Same as NLS, have it on in the background with some beer and snacks while you do something else. In this case I have both S-Tai and Macau on while waiting for the conditions at Macau to get better
S-Tai's pretty low intensity even compared to the NLS races

Unfortunately not, S-Tai's only in Nip except for select parts of the Fuji 24H. I don't think Motorsport.tv carries it either so we can't even get sleepy Brit + shouty Brit, as much as we detest them

Thanks. Thats too bad. I get a lot out of the commentary. Between this, NASCAR Brazil and Carrera Cup Brazil, I will have spent a majority of the day listening to languages others than english and I don't think that's every happened to me while I'm in my country.
I don't mind sleepy Brit at all, I just wish shouty Brit would have his levels limited. I appreciate his enthusiasm.

Yeah Jamie Klein (sleepy Brit) is pretty good when it comes to the technical stuff and insider knowledge of the Japanese racing scene.
He writes some pretty good articles for Sportscar365 and has his own news blog here, although most of the articles are paywalled:

>>145696593
Watching stuff like this really makes me appreciate the WEC and IMSA guys. I know they get into eachother pretty often, but I'm constantly surprised how often they DON'T crash. There are so many times where I'm like

Nah, you have weekends like this earlier in the year where there's a race kicking off every 10-20 minutes or so: >>144694073

Not even close. These minor GT and TC series are running all over the world every weekend. We just don't pay attention because we are watching IMSA or WEC or IndyCar. Hell, there have to be a least 40 different SRO races most weekends in the summer, plus all the club racing and historics.
Honestly, towards the middle of August I start tonget stressed out trying to watch just the major stuff and do IRL stuff.

Just curious Russiabro, what has SMP Racing and its drivers (Sirotkin, Petrov, Aleshin etc) been up to for the past couple of years?
Is there actually anywhere where your country's teams and drivers are allowed to compete?

Sirotkin - owned a go-kart track, took a position in the russian automobile federation.
Petrov - Rarely rode in local touring and prototypes after 2016. He turned 40 this year
Aleshin - works with youngsters in karting and the first stages of f4. There's a chance he'll go to the US with Schwartzman.

it will be a bit faster glickenhaus. Dont get me wrong Im happy to see such a nice car on the grid, but it will be a midfielder at best with maybe 1 lucky win
if it would be in focus for aston and not a customer engagement publicity project worked on the engineer past time, they would be running hybrid. The whole project reeks "make it as cheap as possible". It's a love project for gaben, a customer engagement project for AM, so they don't want to spend too much on it, because it's role is to show it off in pretty videos and get the Am customers feel how sporty is the brand and also MUH HERITAGE.
If there would be serious expectations from the brand about performance, they would have already talked about it.
Also, given the lack of true factory support, it's really questionable how powerfull they will be at the tables for the backroom politics, so don't expect some special dispensation for them because they don't want to spend on the car while having the know how in-.house.

Okay I shouldnt be put this much effort in replying to braindeads like >>145714764 who is talking about aston being anti ZOG while AM is the epytome of ZOG

Toyota needs to have a GR010 prototype in IMSA. There’s no reason why they can’t race in IMSA, they 1000% meet the requirements for domestic auto sales in IMSA. Plus they won the constructors in WEC despite being BOP’d to death.

I don't buy this "only LMH can win" thing. if Porsche didn't think their LMDh car was capable of winning Le Mans, they would have went LMH. remember, they are famous for using slightly modified Group C cars to win Le Mans via loopholes.
>>

I think the issue is not that they are being given an advantage within the BoP system as such but that they are not properly taking into account the advantage of the front wheel deployment system. The limitation of the deployment speed is an acknowledgment of the advantage but it doesn't completely compensate for it.
This opens up the question of why every LMH that uses a hybrid system to date has chosen front wheel deployment while the LMDh formula is based on a rear wheel only system. All the logic in the world says that putting the hybrid in the front is the way to go.
I am extremely hopeful that the Aston Martin will be successful and I guess there is nothing to do, but wait until next season to see what happens.

Off the top of my head, I remember the Toyota hybrid shitting out in the rain at Spa (?) in 2022.

This is just as valid but imagine if its only single-seater with your imagination being the limit.

F1 has this stat in 1976
Jody Scheckter set the fastest lap at the 1976 German Grand Prix at the Nürburgring with a time of 7:10.8 on lap 13:

Porsche has this stat in 1976
Manfred Schurti's lap time
In 1976, Manfred Schurti set a lap time of 7:37.700 in a Porsche 935. This was considered an almost mythical time, especially since the car's tuning wasn't complete and the engine wasn't at full output.

