College bros don’t know how good they’ve got it. After college, women get boring and frigid and start talking only about granite countertops, Costco specials, Pinterest recipes, and running strollers. They lose that alluring fire they had in their college days that ignites a man’s loins. Women over 25 just aren’t fun, peppy, perky, and cheerful. It’s draining to men to deal with these women. So if you’re in college, run up in every pussy you possibly can. Your older self will be glad you did.

100%. Between all the usual suspects(portal, NIL, realignment) there's also the fact that most colleges are majority female now. All misogyny aside, women don't generally get as attached to teams and the way women party is very different to how men do. Especially in college.

What went wrong? Was it really going to the NFL that ruined his legacy and system?
>>

It’s because you’re not around young women anymore. Being around 20 year old girls gives you energy and vitality. When you’re around 35 year old women, you get the opposite effect.

Nothing. The rest of college football has adopted his system.
>>
>>144205161
But Rid Rod had it before him?
>>
>>144205161
it sounds crazy for it to be as simple as this, but it really is
>>
>>144205109
Similar arc to Nebraska in its heyday. Forward thinking approach to strength and conditioning and offensive play, but the football world caught up to his approach and neutralized it. Plus he hated recruiting and couldn’t win in the NFL because there are no cupcakes on the schedule.
>>
Is there an offense in CFB25 that's focused on the H-Back?
>>
>>144205075
Pretty cheap to pay a trap to model whatever.
>>
>>144205169
It all came about around the 90s. Rich Rod found the zone read run pass option when his QB at Glenville State (WV) did it on a busted play. Meaning the QB is reading a DE or LB and deciding to hand the ball off to the HB or keep the ball himself. That's one very specific concept that makes up an offense, but he used it to devastating affect. The idea of a "spread" offense itself is not that new. Make the field as wide as possible and force the defense to cover everything really well. The Run and Shoot offense is an example of a spread offense. Chip Kelly did a lot with blocking schemes. Both him and Urban Meyer at Utah had great success with the Run/Pass Option. Rich Rod was more of a Run/Run Option, you just didn't know who would run it because the QB read the defense.

Time for Texas A&M's Campus Crime Report:
>UPD Case Number 24-0904-0006
>The National Incident Based Reporting System (NIBRS) classifies an electric bike as a motor vehicle.
>On September 4, 2024, the Texas A&M University Police Department (UPD) received a report of a stolen electric bike. The victim parked her bike in the southwest corner of the 100 Park Garage, secured with a chain lock in the bike enclosure, on August 29, 2024, at approximately 5:00 pm. The victim returned on September 4, 2024, at approximately 3:30 PM to find the bike missing.
>Following an investigation, the stolen bike was recovered, however the suspect is still at large.
>Anyone having information pertaining to this crime or other incidents is encouraged to contact the Texas A&M University Police Department at 979-845-2345.
>While a university is required under the Clery Act to notify the public of such reports, it is also our responsibility to provide information regarding protective measures.
>Anti-Theft suggestions:
>Keep locks off the ground where thieves can get leverage to pry them and break them.
>Consider using a high security U-lock that properly fits the scooter.
>Park in well-lit conspicuous areas and in view of cameras.
>Consider attaching a GPS tracker.
>Remove the battery pack whenever possible.
>Take the scooter with you whenever possible.
>The safety of our community does not have borders. It is the goal of every law enforcement agency to protect the citizens that we serve. Be the eyes and ears of your police department. When you see suspicious activity contact the Texas A&M University Police Department at 979-845-2345, the College Station Police Department at 979-764-3600, or the Bryan Police Department and the Brazos County Sheriff’s Office at 979-361-3888. Together we can make a difference in our community.

Just wanted to give the rest of you guys hope. Growing up watching Georgia be the epitome of mid, I never dreamed we'd be doing what we are today. So hang in there, all it takes is your administration finally going all in, spending a fuckton on facilities and recruiting, hiring the understudy of the GOAT, living in a top 4 talent producing state, etc. So cheer it, it'll be your turn one day too! :)

It would result in schools cutting tons of useless majors that are disproportionately chosen by women and minorities. All college students would either be rich kids, smart kids on scholarship or smart kids getting something useful in STEM. Those last two categories would skew white and male. Therefore that makes this solution racist and sexist, which is unacceptable. America prefers financial devastation over being called racist and sexist.

Obviously they could have the same ways to try to make you pay as current lenders do so you don't have people who can repay blowing off their repayments. The idea is cutting down on the number of students taking out 150K in loans for a meme degree they can't possibly pay off because their yearly earnings top out at 40K in some dead end job. That's what schools are at fault for, and as long as the government is willing to give fully backed loans to anyone who wants to get a meme degree they'll keep doing so.

