Said it last night and I'll say it again. Trackhouse should switch to Ford, or better yet, Ford should do whatever it takes to get Trackhouse. SVG is wins, Ross is excitement, and they have Zilisch signed to their roster (loaned to JRM next year). Chevy will always favor HMS, and I don't even hate Chevy for this, but Ford is notorious for treating all their teams fairly. They'd fill the void left by three SHR cars leaving.

>>144587474Yeh, with a bus stop like the GOAT roval, Daytona. It's strange that such a good oval can make such a shitty roval. Even Charlotte is better.
>>144587661>>144587786>>144587942>>144587821>>144588270Daytona is a solid track and they have been slowly improving it over the years. Clearly the banking is the defining feature, but the corkscrew isn't the only thing that makes Laguna Seca great and sure, the infield is flat, but so is Silverstone.Just looking at the track maps side by side, you can immediately see some differences. First, Daytona uses way more of the oval. It's probably 95% of the course, while Indy isn't even 25%. It also looks like the infield sections were designed to reflect their respective ovals, which I understand, but what makes a good oval doesn't necessarily make a good road course. Daytona has rounded, sweeping turns (look at that sexy bitch between 12 and 1) with two nice tight hairpins. Pure sexo. Indy on the other hand is very square with only two turns that are less that 90° and then only just. The biggest issue with fixing the Indy roval is that the infield is so built up. It has a ton of facilities, including part of a gold course. It would be immensely difficult to change much about it without disrupting that. I do think adding the back straight with a bus stop would help, though.
>>144591729Adding to that, Daytona is massively fun to drive in sims
>>144587918Why didn't they ever fix it and run Superu Formularu on it? I know it's expensive, but surely they could figure it out by now.

>>144588469F1 style.Larson led basically the entire race and finished 6 or 7 seconds ahead of Elliot on a track with a 15 second lap time. There was some was some exciting racing up and down the field and some cool working through traffic, but Larson was never really threatened for the lead.

>>144627891>25 charters (top 22 charter cars eligible for leaders circle payouts)>Prema does not get any charters (and are thus ineligible for leaders circle even if they beat a charter team in the standings)>27 car grid cap for every race (besides Indy's usual 33)>charter cars are guaranteed entry (at every race besides Indy)if one of Prema's drivers were ever somehow contending for a championship, their rivals could enter an extra car to try to outqualify them and hurt their championship chances. it's unlikely but possible.
>Penske Entertainment retains permanent ownership of each of the 25 charters that were distributed. With its approval, which also includes receiving a percentage of any sales, Penske will welcome new entrants to the series, or the sale of charters from one member to another lmaoSo was Penske's phone call to encourage the holdouts to sign "sign this fucking shit or we'll sell it to Prema bitch" like when he pressured PT into signing a contract where he'd get paid with the spare change Roger found in Al Jr's couch?
>>144632619>"sign this fucking shit or we'll give it to Prema bitchfixed. now Prema will have to buy out another team if they want charters (and leader's circle money)
>By leaving it out and making it the domain of IndyCar’s sporting regulations, the series’ parent company has given itself the latitude reduce the cap in the coming years to no more than 25 cars — to match the number of charters – which is expected throughout the paddock.Literally why is Prema flushing money down the toilet to race in this series that could not make it any clearer they don't want them? It's not like they can even offer competitive rates for rent-a-rides to anyone but the absolute shittiest shitters that never hoped to have their car in the top 22.Also the 3 drivers per season rule on paper might seem like it would improve entry quality but it also means a team like Coyne potentially can't run an actually talented young driver who might only have funding for one or two races in between rich pay drivers and has to focus on the guys with the most money.
>>144632912>Also the 3 drivers per season rule on paper might seem like it would improve entry quality but it also means a team like Coyne potentially can't run an actually talented young driver who might only have funding for one or two races in between rich pay drivers and has to focus on the guys with the most money.it also means that the 3rd Ganassi car will ALWAYS be taken by a pay driver shitter like Simpson. possibly the 3rd car in the other 3 car teams too, but Chip is the most notorious for this. the only team I trust not to use the 3rd charter as a pay driver seat is Penske.

>the year is 202X>in a strange and unlikely turn of events, Callum Ilott/Prema and Felix Rosenqvist/MSR are competing for the championship>it's down to the final race, the Nashville oval>MSR enters Helio Castroneves in a 3rd non-charter car>Ilott qualifies p3>the other Prema driver qualifies p2>Castroneves qualifies p1>Ilott is bumped out of the race due to Prema's lack of a charter-guaranteed entry, handing the championship to Rosenqvistextremely unlikely yes, but the fact that this scenario is even a possibility concerns me.
>>144634553not trying for digits, just trying to spell Ilott's name right kek

another (unlikely) scenario that pisses me off:>Callum Ilott/Prema wins the championship>gets $0 from the leader's circlethe only team that should be barred from leader's circle money is Team Penske.
no idea why Prema agreed to enter the series under these conditions, unless there is a secret plan for them to eventually take over the charters of one of the shitter charter teams (Coyne? Carpenter?). if not, they are getting FUCKED for no reason other than being new. welcome to PenskeCar, bitch.
>charter entries limited to 3 different drivers per seasonit's being called "the Dale Coyne rule", but maybe it should be called the Zak Brown rule instead.

