I just don't trust the rim brakes and 25mm tyres anymore when the conditions are not perfect.My new bike comes with crappy rims so I am looking to upgrade them to fancy carbon ones. Now I am tied between getting "road" rims with 28 external width, or "gravel" rims with 31 external width. If I would plan on putting some nice fat 32mm tyres, the wider rims would be better no? And another worry I have is that the max tyre clearance for the frame is 32mm, could the 32mm tyres become wider than 32mm with 31mm rims?
