Gauron's first appearance in W and Z3.1 can be rough if you dont expect it. Not many pilots have Daunt/Exhaust if at all and in W's cause, newer players can eat shit given the auto cast Zeal aspect of it.
The later appearances arent that bad unless you spawn him in on EP unprepared since you have more than enough resources at that point.

Heard Voltron Force took concepts from Albegas back when the latter was initially planned to be the third Voltron. I think among the scrapped concepts were the dub names for the pilots, who were ported into Force as replacement pilots Daniel, Vince, and Larmina. CCA was a culmination of tomino's gundam at the time, so the main robot has to reflect that. GSF is a heavy nostalgiabait work, so they kept many things as is. That, or bandai just dont see a reason to prioritize r&d on GSF because they obviously didn't expect this much success.

For a game that's been translated for about 10 years, its baffling that people still parrot misinformation. The SEED Gundams were special in J because the high end machinery were all owned by private contractors (Mazinger, Aestivalis, Combattler, etc) or were alien in origin and so no one at the time could reasonably mass produce them.
That's why the UEFA was putting in so much effort to develop the Gundams and Sol Tekkamen so they'd have MP machines of their own. And before you cite G Gundam like an idiot, the Gundam Fights were rewritten to be an underground project and you'd still have the problem of requiring specialist martial arts training from a young age vs just throwing some random chucklefuck in a simulator for months and shipping him out.
That's why the Archangel was hesitant to rely on our help. Not because Kira was the only one who could do anything, but because they had no guarantee that as private contractors that we wouldnt just ditch them when our bosses felt it was appropriate.

Remember that they're busy trying to defend two ships from an entire army with just a handful of dudes. Sure Nadesico is strong but nothing is preventing Nicol from using his cloaking, sneaking up on Archangel/Nadesico's bridge and firing some physical rounds through the shield.

Supporters were more balanced in T since their SP didnt regen.
The biggest elephant in the room concerning EP spirits is the existence of stuff like Trust and Foresee. If you were restricted to just what the unit itself had, then spamming Persist/Flash would have a major downside of running yourself out of juice for a next turn. After all, this isnt Neo/OE where comparable spells had a range limit so you couldnt spam them so freely on EP. That's the best you can do without removing it outright.
I personally prefer skill slot limits in games where it went up to 6/8 skills but I doubt that's coming back.
If they're going to touch damage spirits then Valor is the one in need of a nerf more than Soul which got hit twice over the course of the series.

The only thing that makes it not as abusable in T is that T still has skill points, and even then, T actually made an effort to not make every single skill point "Finish the stage in X turns". While this was one of the very few things I liked about the game, it was often pretty viable to just spam End Turn to build SP if you needed it for the skill point

But yeah, otherwise I agree, ExC needs to go, global buffs need to go, EP spirits are a cool option that are only broken because of specifically Foresee; even Trust is probably fine since it takes multiple casts to heal up to full and most enemy attacks are probably gonna do more than half if they hit.

Damage spirits I think should be buffed and I don't think they need to touch the damage boosters. I would like stages to move at a faster pace and force more aggression, so I want defense nerfed and offense buffed, both for the player and for enemies

SR points and turn limits actually tend to slow down the pace of stages even if they encourage aggressive play. Low turn count usually means stages take longer to complete in real time because every action has more value and you have to be more careful in considering your moves. It's much faster in real time to just spam end turn and counter kill everything on enemy phase since the AI will always make decisions faster than you
So I'd rather see SRW encourage offense by making everything much deadlier than imposing artificial challenges and restrictions. I want quick stages where the AI steamrolls you if you don't do the same to them first. I don't want to be worried about failing the optional challenge, I want to be worried about the failing the actual stage.

Well that's because ever since they introduced the Tag Tension/Extra Count system, the turn requirement to 100% clear almost every stage is 1 if you genuinely play aggressively. There are something like three stages in Jigoku-hen that you can't have a single pair clear in a single turn by themselves, and in 30 an LTC clear of a stage is similarly a question of how many times you're willing to cast Resolve, cast Continuous Action, and fire the Buster Launcher.

Several FE games have maps that are locked out for playing too slow. FE4 to FE7 have ranking systems that give you better ranks for playing fast. FE9/10 also reward you with more BEXP for playing faster. For people that play IS adjacent properties, AW as a series also gives you a better score for playing better with characters being locked out unless you have a score average of A/S.

SRW used to encourage playing faster with secrets/endings/SR points/better skill parts but Banpresto took that out. Not many games do stuff like Scirocco and his cronies spawning on your ass on EP, double turning and wiping your best unit out if you take too long anymore. Its not like one turning maps in modern SRW is difficult due to tag tension or its derivatives.

I wish SRW let us use some obscure units like G-Gen rather than only the main robots of each series.

Watching the 2007 remake of Raideen now, episode 5 has this moment where Raideen is caught in the air by a monster and the SDF unloads a bunch of missiles from their bots. Each one of these has 128 missiles judging by their tubes. Multiply that by 3 and Raideen tanks 384 missiles in the span of a few seconds. Mazinkaiser can use this mother fuxker like a shield (if Raideen in this series wasn't 70 meters). It's also nice to see a late 00s mecha title use monsters of the week.
