Requirements are TC and ABS because I dont want to die winter commuting.

I looked around and the Ducati 899/959/V2 panigale looks close. Did you know you can programme cruise control onto the electric start button on a panigale with your laptop

Radial calipers means the caliper is mounted with the bolts parallel to the wheels.
Axial calipers are mounted with the bolts parallel to the axle.
Buell uses axial calipers but the disc is mounted to the outer rim of the wheel instead of on the centre hub

the wikipedia page for some of MotoGP's older (specifically 1968) seasons claims that basically virtually every manufacturer entered for at least a race or two including Monark, Jawa, CZ, BMW, Triumph, Velocette and BSA among others.
but i can't find photos of hardly any of the bikes they used then if its even accurate.
i think it may have been conflating the Sidecar division with the regular 500ccs in the case of BMW.
that many different different bikes at the same time in one crossover is wild though.

Hey /dbt/, I just bought my first motorcycle. It's a Honda XL400V TRANSALP from the early 90s. I will be using it for riding around the city and the occasional weekend trip. I'm pretty stoked about it and hope to make some more riding friends in the future. I will eventually sell it at a loss or trade it in when I am ready to upgrade to a bigger engine. Does anyone know how to meet other people to ride with?

My license is set to 400cc limit until I upgrade it. It's fine either way as I haven't hit the road in a minute so would be good to do some adventuring at a slower pace. I also happened to find a cool biker meet spot nearby, so hope to meet those guys when my bike arrives.
Do you have any recommendations or know how I can start attaching racks, lights, USB ports to the bike, is it easy to do like any other bike? Also how have you found the bike when riding in urban areas? I might have some more questions about it, are you on an /o/ discord or something?

The bike can do everything you want. If you struggle with something its a skill issue. It may not be as comfortable to drive as a modern bike but dont worry, its capable.

The clutch spring on the xl600v is pretty strong, if you have issues with clutching in urban areas, lube your cable or replace it. The 5-Speed gearbox is okay - you can do plenty in 1st gear, 50kph in 3rd is okay, maybe avoid 4th in town, especially on the 400.

I mounted a usb charger to the handlebar and added the engine guards and put auxiliary lights on them.

For the wiring you have to remove the seat and tank and ideally funnel them trough a rubber hose between frame and the airbox. Be careful not to break the plastic attachment points of the fairing when you lift out the tank. I sugfest you get the Haynes Manual somewhere online - if that applies to the 400v as well.
My Givi Trekker Lights were not a good fit with the length of the respective wires. I could only mount the relais switch in an awkward position in front of the fork, but wasnt happy with how it pulled the connectors when cornering. So I cut/extended the wires to custom length and mounted the relais switch next to the battery. Getting aftermarket lights - your mileage may vary.

Definetly not a bad thing to dump some power into when its hot. On the 600v, the regulator tends to overheat since the alternator is a bit too strong and the regulator is located next to the hot exhaust.

When it comes to racks - mine came with a Givi rack, that required to lift the rear indicators a couple of cm. Maybe get some soft bags for starters?

I am not on any discord but lurk here quite a bit. Where are you based?
>>
>want to go on longer trips on my dual sport and maybe motocamp
>seat is extremely uncomfortable and I can only last about 2 hours on it
>”comfort” seat is 500 fucking dollars

Should I try and convert my DRZ400 (sm) to an S and invest in a bigger tank and a comfort seat (probably $2k total) or just buy a 650 or something?
>>
>>28035385
you could remove the seat cover, most of the time it's just clipped, then cut out the foam of the seat and add gel instead and then to top it off just throw some sheep wool over it when you've reassembled it.

I'm trying to stay strong bros but it's hard.
I can do all the mechanical shit but I'm trying my hand at wiring and it's fairies. I'm sitting here trying to put a monolithic brake light on my Sportster and they have a double 3 cable for the rear brake lights that I'm trying to make a 5 cable connection work for. Running lights work, turn signals work, but when I brake both turn signals turn on instead of the brake light getting brighter

Never
Here's the thing I've found out: Even if price of every single luxury item crashes because people are more worried about food than TV or video games, motorcycles are never crashing again. Ever.

People now recognize Motorcycles as a valid form of transportation for poorfags just like they do in the third world, and Dual Sports/Adventure bikes are the ultimate two-wheeled SUVs for poorfags who want to stack bags or put their home office on their bike when they go out.

If anything, the baggie market will crash before the T7 crashes.

Everything but the main frame, the gas tank, the bodywork+brackets, and the suspension internals is recycled from either the MT09 or the R1 and R6. I've heard one claim the swingarm is actually different but if it is it's the same castings with some internal bracing modified.

>>28034013
The problem is really less that it's ugly but that it's like that because the engine/gearbox geometry is totally archaic and uncompact for a sport bike. I don't know why they need to have high frame members without the engine pushing them up there. That they didn't extend the fairings a few inches to cover it is pretty ridiculous though.

>>28035756

It's really nice
>>
Just rode the R7 and it felt just like my R3 but with enough power for the freeway, really fucking boring. Sport seating was nice though and the clutch was really really light

I'd recommend either getting a smaller and more flickable sumo, or getting a Multistrada. This is kind of a weird in-between.
>>
>>28036281
You don't even need an ADV for it in the US. There are National Forest campgrounds you can just ride or drive right in to on street tires.

EV economics and performance are driven by available battery tech. They might be good at 4x the J/kg density, 4x the J/m^3 density, and half the $/kg.

Are bike lanes there designed for motorcyclists?
If you did the same here in swamp germany I'd call you a faggot.

I'm not a fan of CBT so I decided against buying this bike, this was the only downside it had that I'm not willing to tolerate.

I was thinking of putting all aftermarket plastics on so I could keep the originals in mint. Not sure if that's a good idea or just a huge headache.
What should I put on? A true enduro fender?

Should I get a
88 Honda Hawk RC31
95 Honda Nighthawk 750
86/96 VFR interceptor
99 Magna crusier

First bike, I rode 250cc 2 strokes a lot but now getting into street. I'm 25 and respectful of the machine. I wanna be more social so street bikes it is. Which of these would be good for someone like me?

I really like V4 / I4 engines.
