>>97393092Halta has gone beyond how it was depicted in Scavenger Sons (for better and worse). I think Halta should be way smaller, but I'd still like it to be big, but also incorporate the size more into the lore besides from having a ridiculously large army.
>>97393117The literal book about Halta is a contender for the worst book in 1E, I'd say, and that one definitely shouldn't be taken as gospel. The fact is that Halta was originally presented as a bunch of guys living in trees and doing alright for themselves, which was cool and memorable, the kind of thing that wouldn't really work in the real world but fits Age of Sorrows Creation just fine. Then Kingdom of Halta decided, for absolutely no discernible reason, give Halta absolutely ridiculous population numbers, numbers completely out of scale with the rest of the East and with Halta's supposed arch-enemies, the Linowan. It was one of the dumbest writing decisions in the whole game's history. After that Halta's size obviously became the most notable thing about it, but in the worst possible way. People have been either complaining about or ridiculing Halta for a long, long time now, anon, and it might be a good thing to, you know, try and make it something other than a source of complaints and an object of ridicule. I think I said this before, but if you reduced all the numbers given for Halta - it's population, Chanta's population, it's geographical size - to one-tenth of what they were in 1E and 2E, you'd still be left with a large nation as far as Age of Sorrows is concerned, and one that's truly, extremely impressive considering its circumstances.
>>97393144>also incorporate the size more into the lore besides from having a ridiculously large armyIt literally is, though? That's why it goes on and on about agriculture and it's magical solutions to a bunch of problems, and why it talks about how it handles it's relations with the more-and-more clearly beastmen settlements out east, since it's claim stretches east without limits even into the Wyld, and about how it stretches over the lands of three separate fae courts and deals with icewalkers too. Halta is isolationist by intent, because it means it isn't a world power and doesn't have to deal with anything more distant than it's borders that doesn't come to it, but within that it's absolutely part of the lore. The Realm's involvement, it's trade and tourism, it even specifies every First Age ruin inside it's borders because those borders are more occupied and acknowledged than they are for most of the states around Creation that have trouble defending and controlling space beyond the city walls.
>>97393172>I think I said this before, but if you reduced all the numbers given for Halta - it's population, Chanta's population, it's geographical size - to one-tenth of what they were in 1E and 2E, you'd still be left with a large nation as far as Age of Sorrows is concerned, and one that's truly, extremely impressive considering its circumstances. You literally wouldn't, though? Reducing Chanta to a tenth takes it to 100k, which is half the size of Lookshy, itself a small state in the Scavenger Lands, which is full of relatively tiny states. Cities this size aren't uncommon. Whitewall and the Imperial City are both a similar size, and some cities like Nexus are bigger. Taking down Halta's total population across it's kingdom only makes it impressive compared to city-states.Compare it to the other sprawling empires we know about. The Blessed Isle's about the same size, and more populated, and significantly more wealthy, but it's also the world superpower and a special case. Sure.In Harborhead, Kirighast is bigger than Chanta at 1.5m. Harborhead's total population is smaller at 12 million people, but the satrapy is also much, much smaller. If you decimated Halta's population like you suggest, Chanta would not even be considered a major city. It's military is smaller at 500k, but Harborhead's fractured and that number's only considering the city-dwellers.
>>97393267Lookshy is a large city-state, anon. 109K is a large city in the Age of Sorrows - not one of the largest, but sgain, it's in the fucking trees. A city with 100000 inhabitants up in the trees is one hell of an achievement. Halta as a whole would still have a couple of million inhabitants, making it a large nation by most standards save for those of the Realm. I think that you considering a totsl population of, what, 2-3 million and a capital city of 100000 inhabitants unimpressive shows just how completrly the lsughably bloated numbers in Kingdom of Halta have fucked up your perspective. In a world with the technological level of Creation, those numbers would make for a fairly important regional power even if we were talking about a more conventional ground-dwelling civilization that has an easier time with agriculture and travel. For a tree-dwelling civilization those numbers are all the more impressive. For Chanta, specifically, 100K is pretty much exactly where I'd want its population to be - it'd be a major city, it'd obviously tske some suspension of disbelief to buy it, but in a world as magical as Creation I could manage that degree of suspension of disbelief.
Tabletop RPGs tend to split up crafting into a high number of crafting subskills for every individual area of expertise. There's no question that crafting is still extremely powerful despite forcing you to go through this hassle, but what are your thoughts on which particular crafting subskills tend to be the most useful in the context of a TTRPG campaign, be it a medieval or modern or sci-fi setting?Pic related is from Legend of the Five Rings, where I'll be playing a crafter soon, and I intend to invest heavily into crafting. I was diving in the archives and discovered this thing that /tg/ made a long time ago. Catgirls + an underwater world. It looks like the project withered away and everyone involved left this board ten or so years ago. So, how was it? Did it ever get off the ground?

