I haven't watched any limited coverage yet, but I had that exact fear once I started looking through the set with limited in mind. It seems like Kithkin and Goblins are going to require a lot of anchors in the deck to give you a fighting chance against the other tribes, and Elementals really want you to either pull a bunch of rares/mythics or at least be able to run a bunch of hybrid cards that cross paths with blue or red. Everything else looks either half-baked or mediocre compared to Elves and Merfolk.

What fascinates me is that green has only has a handful of options for colorfixing, with only red and blue getting one landcycling ability EACH, when the only 3+ color cards in the set are Abzan and Sultai, which means most decks probably won't be able to get 3+ off vivid at least half the time. Ironically, your best bet for vivid will probably be tokens made by monocolored cards since they always have their tribe's color identity.

I haven't cared about MTG in the better part of a decade at this point, but from memory the competitive constructed rule of thumb with cards that cost >=4 is that they have to do at least one of several things to be viable:
- be resistant to removal (e.g. hexproof)
- does something useful the turn it hits the field (e.g. haste)
- do something useful even if removed (bloodbraid elf was the posterchild for this back in my time)
- wins the game on the spot if it sticks for a turn

This card does none of those, and thus probably sucks in competitive constructed. A 6/6 that can be chump blocked or removed by a wide range of removal isn't winning the game reliably, and its ability to generate card advantage requires that you already have gas in the tank in the form of other creatures in hand (and your opponent have no removal) which means that IMO it qualifies as a win-more card. I would expect that this would only see play if the lineup of high CMC finishers is so dogshit that any undercosted beefy body is competitive.

Also if you're the defending king always put your king in one of the two squares in front of his pawn when you can, when that's not possible, move it to the side to match his king's movement. You can do things different but when you've seconds on the clock you want simple rules. It's very painful to lose a clearly drawn k vs p ending.

The "is only an adult at 110-something" from D&D is cultural. Not physical. They are already physically adults at 20.

>>
>>97358773
Even in DnD, elves physically mature at ~20, same pace as humans. It's only that they're considered immature and childish by the elves who are centuries old and so in elven society, you're considered a child until you become a centenarian, and you're referred with your "child name" until that point.

20 year old elves are as physically and mentally mature as 20 year old humans.

Do you include seasonal changes in your campaigns when time goes by?

If so, what do you implement int the world to showcase the changing seasons?

I personally include sea raiders who begin assaults on the kingdom's shores in spring and through summer, who then return to their homeland in fall to winter it out. So essentially a raiding season for my world's vikings, like in real history.

STRICT TIME RECORDS MUST BE KEPT!

but yeah, if you're of the mindset where D&D is more like a novel or film, you can do a "6 months later..." transition, cool. although i might get annoyed if it's just for the sake of "now we're doing a WINTER adventure!" like the world's natural order is just a dial being flicked around at random.

I used to roll up planets with GURPS Space for fun, and even the marginally habitable ones were absolute hellworlds.
I can't find my notes right now, but one was basically only liveable at the equator and it was so hot (water planet with primitive algae producing oxygen) and the axial tilt so massive that any change of seasons would probably bring insane storms. I figured the inhabitants would probably live in above ground bunkers you could raise with hydraulics in case of flooding

Seeing space marines without big shoulder pads and stompy boots makes me irrationally angry
>>
>>97360601
The most anoying part is not just the armour design, is the absolutely lack of care for the SM concept, and the prostitution of the brand adding more and more slightly different marine types with overlapping roles.
Regular marines are the universal soldiers, they should be able to do almost everything in a decent way.
Now there are 3+ types of phobos plus original scouts. God knows how many different types of range marines all with the same gun like eldars, as many heavy and jetpack marines plus terminators.
The bloat is endless.
>>
>>97360810
I think the Primaspect Warrior approach is too deeply embedded to go away by this point but at least GW seems to be slowly reintroducing/refreshing the pre-Primaris elements of the army, I wouldn't be surprised if we see new Tactical and Devastator squads in the near-ish future. If those get updated the range will have everything you need to make an old-style Marine army with entirely new/current units.

I'm really not looking forwards to the Rhino chassis vehicles being inevitably squatted though, they look miles better than their Primaris replacements.

Couldn't follow the discussion anymore, so try to summarize my impression.

A Fantasy game is supposed to embrace the fantastical (things which do not follow logic, are not understandable or are not "logically" possible)

Magic is "supposed" to be fantastical but needs to be codified in order to make a playable game. Thats why so many people try -and fail- to make an obscure magic system. (Just use vancian magic)
Miracles / Warlock do not use magic per se, but let a fantastical beeing do the lifting
Engineers are not fantastical. It follows mathematic formulas. A grenade is perfectly mundane, even if it is functionally identical to wizzard casting fireball (do xd6 damage in a y tile radius)

Mystery/Supernatural as a genre plays in a mundane world but get's "disturbed" by the fantastical
If magic follows logic perfectly and is therefore "mundane" in that setting, we have magitech.

People playing a genre of game but bringing in elements from a different genre should stop beeing confused why no-one likes their setting.

Also dnd is crap and an unholy amalgomation of too many genres.

Anyone have the v2 version of Harrowshade? aka Harrowshade Remastered?

Why can't Druids wield bows?

>bow: wood
>arrow: wood
>arrowhead: bone or flint

Even crossbows can be made wholly of wood and shoot bone-tipped bolts. If anything, making these things actually requires very good understanding of trees and properties of wood.
Regardless of all that, the whole non-metal theme is a meme. If you can cook stuff in a bronze cauldron, you should be allowed to use a bronze helmet too.

Well traditionally bows are hunting weapons. A druid of races with natural affinity for bows can use them. Crossbows were weapons of war. The metal restriction is/was for armor and shields. They were going for a theme.

>Why should I homebrew?
/tg/ products are fairly unique in that it's actually pretty simple to make them these days, with a plethora of products to assist in making and playtesting your game. Making your own games helps understand why games are made the way they are, as well as being fun to do.

>What you should post
Ideas for games, games you're currently making, updates to your own games in broad strokes, and any homebrewing for existing products that don't get much attention. Discussion about the above is welcome. Post good, be good, and look over others products, they care if someone looks more than anything.

>This thread is like if Chris Chan made a card game instead of a comic.
You're making it sound based.

>So OP, how long HAVE you been iterating this card game?
around 5 years. i started it shortly after my exposure to the culture war, which was around 2019. the game at this point shares very little with the first iteration. the main thing it still shares is that it uses memes for pictures, but that's about it. that's also another reason the name has changed, because it's a different game. i have also changed a lot over those 5 years, unrecognizably in some areas. i'd hope that most people who been on this ride since normie season ended 2015ish (w/ trump) have also changed a lot.

>You are mad somebody is making something
I've made my stance pretty clear, I'm here to observe the insanity of OP, and to make him prove his game is getting the traction it has according to the posts of people getting boxes.
>I showed you the screenshot, Wilbur.
Who? You're not trying to imply I'm some hater you know irl, are you? That'd be so sad and hilarious at the same time.
>Ugly boy.
Man, calling out OP's bullshit really is making you mad. Now in addition to my belief that literally no one wants this game (you included according to later posts lol), he also got his mom to come defend him on the Finnish ice fishing forum.
Stay seething, I'll keep dropping in when I'm bored and need a chuckle.
