It's so true
My gf and I have been playing Diablo 4 and it's fun, but it's not the same.
Peak gaming for me was halo 2 lan party with 4 TVs and xboxs and we would run into the other room to shoot the guys with airsoft to throw them off on ctf. The relic map pack was so fun.
91 here and feeling older every day. It's hard to feel the same sense of gratitude from gaming.

>>28066490
You can only put down so much power on a tire that's not flat like a car tire, you can very easily overwhelm the tire or not overwhelm the tire and flip the bike over.
It's why every manufacturer is moving to ADVs, why bother investing money to squeeze hundreths of second per lap when you can just put a 21inch front wheel on a street-ish bike chassi, give it some comfy ergos and you're golden.
There's a reason why the R1200-1250 or what CC it is now GS is a best seller.

Mr Honda was based, but he would spit on the state of the Japanese auto industry in general right now. Not just the state of Honda.

How do you let your industry go to shit all because you thought it was a good idea to deal with chink proxies to save maybe the equivalent of a few pennies when money was worth nothing? I ask this being a burger and knowing our auto and bike industry fell for the exact same scam in the 70's and 80's but with Japan. You would think being the inventors of this tactic, they wouldn't fall for it themselves.

Chink bikes are fine except Chink companies fuck you without a second thought once its in your hands.

>WYDM?
If you ever have to replace a single part on a crated chink bike, you're looking at either 3D printing it, or finding a wholesale replacement for the component that part goes in. Finding parts for most Chink brands is impossible, they purposefully keep their parts scarce on the market so you have to buy a new one if something breaks.

THAT SAID there are good Chink brands out there that are trying to run themselves like an old-fashioned Japanese brand. Lifan is one of them. X-Pro has its moments if you work with Venom Motorsports. Really, it's a crap shoot depending on which cruiser you're getting.

You can get good motorcycles from them if you get the ones that more than five people have bought. If you buy the DINGDONGCHANGPAO then of course you're going to get fucked. If you buy a Hawk 250, give it a once-over to put loctite on everything and inspect all of the bearings, the axel, the triple tree and make sure it has fork oil and a few regular oil changes before 600 miles, then you can barely go wrong.

Have you looked at the used market lately? old Japanese dual sports go for the MSRP that they originally had back in the day, now.

I say that and I agree that it's not worth it if you have hte money and should just buy a (new-used) Japanese bike. But to say there's no reason for it is just silly. The Hawk 250 basically an old Honda rebadged and is built to the same specs.

you can still buy a running rideable ujm or 80's jap shitbike for less than $2k. Dual sports are popular now so more expensive. Where are you getting this "built to same specs" "basically rebadged honda" shit from? again, chinese manufacturers get caught lying about their products so often (literally look anywhere they're sold for proof of this) that it has earned them that reputation. maybe if a Holosun kind of company arises and slowly carves a name for themselves from the bottom up

brehs i think im too weak to ride a motorcycle
i tried taking it off the center stand so i had to rock it forward, but then it tipped to my right (my weaker side since i had my left foot trying to kickstand it)
I tried to save it but it was just too heavy
I managed to get it back up, only because it was laying on a small block i used to rest my tools on, otherwise i dont think i couldve picked up on my own

luckily no damage from what im aware

It's just obvious, the CP3 doesn't rev high enough to make equal horsepower to a 6hundo i4. For street use an R9 will feel faster because it's got moar torks and will get up to ~120mph faster, but on track it absolutely will not keep up with a proper 4cyl.

>Where are you getting this "built to same specs" "basically rebadged honda" shit from?
I've bought and built one, I've read the manufacturers specs, I get my information from something that isn't reading Harley Davidson pamphlets on the internet.

The Hawk 250, for instance, is based on an out-of-production Honda that was made in the 80's. It has the same swingarm, it has the same subframe, it has the same engine, the only changes have been improvements, and no one wants to discuss the actual specs of the thing. They just say "China bad" and that's the end of the story.

Sure, China IS bad, let's not be wrong about this, but the engineering is sound because it was made by a Japanese company. For 1,800 if you want a dual sport shitbike, it's as cheap as you're going to find unless this mythical person selling 80's Japanese shit bikes (you haven't seen the used market recently, I can tell) for 1.6K comes up in your neighborhood.

Now, you can upgrade to better models of this, and guess what? Those are Honda knockoffs, too. The Hawk 250X is the same engine, same frame, inverted forks, counterbalanced. The Lifan is the same engine, but liquid cooled and counterbalanced as well with said improvements like inverted forks and better rear suspension and tires in a size found on this side of the planet.

What I'm saying is that it's dumb to just discount it because it's from China. You probably drive in a car that's 80% chinese parts and you think nothing of it.

The more you move your bike around the more comfortable you will get with moving it. Strength doesn't have much to do with it.
My jacked friend tried moving my bike and he really struggled even though he is much stronger than me.
Just getting a feel for the bikes weight and balance and knowing how to manage it is key.
It all comes with time and experience.

Considering going from s1000r to something like a R1250RS. The idea of more comfyness on long trips, and shaft drive, while still being fairly sporty on twisty roads, is appealing. Is it still a fun bike you'd want to take out on local fun roads for a couple of hours?