Not just here but on other boards too, I've experienced this. It's eerie. You never know when it will be the last time you'll ever see a person, much like how they didn't know it would be the last time they post on /tg/ (or whatever other board).>You can actually copy out the art from the PDF and save it onto your machine by right clicking on the images. >>97392355Every few weeks I see something here that makes me glad I only got on this site when I entered college and was decently adjusted to socialization. I'm sure there's some cool people here too but honestly joining games seems like such a dice roll that it's not worth it.
Speaking of, are there any places to semi-reliably pick up a group for 40krpg's? IRL circle dissolved through the kung flu, and sites like Roll20 seem to be like sifting for corn in a river of shit.
>>97392491If there were, we wouldn't all be here complaining about it. We can't even play with each other, because clearly we all have different ideas of how a good game should be run.
I need some help with the details of a game I'm planning. Tzeentch, got bored and decided to mess with some noble that collects art. After messing with his head through nightmares about his family selling his stuff after he dies the noble gets terrified about what will happen to his collection and decides the best way to keep it safe forever is to find someone who will care about it as much as he does. At a party he over hears someone from a different world talk about how Trazyn the Infinite stole some relics from their estate. Thinking that Trazyn is a collector like himself the noble decides to find him and donate his collection so it will stay safe from his family. That's a quick summery of what I want to start with. Ignoring the ordeal of getting to him and the shock of finding out that Trazyn is a Necron, what would Trazyn do if the noble actually got to him and showed off his large collection of art? And what would he want to keep? Is there a particular kind of human artifact he would be interested in? Rarity, age, what would he care about?
>>97392355AGP was an incredibly long-running greentext saga about a party of Dark Heresy players who were all former Imperial Guard, the Hammer of the Emperor, and thus treated every inquisitorial problem like a nail. In fairness, this usually got them out of as much trouble as it got them into.

Not instant snap decisions but noone thinks about his turn for more than 20 seconds. The game is really fun that way. Then I played it with a different, more competitive crowd and the game was agonizingly slow and exhausting, and overall soured me on the design. Sure, you can say it's the players fault and the game wants to be played in a certain way, but I can't tell from just looking at it. Eg. Agricola would be shit if everbody just wings it.Really, your milage may vary and tbis variance in experience is inherent to most mid-heavy games, but really, just give me a comment box in the rules or something so I know how to set the tone and get the best experience.

And no one who is pro-choice believes that human life has inherent value. If they did they wouldn't believe that unborn children's lives mattered less than the mother's convenience.Being pro-choice is BASED because it REMOVES potential Gohans from the GENE POOL. If those embryos wanted to survive, they should have been prepared to FIGHT for their LIVES in the WOMBT>he greater and perhaps more frightening implication is that "life" is merely sophistry in the grand scheme of the universe. You are, in essence, just a collection of atoms and molecules within a sea of atoms and molecules. BASED>Life itself has no inherent value and neither does any action you take. BASED>The concept of "death" does not exist. BASED>There is no such thing as death. BASED>A person doesn't die, after all. Their atoms, their molecules, they all still exist. All that's truly real is change. When you die, you cease to be what you were and disperse back into the cosmic sea of atoms to become something else instead. What sets life and humanity apart is self-awareness. BASED
>Humanity is not innately apart from the universe; we are as much a component of it as everything else. We are all made of exactly the same substances that the rest of the universe is. There is honestly nothing but scientific distinction that separates "a person" from the air molecules touching their skin. And yet humans are, as far as we are aware, the only component in existence capable of observing the universe objectively. We are the universe staring back at itself and realizing what it is. In absence of God or religious notions, the value of humanity is unfathomable because we are the stirrings of the cosmos itself awakening to self-awareness. We are atoms that know we are atoms and the implications of that, as the only observable beings which are ourselves part of a universe that is otherwise seemingly dead and unthinking, is incomprehensible.BASED, BASED, BASED. I know that on death, Uratha turn back into human form and all their werewolf-remains vanish. But I wonder if she was still alive and kept prisoner, could her claws and fangs be used? Her pelt still worn as cladding etc? Pic related would make for a very novel weapon for the Abbey to harvest (if they can just keep the damn werewolf contained). I can picture this ritualised event where the Abbey treat Duncan as a proxy for his father, splashing him with werewolf blood and layering the pelt on him as an honorific. I'll have to give it some thought, I don't want this idea to just come out of nowhere. If I do decide to go with the accidental Werewolf (Skindancers need 5 pelts or something but whatever), it'd need foreshadowing and buildup, not just a random bad-end.
