Well, killing them isn't necessary either, is it?
I never quite understood this "don't make them suffer" argument. You're okay to breed them just to be slaughtered, but somehow expect them to live a happy and fulfilling life beforehand? Makes no sense.
It's a bit like the vegetarian/vegan paradox: You become a vegetarian if you primarily care about animals, but you become a vegan if you primarily care about virtue signalling.

So, it happened AGAIN. We can blame VAR, we can blame injuries, we can praise Wolves efforts (the historically worst team in Premier League history), but the truth is it's simply not enough. Tactics, determination you name it, it all stinks.

Don't get me wrong, I still have full faith in Amorim and the lads, but MASSIVE reinforcements are desperately needed in the winter. Otherwise I'm not very optimistic about the second half of the season. Not playing like this. What do you think, /mug/? #AMORIN or #AMOROUT?

As usal, Brent is saying until the Glazers and Ineos are gone, the debt is completely cleared, the players are all kicked out and a new manager is given at least £1bn and time... It'd still take three years after that to see anything positive.

He has also drunk the 'we sign players who are good and they turn to shit, we sell players who are shit and they turn good'. cool aid.

Michael Jordan without the marketing.

Rabat – FIFA President Gianni Infantino has confirmed that a major change to the offside rule is under serious review ahead of the 2026 World Cup.

Originally suggested by Arsene Wenger, the proposal would redefine offside in a way that favors attackers. Under current regulations, even a toe or shoulder beyond the line can trigger an offside call. By contrast, the new rule stipulates that a player would only be offside if their entire body is ahead of the last defender.

This change could have a big impact on how football is played. It would give attackers more freedom to time their runs and stay closer to the goal without being penalized.

Defenders would need to adjust their positioning and timing, while goalkeepers might face more one-on-one situations. The result could be more goals, faster transitions, and fewer interruptions due to marginal offside decisions.

Infantino spoke at the World Sports Summit in Dubai, where he also mentioned other innovations being tested in 2025 tournaments.

These include a “green card” system allowing teams to request VAR reviews, referee body cameras for transparency, and an eight-second rule for goalkeepers to release the ball faster. All these measures aim to make the game quicker, fairer, and more exciting.

FIFA is collecting data from these trials to decide which changes will be adopted for the 2026 World Cup. If the offside rule is updated, it could mark one of the biggest shifts in football tactics in decades, encouraging more attacking play and reducing controversy over tight offside calls

Need to go back to 1990 and before. Daylight offside but instead the attacker has to stay behind. None of this is he level or did one of his eyelashes drift offside. VAR has caused a drop in goals scored but can do better. Actually passing ruined football. Attempting any pass should be against the rules. Just take on defenders sliding in. If dispossessed teammates can go win back the ball with twofooted tackles.

Trials with the new rule show refs make fewer offside mistakes and goals scored go up by 10% to pre-VAR levels. Attacking teams benefit, more space, more direct end-to-end fast-paced games. Harder to recover from getting the offside trap wrong/to suffocate teams/to play sterile U-shaped football. Might even see the return of the old school 10 who'll have more time and space now. Doubt it because the impact will be rather limited.
>>
Ngubus the world over are rejoicing
>>
good because the rule is shit and punishes attackers for trying to score
>>
This is a whiteness test. Some browns may have the intellectual capacity to see why this is retarded, but certainly no one who thinks this is a good idea can be considered white
>>
>>152756003
Attackers will simply block defenders. Stand in front of them and back into them as the ball is played then run onto a ball hoofed in front of you uncontested for a tap in.

There will be no defence against this. It's tough enough with Arsenal's current tactic of running in to block keepers on set pieces (arguably should be called for fouls more often). This will make it worse as there's no need to run in, just "stand your ground" which isn't a foul and it won't be limited to set pieces.

The only time we ever did it was the 2012 Olympics and we didn't even try. Threw in old men for laughs and didn't even progress out the group stage. It was a disgrace. Beckham was still playing at that time and didn't get in. At least the Women have worked out a way to make a GB team for the Olympics. Men refuse to do it because 'muh independence'. The entire thing is of the belief that if a GB team played in the Olympics regularly then FIFA would demand (lol, lmao) the Scottish, Welsh etc FAs to disband and a GB FA to be formed. Which is nonsense.

Couldn't you order the draft picks from earliest to be mathematically eliminated from the playoffs to latest? Presumably every team at least tries until the playoffs are out of reach.