The natural result would be less lending for useless degrees whose only career paths are underemployment or academia, which is only a career path because it saddles the next generation of suckers with loans they can't repay. If you wanted a lucrative, useful degree schools would be willing to cosign those loans because they know a STEM graduate is more likely to be able to pay off their loans than an Art History graduate.

The schools are expanding their expenses like crazy but ultimately it is the government that's to blame for giving out loans for shitty degrees to people who never should have been granted a high school diploma, much less one from a university.
A bank giving a $100,000 vehicle loan to a 18 year old living in a trailer who has never held down a job for more than a month so he can buy a Dodge Charger is stupid but we don't blame the car dealership nor the manufacturer. We blame the bank for giving out such a stupid loan. The government is the bank when it comes to the student loan market. Private loans are close to non-existent anymore.
All of the "solutions" that involve putting the school in a position of risk are fine if that change is made going forward but even if they expanded expenses at a ridiculous rate, changing the rules after the fact goes against pretty much the entire body of common law. A new paradigm is needed as the current situation is not sustainable but in the end, all paths lead back to the United States government.

The federal government basically told every school that they were now writing blank checks to anyone who wanted to get a degree. Of course schools jacked up prices, everyone can “afford” it since the government is giving out loans. Also the idea of lending an 18 year old 5 or 6 figures of money is absolutely insane. This whole thing would not have happened if the government was very selective about who they loaned to and how much they would loan. Yes people should have to pay back the loans, but to hand them out so carelessly and then make them the only thing that stays in a bankruptcy is pretty crazy. It’s a big clusterfuck that students, schools, and the government all share responsibility in.

>>
>>144215669
To qualify for a never ending powerhouse, you can't have 30 year stretches without nattys. They were and are powerhouses, but there was a 30 year stretch where they werent. Otherwise, Penn State is also a neverending Powerhouse

Lots of nattys, winning nattys in 3+ different decades, winning conference championships in 5+ different decades, 800+ wins, few really bad seasons, and an ability to consistently get the best recruits.

Miami was a powerhouse from the early 80s to the early 00s. They were never a blueblood

you can't call a school like ohio state a perennial national powerhouse. the only dominance they've demonstrated consistently is their own conference. that's it. their last natty was a decade ago. they haven't won their conference in 4 years. they have a losing bowl record.

they are the masters of the big ten and on average they win a natty every 18 years. nobody outside the big 10 is afraid to see ohio state on the other side.

10 years for a natty and 4 years for a conference championship isn’t that long. The losing owl record is in part because they only played in the roseb owl until the 70s. Being the masters of their conference isn’t a knock either considering some bluebloods don’t even do that all the time. Oklahoma didn’t win theirs the entire 90s. Alabama didn’t win one until the last year of the 2000s. Michigan went from 2005-2020 without winning one.

This is an interesting blue blood/national powerhouse debate. Depending on your definition it can range from “Miami is a blue blood now” to “No team has ever been a national powerhouse.”
I can see it going plenty of different ways. Miamis success only started in the 80s so I’m fine to say they aren’t blue blood, but I wouldn’t be opposed to someone saying they have become one. They surely get the preseason top 25 treatment every year like they are. Or USC for example. They had a resurgence for a bit in the 2000s, but all their main success is pre 1980. Pittsburgh is considered neither but have like 10 national championships and 700+ wins.

College football and screwing teams is a historic tradition. What about 2008 Utah? Only team undefeated, got left out of the natty for two 1 loss teams, beat Nick Saban Bama (who would win the natty the next year) in a more convincing way than champion Florida did. There’s a case that Utah should have and would have beat Florida or Oklahoma in the natty.

You can get around that by just ignoring illegitimate meme systems and decisions. UCF has every right to claim the 2017 natty, so they do. Ole Miss has every right to claim 1962, so they do. Utah just hasn’t grown a pair of balls, so they don’t claim their rightful natty.
>>
>>144218522
You are not going to tell me that Utah, who beat literally no one in the regular season should have been in the natty over Florida who beat 5 ranked teams including #1 Bama to get to the natty and Oklahoma who also beat 5 ranked teams to get there (but did lose to ranked Texas). Utah was good but they would have lost to Florida.

hi everyone, i'm not a big college football expert but i'm fascinated by the way teams are ranked by the commission and asked myself why this is not done objectively with some algorithm;
so i decided to develop an elo rating system to rank teams only based on their wins and losses.
i know this is nothing new, many have done it, but i made a few adjustments to keep it as fair and objective as possible
. if you dont know what elo ratings are, basically teams exchange points after every game based on the result (win-loss) and the expected outcome (determined by the teams previous rating)
. all games up until four seasons ago count, but they are weighted favoring more recent seasons (weight=1 for 2024, 1/4 for 2023, 1/8 for 2022, 1/16 for 2021, 1/32 for 2020)
. conference championship games and bowls count less than regular season games bc i dont want to punish teams for losing an extra game they deserved to play
. starting ratings for the 2020 season are: 1525 for P5 teams + ND, 1475 for G5 teams; FCS teams are always rated 1250
. of course my system is flawed bc on the first games the ratings will still be heavily influenced by the previous season(s), but it will adjust and show fair rankings in a few weeks
. picrel is the current ranking and elo ratings after week1 (column "pre" are the pre-season ratings, column "0" the ratings after week 0)

