic breakdown lol and even that wouldn't suffice to justify such a bizarre 180 six books into the story
>>
>>24106673
>Indeed, anyone advocating for Dany going crazy just sounds like they haven't read the books.
"Crazy" isn't the right word but it's increasingly forshadowed Daenerys and her dragons will bring death and destruction to Westeros and won't be viewed positively.
>>
>>24107053
Yeah, but her turning KL to ash won't happen. The bells thing was clearly taken from JonCon's future arc.
She'll get miffed about Aegon taking her place as the restored Targeryen monarch, but how would going ape shit help? Let alone be justifiable under her worldview.
>>
Will be funny if Ser Robert bashes in Young Griff's head, just like he did to the real Aegon
>>
>>24107084
If anything KL is getting destroyed by Cersei's caches of wildfire and then she's going to say that Dany's dragons did it.
>>
>>24107053
>forshadowed
It wasn't but your welcomed to prove me wrong with a few excerpts from the books
>death and destruction
...to a country in civil war?
>dragons won't be viewed positively
unless you wanna talk Valyria, Westeros is LITERALLY the only in the world were they would be viewed positively
>>
>>24107129
>It wasn't but your welcomed to prove me wrong with a few excerpts from the books
It's what her arc in ADWD is about. She gives up on trying to bring peace and embraces her desire to be a conqueror. In future books Daenerys will be less willing to compromise with others and simply use her dragons to get what she wants. GRRM has compared using dragons as an allegory to nuclear warfare. If you don't see the direction her story is going in, that's on you.
>>
>>24106985
Magic is arbitrarily powerful. Magic is not practically powerful.
>>
>>24106061

I reckon Varys would be pretty pissed If Aegon wound up falling for Cersei instead and got her Rhaegar like she always wanted in the end but it would be a funny and interesting result.

My own crackpot is that the Frays are going to betray the Boltons once Ramsey is defeated in battle and Roose is desperately clinging onto power. They are waiting for Walda's kid to be born before their next move.
>>
>>24107251

Should've added they'll gain temporary control of the north but it will only be for a short while before being crushed by a coalition of northern houses and Stannis

>“How could you possibly know that?” her sister asked, with a note of scorn in her voice. “One of your little dreams?”

>"Sit with me, child." Cressen beckoned her closer. "This is early to come calling, scarce past dawn. You should be snug in your bed."

Explain to me how does Dany going back to her roots and using her dragons the way the Seven intended, translates to her going insane over how people will see her.
I'll wait.
>>
>>24107264
>Stannis is going to burn shireen and yet this board denies it up and down.
Most people have gotten over it and don’t deny it. They just want it to be less dumb and contrived than in the show, where Stannis just goes “gee I’m a little cold, I should burn my daughter”.
There’s high potential for tragedy kino if Stannis only does so because he believes he needs to be step up as Azor Ahai, only to realize he’s been used and lied to by Melisandre when nothing happens.
>>
>>24107282

Signs of them being touched / molested manifesting in dreams. We know who touched Shireen (Pathface) but who touched Teora? Could it be that Arianne is really that debauched?

Indeed. Spreading death and destruction across Westeros is the prerogative of the Westerosi nobility, not some upstart wannabe Dothraki slut.

I already said I don't think Daenerys will go crazy, but Westeros might see her differently considering her legacy as Aerys' daughter and her dragons cooking people alive

>Dany knew her face was flushed, but in the darkness Irri surely could not tell. Wordless, the handmaid put a hand on her breast, then bent to take a nipple in her mouth. Her other hand drifted down across the soft curve of belly, through the mound of fine silvery-gold hair, and went to work between Dany's thighs. It was no more than a few moments until her legs twisted and her breasts heaved and her whole body shuddered. She screamed then. Or perhaps that was Drogon. Irri never said a thing, only curled back up and went back to sleep the instant the thing was done. The next day, it all seemed a dream.

>Cersei will try to marry him,

lol, no. Cersei is old and busted while fAegon is like 16/17 years old and won't want an old hag, especially not one who is a member of the family that killed "his" family.

It'll look like he will marry Arianne Martell but when Daenerys arrives, he'll change his mind, (under the influence of Varys and Jon Connington) thinking he can brow-beat her into handing over a dragon.
>>
>>24106484
>I don't like Dunk and Egg

Really? IMO it's GRRM's best work, though it's a shame HBO will also fuck that up.

>what if we had a region that was like Spain, where the people eat spicy food and the women are brown sluts
Why does GRRM keep wasting so many pages on the the Martells, they're really not an interesting family and are just muh Elia

>>
>>24107387
The surrounding text blatantly explains it. Danny is still grieving for Drogo and had been suppressing her sexual urges because of it. Jorah had brought the grief and lust back to the surface after stealing a kiss from her. iirc this is the first time she's been horny in months, her handmaid helped her out because that's one of the jobs she was trained for. I would say this is a pretty decent depiction of regaining sexual urges after a traumatic event. Danny's sexuality is extremely important to her story, people's lives actually depend on her wanting to fuck, as is typically the case for monarchs and their courts and countries.

She says why on the same page lol.
Dude just took the kiss out of no where, she had no idea he was attracted to her. Even the most desperate virgin guys will take issue with a woman suddenly kissing them without even implied consent. Especially if they're so mentally fucked that sex is not even physically or mentally registering for them. Imagine if your mom died and the not so hot neighbor girl thought it would be a great time to try to blow you in the kitchen after she came over to borrow a cup of sugar or some shit.
Again he never got consent to do it, Jorah is basically a peasant to her (yes we know he's technically a lord), he's shooting way above his station going for a Targaryen queen with the only three dragons in existence, she's practically a god.
She's not attracted to him at all. She even tries to force the thought of being with him but it's a hard no. Jorah makes her pussy dry up like sand paper.

she CANONICALLY thinks about him and is excited by his kiss
>>
Sam found himself kissing her back. I said the words, he thought, but her hands were tugging at his blacks, pulling at the laces of his breeches. He broke off the kiss long enough to say, "We can't," but Gilly said, "We can," and covered his mouth with her own again. The Cinnamon Wind was spinning all around them and he could taste the rum on Gilly's tongue and the next thing her breasts were bare and he was touching them. I said the words, Sam thought again, but one of her nipples found its way between his lips. It was pink and hard and when he sucked on it her milk filled his mouth, mingling with the taste of rum, and he had never tasted anything so fine and sweet and good. If I do this I am no better than Dareon, Sam thought, but it felt too good to stop. And suddenly his cock was out, jutting upward from his breeches like a fat pink mast. It looked so silly standing there that he might have laughed, but Gilly pushed him back onto her pallet, hiked her skirts up around her thighs, and lowered herself onto him with a little whimpery sound. That was even better than her nipples. She's so wet, he thought, gasping. I never knew a woman could get so wet down there. "I am your wife now," she whispered, sliding up and down on him. And Sam groaned and thought, No, no, you can't be, I said the words, I said the words, but the only word he said was, "Yes."

So you believe Daenerys is gonna cross the entirety of Essos having burned Volantis and god knows what else, killing however many people along the way only to find herself in Westeros, where she is going to do the same? Presumably because someone, in Westeros of all places, is either not bending the knee or outright trying to fight the flying lizards? And that of course will somehow distress this same Daenerys.
Your reasoning for this being a dream Shireen had and an unreleased chapter of Winds? Did i get everything right?

That sounds like canon to me, i fucking kneel
