But I would look at week one maybe 500-600 TSS with ~1.5-2hr tempo total, maybe one session with the 1 minute/50s x 6-8. These always tune my legs up but enormous impact and TSS. Like 2 session of SS or tempo, especially if you felt suffering already say 4x 30 minutes at tempo would probably be good for week 1 so it's not too fatiguing. Week 2 probably more intesity like 2hr-2.5hr at tempo or maybe sweetspot, 600TSS. One or two of the leg sharpening 1 minute sessions, they get you fast fitness with a lot of fatigue.Week 3 I would do 500 tss with maybe 4x8 minute threshold for one session at least, time at FTP is pretty unbeatable. Then some tempo sessions, maybe 1 x 1 minutes session but that might be a 4 day week with a lot more intesity. The final week a taper so only 300-400 tss with minimal intensity but it's important to have some so for example this week for me I'm doing FTP test so yesterday 2x20 tempo, today 2hr z2, tomorrow rest, thursday 2hr z2, friday 1hr w/ 2x20 minute tempo, sat rest and sunday the FTP test. That's around 350-400 TSS not top end so muscles won't be recovering micro tears and they won't be sore from lactate production. Intesity from tempo just keeps legs sharp. This has generally worked for me but again I'm not a coach and I'm looking for one because macro cycles I cannot manage myself. I'm sure the finnberts will have much better advice but that is what I'd do at least. Always my go to session is 3hr with 2x30 min at SS, usually 150-200 TSS ~260w-270w for the SS, FTP around 290w so it may be a little different for you tss wise but that's usually 150-200tss. Solid session that.

Other than cagie assassin attempts, I did 2h with an 8 minute block at 315-320 which is my goal for the FTP test later this week. Wanted to see if it's a realistic goal, it felt good. On a flat enough terrain I should have no issues holding 320 watts. Legs were tired today and I did 320 at 175bpm. For the final 12 minutes I expect that to raise to 180bpm. Last 3 minutes I'll push on as much as I can if I'm on target for 320. If I achieve this goal, end of September I'll likely be around a 310-315w ftp which was my goal back in April when I started riding again, though my weight is coming down I'm still 77kg and probably 15kg of fat./training blog