I don’t know why you lend so much credence to these meme systems. In 2008 four teams deserved to play for the natty and only two teams were allowed by the system. That makes it a meme system. Who really gives a fuck what a meme system says? Why do you think winning a meme system in the only way to win a natty?

Playing in the BCS is NOT the only way to win a natty. I don’t see why this is so hard for you. Utah are 2008 national champions. Who gives a fuck if they’re not BCS meme champions?
>>
>>144220196
They weren’t bad but they weren’t natty worthy. There’s a long list of G5 teams that finished undefeated against no ranked teams.

Now 2008 Utah, they beat 3 ranked teams in the regular season and added another top 10 win in their owl. 4 ranked wins and an undefeated schedule is natty worthy any year.

miami isn't. blue blood programs have ancient and modern success for the most part. it isn't a cut and dry line but like michigan and ohio state are blue bloods even though between the two of them they only have 4 natties in like 55 years. meanwhile miami isn't even though they have 5 by themselves in the last 40.

i think big parts of it is a landmark, traditional stadium, participation in sport defining games, consistent success, natties, big rivalries, etc.

i loved peak miami, they were a lot of fun, but 20 years of dominant play isn't enough to make them alabama or oklahoma or ND tier. i do think nebraska and miami should be considered coequals one notch under the blueboods in whatever tier that is
>>
>>144220857
Georgia Tech is a blue blood. Historical success. Historical stadium. Breeder of legendary football figures and games. You can't change my mind. Buck breaking Florida state's national championship hopes twice in the past 10 years alone keeps them relevant.

>>
>>144220857

>>144218966
>why this is not done objectively with some algorithm;
It was done like this during the BCS era and a bunch of boomers bitched about it, so it was changed to a 4 team playoff (teams decided by boomers and literal glowies like Condolezza Rice) which redditors hated, so now we have a 12 team playoff that everyone except zoomers hate
>>
>>144221092
>Tennessee
Only Tennessee fans believe this. Their fans have the same arrogance of a Bama or Georgia with so very little to back it up. If Georgia wins one more this decade I can see arguments but Tennessee will NEVER be a blueblood.

these are fine for the most part although I don't love usc here

Tennessee and Georgia never were and nebraska has been irrelevant for far too long with too big a question as to whether they can come back. nebraska is unique in that.

a program like miami or fsu can fall down, even for years, and still always at any given time be a threat to wake up and make another run at a natty because of their recruiting base and branding. even schools like Tennessee fall into this category because even though tennessee is in recruiting death battles every year they have the admin support and facilities to support a great head coach turn them into a conference championship caliber team any given year.

nebraska isn't like this. they suffer heavily from where they are located and the loss of major rivalries via realignment. they've also suffered to some extent from the modernization of college football. they're not in the hunt for blue chip recruits anymore and it's a banner offseason if they get a top 15 class.

of all the powers from the 80s and 90s I think nebraska is the one that just cannot ever be "back". they have too much going against them

The fact that standings don't exist in college football. There have been dozens of rating systems for a century now and not a single one has simply put the teams in order of record like you're suggesting here. This is because they know the quality and talent of football teams are so enormously stratified in college football that just putting them in order of record would be retarded. Going undefeated with Liberty's schedule would not be near as impressive as going 13-1 with Florida's schedule. This is obvious to everyone but you.
>I don't. I'm saying these systems repeatedly got it wrong.
And you're wrong for the reasons listed above.
>Yes, at least 1 of the teams selected was not the correct team.

>>
>>144220857
Putting Nebraska and Miami on the same level is a high IQ take. Both have about 30 years of relevance in the last 80, all at one time.
>>
>>144221404
You forgot half of Texas, which has the prestige of being a blueblood without actually having the accomplishments to back it up, so they're half.
>>
>>144221507
Yale won 27 natties and lost it. Princeton won 28 and also lost it. More recently Minnesota and Pitt lost it. If you think Nebraska was every a blueblood, you shouldn't anymore.
>>
>>144221092
Looking back now I would add Texas and Penn State to the list. My criteria is:
Over 850 wins
Minimum 5 national championships (claimed or unclaimed)
Minimum 1 national championship older than 50 years (claimed or unclaimed)
Minimum 1 national championship newer than 50 years (claimed or unclaimed)
>>144221507
yeah I kind of feel that way, unless there is 4+ decades of being shit. Nebraska will be approaching that soon as they fall down the all time wins list and don't win a natty. If you asked CFB fans in 1970 about blue bloods I imagine Minnesota and Pittsburgh would be on that list for example.
>>144221694
Nebraska has a slight edge for me due to having about 300+ more wins, but it's not a crazy take. I'd put Miami into blue blood before I dropped Nebraska.

