Flights in the Carribean had to be diverted and moved into holding patterns to avoid suborbital reentry debris, basically implying that lives were significantly put at risk. FAA will demand a mishap and the footage will give a major PR blackeye to SpaceX. Plus this was a new ship design with a massive amount of changes. For it to fail so catastrophically so early in the flight, coupled with what appears to be flames in the flap area and pieces of the ship tearing away during ascent, implies some massive QA failures. Seems like Elon gallavanting into the White House has led to SpaceX not having an iron fist ruler involved. The last time this happened at SpaceX, you had the Starlink project taking too long and burning too much money. I would expect Elon to shift back over to SpaceX and do a hard review of things, potentially firing people, etc.This was a catastrophic failure and the reentry cloud entered well outside the hazard zone, with videos from civilians worrying about their safety. If it was just over the ocean, it wouldn't be as big an issue. But because you had civilians directly in path of AND plane diversions, this investigation will take much longer. Only way Starship retruns to flight in under 3 months is if Trump signs an Executive Order that gives SpaceX immunity to any legal liability for their flights.