Bestwick is going to TNT by the looks of it, also xfinity lineup wasn't announced yet, so there is a lot of wild cards for next year yet to be announced.
Adam Alexander going to Prime was a surprise, which means that FOX was left with a skeleton crew just for the races, and Jamie is taking Adam's place on trucks.

It still remains unclear if the car will make its competition debut in January’s Rolex 24 at Daytona or instead wait until the FIA World Endurance Championship season-opener in Qatar
This is the first I'm hearing about this. I thought they were locked in for Daytona.
>The No. 23 Aston Martin’s best lap of the weekend came at the hands of Gunn, whose 1:37.169 second time was the quickest out of the three drivers, although more than 1.5 seconds adrift from the pace-setting No. 63 Iron Lynx Lamborghini SC63 of Romain Grosjean.

if it has the same spectating rules as their wrc event, then: NO
only if you are a big weaboo fagot and touching japanese soil get's you alone hard.
There are incredible amount of limitations what you can and cannot do (lol there is even restrictions on video taking) and where you can go, and that's not an FIA thing but the rally organizer's bs.
You are way better off with basically any other wrc rally around the globe, south american ones and euro rallies are great to spectate (maybe the only outlier being CER bc of how the stages spread out) and most of them are full of SOVL fans

>>145746604
>He hasn't got the consistency unfortunately
I think he lacks the ability to adapt his driving to the car as it changes. He can really hustle it when the tires and aero and fuel load are just right, but when it starts to fall off he struggles and often crashes.

Max Verstappen at the wheel of the Acura ARX-06!
>At an event organized by Honda Racing Corporation in Las Vegas, various drivers affiliated with the Japanese manufacturer gathered.
>We find there in particular Scott Dixon, Liam Lawson, Yuki Tsunoda, Colin Braun, Sergio Pérez and even Max Verstappen.
>Thus, Liam Lawson took the wheel of an Acura Integra, Pérez took the wheel of a CR-V Hybrid, Yuki Tsunoda was seen at the wheel of an IndyCar Dallara DW12-Honda while Max Verstappen was able to test an Acura ARX-06 meeting the LMDh regulations!
>The Dutchman was notably able to rely on the advice of Colin Braun, for whom this car holds no secrets.

What a little pathetic loser. Absolutely no consideration for the team as a whole, only Max, as per usual.

Ferrari just needs to use their own V12 to complete the whole thing. Under Enzo, Ferrari are pretty much disciples of the V12.

Ronnie Quintarelli announces retirement from SUPER GT racing
>Four-time GT500 Drivers' Champion will retire after Suzuka season finale in December
>Nissan Motorsports & Customisation (NMC) announced Quintarelli’s retirement in a press release issued today, bringing an end to a career that has spanned most of 20 seasons in SUPER GT.
>The Italian driver has been a Nissan factory driver since 2008 and has driven for the flagship NISMO team since 2013.
>“Deciding to end my activities in SUPER GT, which has been the centre of my life for a long time, was a very difficult choice,” Quintarelli said. “However, I believe it is the right time to step back and let a new legacy begin.
>“I would like to express my gratitude to everyone who has supported me through both the most successful and the toughest times. I am thankful to all the fans who have cheered for me, the many sponsors who supported me, the GT Association for providing me with a platform to compete, my teammates who fought alongside me, and Nissan/NISMO.
>“Thanks to all of you, I have been able to live a dream-like life. I want to personally thank everyone at the NISMO Festival. Moreover, I will give my all behind the wheel of my dream car until the final corner of the last lap at the SUPER GT final race in Suzuka.”
>“We deeply appreciate Ronnie’s contributions to Nissan/NISMO over the past 17 years,” said Takao Katagiri, President of NMC.
>Serving as the driver of the car number 23 for 12 years requires immeasurable effort. His unparalleled record of four series championship titles is etched not only in the history of Nissan/NISMO’s motorsport but also in the history of Japanese motorsport. The final race at Suzuka is a track where Ronnie has achieved numerous victories, so we will provide our full support.”