I finally did it, I rode my bike on the main road today. I wasn't sure if I wanted to, I had a great time last weekend on the backroads and I figured I would get started with that. Then I went to cross a main road to get to another backstreet I like and another biker passed and he gave this big wave as if to say "come on lets go" but in the non boss of this gym kinda way. I did a bit more then finally said fuck it, I'll hit the main road and did a huge circuit around and then back to my house, about 10 miles.
I don't understand this feeling I feel. It's like, reverse depression. What is it?
>>
>>28067384
Yes, it's super fun in the twisties unless you're expecting MotoGP lean angles. The suspension never gives me problems and the ABS will let the rear walk a little in corners. And of course you have all the torque/power you need for holding a line.

I haven't rode my drz in two days and tonight I went to turn the fuel on (I have a manual petcock no vacuum) and it was like the entire carb was pissing fuel. a good amount from what seemed like the throttle position sensor area but maybe elsewhere too. what could that be? I pulled the choke out to position one, normal start up and bike ran fine then I noticed fuel all over the ground.
I turned the fuel off and it stopped, on again and it starts again. Petcock confirmed not leaking.

I was able to find it on amazon. But I'm not thrilled about leaving a lose screw in my bike.

They can btw they have access to the system the same as your lever. No, I didn't flip I kept it straight somehow but I took a chunk out of my inner cheek and was spitting blood for about 45 minutes. I have a picture of the blood in the tub but I'm not gonna make this a gore thread. Went to the dealer who sold it to me and the floor rep manager got in my face after I asked him about options and called me an idiot because he assumed I wanted to return it. Nearly beat his old ass on the floor, GM ended up calling me and apologizing for the wild encounter. I can't stand tough boy boomers acting like they're still 20 years old. It's been a wild fucking journey of money dropping with this absolute tub of shit.

how do i get over the fear of riding bros
i bought a bike a week ago and have been too scared of dropping it and hurting myself/the bike

stationary drops are nothing, they are made to take those kinds of spills. as far as hurting yourself, just chill and ride good.
>>
>>28067498
>how do i get over the fear of riding bros
by riding. That's how I was too at first.
>>

How new is the bike?
If it's paid off just do a 0 mile and hour drop. Just drop it, it's like putting a scratch in a new tool. Just do it.

It's just a bike, who cares?

My T7 has less than 500 miles on it and it's been dropped at least three times so far.

its used so paid off, the bike is just in really good condition and idk if i'll be able to pick it up on my own if its dropped, or what if it leaks gas suddenly

Okay, I decided: tomorrow morning I will finally put my bike on the marketplace.
And I will buy something built in the last decade.
But looking at the listed bikes I get sad.
On one hand, I already experienced the (mostly) trouble-free life with an ancient used honda, so I see no real reason to avoid used bikes, and I can get a nice bike for under 5k.
On the other hand, I want a brand new bike, just because I want a brand new bike.
In either case I will regret it. My-bike-isn't-new regret, or I-could've-saved-lots-of-money regret.

It's my first bike so I don't really have a lot to compare it to, but I love it. Easy to ride. Goes anywhere I want it to, my lack of skill is definitely the limiting factor there. I'm sure there are better offroad bikes, but the Rally is pretty comfy on the road with the windscreen and pretty easy to ride offroad being like 100+lbs lighter than a mid-sized adventure bike.

My bike is 2000 miles away from the valve check. How do I know if it needs be adjusted without giving a mechanic $500 to bust open my bike for the good part of the day just to even see if they needed to be adjusted in the first place?
>>
>>28067622
If you're checking, you might as well do the job yourself.
>>
>>28067622
>How do I know if it needs be adjusted without giving a mechanic $500
remove valve cover, poke around with a feeler gauge. i gotta warn you though, most valve covers are held down by up to 6x 6mm bolts so id advise you send it to a real man to have it looked at.

Why is that in the year of our lord 2024, do bikes still not have hydraulic lifters? Is it to keep the dealerships afloat with maintenance work?
>>
>>28067636
>Is it to keep the dealerships afloat with maintenance work?
going to hydro lifters means its gonna be one of those "low end torque" bikes. if you really want one i think harleys are hydro lifters.

hey /dbt/ anyone good at problem solving here?
I noticed there's a wet liquid inside the red area on the engine fins
at first I thought it was coming from the headgasket in yellow, but thats bone dry

I tried smelling it, but it didnt smell like fuel to me, but could it still be fuel from above the gas tank??
My other hypothesis is the bolt with the purple quesiton mark, but that looks fine to me, could it be?

Il see them the next time dont worry
I dont blame anyone but the gas station jannies not being closer to hemlock valley

Maybe ill have a camper trugg/van by next time and be able to make home base outpost
I am the gas station now(then, when it happens)

You need more sodium when youre sweating and active
Daily values are also propagandized shitshows, if youre not a 135lbs twink or running a keto cut for a bodybuilding competition, you need way more than 2000 poverty cals bro

Yeah but it's also the wrong kind of shiny. Copenhagen-spit-brown vehicles never have a good history, it's just a fact. Copenhagen is the kind of personality trait that you admire when you're going to hire somebody to do a job, but you want nothing to do with their past projects.

I heard a little bit about that track, it's kind of a new thing? Apparently it's turning into a really cool spot. I'm not a track guy, more like a "going fast and straight is a skill" type of dogshit rider, but yeah I'll cruise with anybody anywhere. Only a tough guy online, I'll totally make out with you in person.

Paging Hotwang and tumblesneed.
