>bbq
every country/culture thinks that except anything from grilling with direct heat to roasting is considered ""BBQ"" in the world. Although yes many eastern european people,l especially jews did smoke meats.

in the modern world, only thing that should be considered BBQ is when meats have been cooked over indirect heat with smoke. Should only apply to American BBQ (not counting the meme styles like kentucky or st louis), and latinoamerican and caribbean barbacoa types of food cooked in pits.

Grilling a sausage/cevapi/shishkebab/kofta/burger is not barbecue.

Doner and spit roast over direct heat is not barbecue.

Rotisserie chicken is not bbq.

Chinese char siu, roast pork and onions chicken is not bbq.

lmao didnt know that was actually a filter

I was riding in the hills in this posh old money neighborhood earlier, and there was this slightly overweight male teen and this hot bitch in tight yoga shorts and a revealing sports bra riding mountain bikes with really wide tires. I couldn't tell if the woman was a friend, his sister, or his mom, but it felt like she was his mom. She wasn't particularly athletic but at least she could keep going on a low gear where as the fat kid was falling behind quite a lot. I wanted to just stay behind that braphog, but she had to stop to let the kid catch up so I had to pass her at an intersection. I wonder if he ever thinks about railing that hog.

pogacar and the fake humble cringefest he puts on is awful, and the fact people lap it up is even worse. pretending not to breathe through your mouth during the back end of a tour stage is just pathetic, parasocial behaviour.

giving the italian kid his glasses and jersey after he robbed the stage off him in a typical greedy fashion was peak cringe. as armstrong says, you're there to win the whole thing, taking all the stages you can is a real bad look. sure, r3ddit fanboys love it and they'll shout "it's a race!" but reality is it's incredibly greedy.
cycling is a political sport and greed isn't appreciated when everyone needs a slice to just survive.

you have seen the reactions to his obscene performances and how deflated everyone is? if this guy is clean, he is the greatest talent the sport has and possibly will ever see. the fact he has such a sketchy team, teams staff, sponsors and comes from a nation that is known to be laxed on testing and has had multiple high profile team doctors is enough.
it's actually ridiculous he acts with such arrogance and fake humble when he's probably got the most organised dope program the sport has ever seen.

yes, from a race calender point of view as well as stage wins. you do not greed a grand tour in that manner, I have never seen it before. regardless what limp wristed reddit experts say, you do not sweep up everything you can when you win the tour. cycling is political. the fake humble except he's constantly taking the stages, ie the things that actually matter to other teams. sure its a race but it's far more complicated than that. people can choose not to understand it, that is their fantasy.

I am back from my cycling trips to the schwarzwald bros. it was a good time, weather was excellent once again except for some thunder that cut my 12/8 ride short and prevented me from a 13/8 ride. other than that the legs were below par but i think i will go back to this region of cycling

i was initially planning to go to the austrian alps but the weather was looking pretty bad so i just stuck to germany instead. a medium mountain range but some good rampas and really relaxing forest roads through megatall pine and beech trees. i think i will return here in future as a kind of preparation stop for the austrian alps

Keep the alu wheels for now. Switching from Alu to carbon you'll shave 200-300gs at best which if this is your first bike is not something you need on your mind. Focus on riding on your current bike & wheelset, you'll probably be bound to crash one or two times to break yourself in so you don't need a carbon wheelset for now. Carbon wheelsets are marginal gains really. Just ride, that wheelset is perfectly fine

more about getting deeper wheels than weight savings, I would think

>>
>>143902256
at a beginner's level this is insignificant. rather he pursue good fitness and weight then invest into a top of the line carbon wheelset like Winspace or Magene rather than these fink offbrands

>>143902327
I doubt that frame cant fit more than 25s. You can see it at the fork, same for the brake calipers on that groupset. This isn't a big deal though, riding on 23mms or 25mms is just as good
>>
>>143902156

>I doubt that frame cant fit more than 25s. You can see it at the fork, same for the brake calipers on that groupset. This isn't a big deal though, riding on 23mms or 25mms is just as good
yes fren its only 25mm wheels. i dont think 28's will fit. new wheels would look nice but then id need a power meter and tires and itd end up costing as much as my whole bike.
>>
>>143902412
Just tune your bike fit for now. Go out to ride with a set of allen keys and change things up when it doesnt feel right. What's most important is seat height and saddle fore/aft and its angle. If you can't be comfortable on your bike then it'll be hard to complete 3+hrs ride and riding will seem like a chore. Also get into stretching and yoga until you have the elasticity of a piece of gum. Many (me included) jumped into the sport and put hours into riding with doing fuck all on the side and after a while discomfort and pain settles in. You want to avoid that

I'd go with these, 45mm deep are perfect depth imo, you get more aero than 38, they look better but not quite as try hard as 50-55mm and they are pretty stable in crosswind.

Insider info
>>
>>143906634
Yup this also means we are going back to quick release. No more team car to change the entire bike. Just two guys on a motorbike with the passenger carrying wheels ready to make the change in 8 seconds tops. but since it'll mostly be for mountain stages and he's forced to ride disk on the boring flat stages where GC doesn't matter there's little risks of punctures
>>
>>143907072
Why aren't disc bike running quick release anyway? Is it just for the good to go effect?
>>
>>143907152
marginal aero gains
>>
>>143907152
At first they used to run quick release on disc brakes wheels but then they realized excessive braking force with disk brakes caused the quick release system and thus the whole wheel to get loose with risk of the wheel simply leaving the bike. This is due to disk brakes being the entire wheel in its integrity stopping to a halt rather than the rim surface being rubbed to a halt. Very different outcome physics wise. So a bolt release system that needs allen keys to load was preferred

I have a long sleeve jersey and overshoes and full finger heavy gloves for when it gets around 0°. I used to do the technique of putting aluminium foil inside the shoes to block the vents but under 5° that's not enough you need the full on shoe covers, particularly when it rains. I actually like riding in the wet and the cold I feel great at the bottom of the winter in december at 2° celsius. I tried long sleeve bibs though and your legs feel less free it's an odd feeling to describe. It's fine for the upper body since it's rock solid and static but the legs need some freedom. this winter I'll invest in those pro peloton aero helmets with less vents that seems good for rainy days/cold days and maybe winter shoes but that's a strong maybe. I also want to get fenders but I feel like my aero frame don't clear those, I'll just get the under seat ones because that ass splash is very annoying

Mørkøv's win was extremely kino btw. It's the one where Tony Martin attacked from like 100 km out and nearly made it, but Cancellara decided "hell no" and single-handedly closed the gap in the final meters, causing a mess of a sprint which Mørkøv somehow won.