Iron lynx is changing the car again. lol

> He's got way too much of an ego to share a car.
Nah he is pretty much content with winning by sharing a car. He is only butthurt when the other car beats him in a team, there comes the autistic rage which fuels him to go even more faster. But when sharing a car he is not second behind the others who also racing with him.
>>
>>145755278
Its the private ferrari for me and the caddies

>>145754103
> Under Enzo, Ferrari are pretty much disciples of the V12.
That's not fully true not even close to truth.
Also after the second half of 70s basically in any racecar where they used V12s were suffering from it and one of the reasons why they did not win anything meaningful until around 2000 (and even then it was a V10 though mandated by rules)
I rather have a competitive Ferrari than one pampering some anachronistic bullshit. V12 is for road and track day cars and that's completely okay. In racing it doesnt really makes any sense for 30-40 years at least, and they are aware that FIA won't and can't rescue you with BoP from your own retard technical decisions

>Ferrari just needs to use their own V12 to complete the whole thing
They don't have racing grade V12, just road car tier
>>
>>145753532
I think one of the reasons for the it muffled sound that they are running pretty low revs as the engine had to be really tuned down from the original spec to meet the LMH/LMDh regs
>>
>>145755278
Kek, did you just make that fren? I was going to, but I kinda wanted to see if they changed the fire suit or livert. Still I would have thought of the head crab and crowbar.
>>145755845
>Its the private ferrari for me and the caddies
Yeah, I still love the Cadillacs, that's for sure and I always love to see the privateer teams, too. Even as the only Aston Martin protype team, HoR still has of a privateer feel. I mean, if it were a full factory effort, I'd expect at least 2 cars to have been made by now. Even the under funded Lamborghini SC63 project has 2 cars. I hope it's not like pic related where the factory support ends at the licensing agreement.
I'm also a tad nervous that if they crash too badly, we will have no Valkyrie. We used to have 4 Cadillacs until Bourdais crashed that one at Spa and we went over a year with replacing it in WEC.
>>
>>145755883
Yeah, that's fair. Going from 1,000 hp to what? About 650 hp? Cutting the rev limit seems like a pretty easy way to do that.
>>
>>145756028
I would have NOT thought of the head crab and crowbar. *
>>
>>145756028
>I'd expect at least 2 cars to have been made by now.
But there are two Valkyrie LMH cars, the one at Daytona was a new car.

Supposedly Toyota and Honda have a gentlemen's agreement to not compete with each other so as to prevent an arms race between the two. It's why Toyota has kept out of Indy and F1.
The only exception to this is arguably MotoGP, due to Yamaha being a loose subsidiary of Toyota.
>>
>>145755402
So Lambo is gonna run IMSA only next year? Or is Iron Lynx gonna run Mercs in GT3 but Lambos in Hypercar

All i want is the cars receiving the Name Black Mesa and Apperture, not from gaben but Aston Martin themselves feeling hopeful that they will really but the rigged BOP

In fact, someone should make those as a concept and send to them, have even the Black Mesa Car with HEV suit colors and Lambda with Aston Martin wings at the cockpit.
>>
>>145727708
If LMD's were as equally capable of winning the LMHs would be utterly irrelevant. Toyota spent millions lobbying for LMH, you think they'd take that sitting down? Especially now with Ferrari putting in the same sort of money as Toyota. The LMD's are given the occasional pity win, but don't expect them to ever be really competitive.
>>
>>145756075
>I don't really get the difference in all the drag classes.
The main ones they cover on TV are:
Top Fuel, the really long ones with the bicycle looking tiers
Funny Car , the long, closed wheel cars where the entire body shell hinges at the back with a gigantic rear wing.
Pro Stock, aka "door slammers" they have and extremely rough approximation of a production cars bodywork from any time between the late 1960s and today.
They also cover Pro Stock Motorcycles on TV. There are a dozen or so classes, but those are the main ones.
>>
>>145756234
>The LMD's are given the occasional pity win, but don't expect them to ever be really competitive.
They win on strategy and luck. If Toyota and Ferrari fuck it A Porsche might be "there or there abouts" and can pick up the win.

Don't shift the goalposts, the usual bs sentiment is that the agreement goes back to the 90s.
(also both coming back to F1, Toyota is rumored to test the waters with the HAAS tie in)
Toyota does not race in IMSA bc it doesnt have to.
>>
>>145757551
After this, I sincerely doubt we will see Jaguar in anything apart from the bankruptcy court.

It pretty much sounded painful at Donington with no mufflers already but I could believe maybe they were short shifting because it was a shakedown but that's evidently how they're running it and it's just pathetic. Sounds like somebody's running a V12 luxobarge around the track not a race car. I mean it's partly just because you're starting with a very strong 6.5L V12 but also the way the Hypermeme rules are structured with a mandatory power curve so you need power delivery as flat as turbo hybrids.

Whole thing is basically a joke and the last nail in the coffin of this whole stupid class that was supposed to be about bringing ebin hypercars to Le Mans and everyone wants to jerk off it finally happening but it's beaten with an ugly hammer and completely cuckolded to death to race in the fat slow LMP2 exhibition class.

They're gonna run Mercs in LMGT3 and rumours have been strongly suggesting that they're gonna pull out of WEC Hypermeme and only do IMSA next year
