Honestly, they could get rid of the CFP and just have a 12-team SEC playoff for the national champion, and there wouldn't be much of a difference.

Top 3 seeds are

1 seed: SEC Champion
2 seed: SEC Championship game loser
3 seed: Top SEC at large bid
4 seed: Top-ranked B10, B12, or ACC champion
5 seed - 11 seed: SEC at larges (If you run out of ranked SEC teams, then the B10, B12 or ACC champions that don't make it can be slotted in as needed.)
12 seed - Boise State