The supplier be it poorelli, michelin,han-gook or anyone else is not incentivitized to actually spend more than the bare minimum because they have no competition, and by beaing the sole supplier they can impose and pushthrough bullshit rules for their cost savings, they just need to say the magic word "safety" or saying "it will improve racing", theexpression promoters would sell their moms even

Standard layout has the fast sweeping right off the main straight into S curves, then straight up into an increasing radius right that slings you across into a fast left and onto the infield straight. Then a really fast left into a slow decreasing radius right hairpin inspired by the hairpin at Fuji, ran backwards. Then a medium left, fast right, onto the speedway T1 and around to the brickyard. Alt turns off at the esses and back onto the oval, goes through speedway T3, then a bus stop on the back straight, then a right to rejoin the infield layout at the hairpin.

The most we get is let sides only and that Cadillac win at Long Beach, but that wasn't even a real double stint and when they tried it at Laguna Seca the next race it cost them big time. >>144661922I love them as well, but having the proton porsche is just unnecessary porsche spam while the grid is pretty tight. Current meta is to get as much unique manufacturers, be it big brand or a bespoke manufacturer like vanwall or glick. Then when they eventually leave they will either hand down their programme to privateers or sell their cars to themThis is the way to lenghten the lifespan of the regs as much as we can. Also proton could run a factory program
https://twitter.com/ECRIndy/status/1838971727931384179Ed Indy-only?
>>144663528With Jota switching brands, it’s just them and the factory team right? Not too bad regarding porsche spam
>>144664520With the new Splenda money I would bet on it
>>144656995True. I'm a big Denny hater, but an 11 without FedEx on it just feels wrong. He's been repping them what, a decade? Maybe even more.I hate that the economics of sponsorships in this sport have killed consistent paint schemes. It deprives drivers of some of their mystique. What would Gordon be without DuPont? What would Dale be without Goodwrench?
>>144663366Has the lost M3 GTR been found yet?
>>144664677yeah but hyundai and aston coming in, vanwall also trying, there is also the honda/acura program which might be looking to cross the atlantic and also Lambo will need to field a second car next yearGrid is limited for 36 cars due to pit size, 18 Hypermeme, 18 dentistmobileConfirmed Hypercar manufacturers for next yearCaddy,Toyota, Poogeot, Porsch, Ferrari, Alpine, Lambo, Aston, BMWThats already 18 and Hyundai will come in 2026, Mclel possibly in 2027
>>144666221dropping gt3 is not feasible, but something needs to be made.Hypercar manufacturers automatically gain entries for LMGT3 and it's up to them if they use it. Mclel and Ford can only have cars in LMGT3 bc the 2 french hypermeme dont have gt3 cars atmSO maybe we are looking the stang being denied an entry next year if there will be additional porsche lmdh apart from the factory team
>>144666286This is of course about WEC, lemons with it's 56 car limit is a bit better looking in this regard and the acurahonda may only goes to WEC for the lemans, but that would need a lot of lobbying for waivers at FIA as currently only hypermeme allowed at lemans are from manufacturers participating the full seasonAlso the corvette is using the caddy entry i believe
Akkodis would have to inevitably race the LFR.
>>144664745>a decadeReal zoomer hours
>>144666870coooooooooooool
>>144666286In principle 24 hypermemes and no field filling ProAm faggotry is a totally viable championship. Could probably get some extra privateers if they knew they would get spots.
The amount of effort they are putting into running this bike on the wrong tire in JSB1000 feels like it would only make sense if Honda actually bothers having a factory superbike team in the US againThat is one chunky boy swingarm, anyways.
>>144667594>That is one chunky boy swingarm, anyways. Not sure if it's the case here, but I do know that the new 'trick' is to 3D print stuff that's in less than traditional shapes that are CAD designed to minimize weight and maximize strength. That swingarm shape reminds me of that.
>>144668061There's some of that stuff starting to be used but that is almost certainly still machined from a big block of aluminum and cost >$10,000. Attack Performance will sell almost every part on their superbikes except the swingarms just because they take up so many CNC machine and labor hours better spent on higher volume items.

>>144667050Exactly. What I would be happy to see:-WEC name becomes an umbrella term (World Endurance ChampionshipS)-LMGT3 spun off into a FIA Global GT series-Hyper spun off into the new FIA Sportscar World Championship-Don't focus only on endurance, have a few "sprint" races every season in the 300-500KM ballpark, instead of the current minimum 1000-Make it a mostly Pro series and ditch the bronze shitter pleasing rules-Also invest in some dts tier faggotry to lure in more sponsors
Started to make calculations about what is the earliest Neuville will be able to grab the championship.Interestingly, Only neuville scored full points on a single rally, since then the winner either did not take 18 points on saturday or cruised on sunday

>>144669817jeeeeeeeesus idiot, McZoomer get off your uneducated brain from /pol/ or if you already rotting your mind there read that damn 1984 the edgelords really likehow does it feel to parrot some mouthbreather logic?
>>144663528The issue is all the wasted paddock space for LMP2. considering the Hypercars are about as fast as pre-2020 LMP2 cars, there's simply no reason for the P2s to still be on the grid. They had to artificially gimp them to keep them from being faster than the HCs. Just give P2s their own sprint race championship with no GTs. Like a tin top F2.
>>144671476What you described is how the WSC worked in the 60s and 70s. Championship of GTs and Championship of Manufacturers. GT championship competed between Group 4 and Group 5 cars, Manufacturers for Group 6. Group 6 was entirely works teams, 4 and 5 was mostly privateers.