Not sure if trolling or just ignorant of that season. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and compare the resumes during the final BCS rankings for you.

>Oklahoma
Beat the teams that finished #7 (by 44), #11 (by 25), #13 (by 20), and #21 (by 42).

>Utah
Beat the teams that finished #11 (by 3) and #1 (by 24).

So Oklahoma beat four ranked teams by an average of 32 points. Utah beat two ranked teams by an average of 14 points. Oklahoma beat twice as many ranked teams and looked twice as good doing it. And when they did play the same opponent, Oklahoma won by 25 and Utah won by 3.

These aren't "similar" resumes.

>>Utah is the national champion for 2008
>>Utah shouldn't play in the 2008 national championship game
Both true. Again, you're hung up on the BCS meme system. You don't have to be in the BCS meme championship to be a national champion.
>>Utah beat 2 ranked teams
>AP Poll shows 4 ranked teams
You're still counting games that didn't exist on December 7, 2008 when the final BCS rankings came out. Take away the Alabama and there's 3 AP ranked teams. That extra one (Oregon State) doesn't help you much. Beating the #25 team by 3 points is not the performance of a top 2 team.

So we have Utah beating 3 ranked teams by an average of 10 points vs Oklahoma beating 4 ranked teams by an average of 32 points. Again, not similar resumes.
>>BCS rankings are a meme
The BCS system (#1 vs #2 for the natty) is a meme. The rankings weren't perfect by 2008 but they were as good as any other.
>Utah wasn't top 2 in the rankings therefore you don't think they should have played for a championship
As addressed here >>144220261 they deserved to play for a natty. Just not the BCS meme system which allows only two teams to play for the natty. Utah wasn't a top 2 team at the end of the regular season.
>1. Utah deserved to play for the 2008 national championship.
Under a proper (4 team playoff) system yes. They didn't deserve to under the BCS meme system of the time though.
>2. Utah could (and should) rightly claim the 2008 national championship.
Yes.

Really the only seasons that stand out where ND probably shouldn't be the champs are 1929, 1930, 1943, 1946, and 1949. Really it was only 45%.

Also retarded, but around the corner at least.
>>
>>144229223
We're not going in circles at all. You just don't have any arguments left. They were left out of a 2 team system because they weren't a top 2 team when the final rankings came out. They had fewer ranked wins than Florida and Oklahoma and they performed much worse in those wins, including against common opponents.
>>
>>144230259
All of those natties are rock solid though.
>>144231144
5 of the 12 they claim before Saban were fraudulent - 1926, 1941, 1964, 1973, and 1978. Half of Bear's were fake, which is why Saban is much better than him. Even though Saban often got some help from the BCS/committee, he at least won his games.

Probably Bama bout could also be Dartmouth. Bama was chosen by most selectors.
>1926
Bama as well. Comical that 1 and 2 play in the Rose Bowl and the game just ends in a tie.
>1930
I got Bama here over ND. Both claim this natty.
>1934
Minnesota
>1941
A 9-2 Bama claims this one despite finishing 3rd in their own conference and being ranked 20th. This one is laughably bad.
>1961
Bama. Only undefeated/untied record in cfb.
>1964
Arkansas rightfully claims this one. Conference champ, undefeated season, Cotton Bowl win, and beat the #1 team. Bama finishes 10-1.
>1965
Bama possibly wins this one by attrition? Not really sure. Michigan State and Arkansas clearly have the best schedule with both knocking off multiple top 10 teams. Both play in bowl games and both lose. A 1 loss Bama and undefeated Nebraska play in the Orange Bowl. The bowl would be the only ranked game for either of these teams. Bama wins the Orange Bowl, nobody finished undefeated, and they claim it. Selectors are split 50/50 on Bama and Michigan State. Both teams rightfully claim it.
>1973
I gave 1930 to Bama, but this one goes to ND. Here's the comical part. #1 Bama plays #3 ND as the only two remaining undefeated teams in the Sugar Bowl. Bama loses and claims the natty.
>1978
USC for me. Both teams played each other and USC won. Both claim the natty.
>1979
Bama
>1992
Bama
Not as bad as ND but they claim a few that they probably don't deserve. 1941 stands out as egregious.

I like this guy. He argues about everything. Fair to say I'm using the 1966 SEC as the cutoff. What I should have said was pre-1966 Tulane had some really good seasons.
