The daimyo doesnt show up until 3053 and its only value is cheap C3 which none of those have. The Raven is the weakest pick out of them and most unlikely for salvage because even though the Feddies had them after the 4th SW they werent in that big of numbers.

I love it if it's boring repetitive shit that gets automated away. Have to draw 2 cards every turn? Fuck that, do that automatically when it becomes my turn. Have to manually discard my gold tokens when I buy something? No way, give me a buy button that does that and adds the item to my tableau. Scripting saves me literal hours a week when playing some games, it adds up really fast. The less clicking around I have to do, the better. I don't mind moving pawns myself though.

This is my heavier game section, where over the past year and the half I have been grinding down higher complexity games in favor of more accessible ones. I'm contemplating culling Wingspan in favor of SETI, but it, Nusfjord, Wondrous Creatures, CoB and GAH are the ones with the decent theme for the mixed crowd that can be played in both 2 and 3 players.

I already culled things like
> Lost Ruins of Arnak
> Marco Polo II
> Ark Nova
> Great Western Trail
> Dune: Imperium
> Gaia Project
> Brass: Brimingham
> Through the Ages
> Caverna
> Cyclades

tl;dr - I'm looking for something without brutal take that that wont have dominant strategy which will tunnel vision the crowd emerge (i.e. Arnak got culled because it boiled down to everyone racing on research track).
>>
>>97247149
Alternatively, culling CoB and moving Nusfjord there by rotating it would free up the required slot as well hmm.
>>
>>97247118
Ngl to me Id rather just be playing vidya at that point

>>97247149
This is good shit anon..be proud of this collection and seti for wingspan is more than reasonable in that kind of vibe. Very good shit

This is a second OSRG, seperate from the main osrg thread, where you CAN talk about 2e, retroclones, and any osr content you want.
This is different than the regular osrg as due to rampant trolling from a handful of bad actors, discussion is impossible.

Are you dense? I'm talking about the solo intro adventure, with Bargle the wizard, not the rules section.

Hello, so I just recently entered the world of roleplaying (i'm a zoomer in the third world, this is very niche) and I decided to run OSE, specifically, keep on the borderlands, to a couple of friends, one which never played any ttrpg before (I just played a couple times actually).
It's all fun, I decided to start the adventure at level 3 because of the high lethality of old modules and the fact that clerics and mages without spells are a bore. It might be controversial but also I don't want my characters dying, they won't learn much by instantly dying off at the first trap. They are noobs used to fortnite, remember.
Anyways, I just wanted to say that, we are having fun roleplaying and throwing dice and I think that's the important part.
But I have a couple of questions, first off, how compatible are 2e modules to OSE? And I also wanted to get some good sandbox module recommendations, officials or not, i've checking the Isle of dread but that honestly looks boring despite the freedom it gives you, what's the bad evil guy? A couple snake men?
Also is it just me or are 2e adventure modules all linear railroads? All the sandbox modules I find are either indie or TSR classic.
Can you recommend me any ravenloft or dark sun campaign book that is full sandbox or there aren't any? I love those settings by the looks of them.
>>
>>97245637
they're compatible other than any missing monsters/spells and so on
most 2e adventures are linear because the culture shift towards storyfagging had already happened, hence why story xp is the default
>>
>>97245637
Aren't the campaign setting books basically gigantic sandbox modules?
>>

I recommend checking out ASKS.
You can borrow the mortal wound mechanics, a great balance between the superhero-like invulnerability of 5e and the sudden mortality of typical OSR. Even if ASKS isn't your thing as a system and you prefer OSE, it can still be a good toolbox from which you can borrow mechanics as needed.
Also, the Judge's Journal; the first chapter is system-neutral and offers very valuable advice on running game, such as how to balance character skills and player skills.
The B series is an excellent choice. Although, if you happen to like ASKS and don't mind a late antique setting instead of the typical medieval one, I highly recommend the AX1-6 series. Conceptually, it's like a Keep in borderland, but way bigger, since it covers 48,000 square miles region in a sandbox-friendly format (England, for comparison, is 50,000 square miles).

Every time I've seen players do something like that, they've ended up hinging their entire plan on a questionable assumption that the DM didn't agree with, which ended up bringing the entire plan down when it didn't work. Somewhat ironic, really, given the conceit that the DM might try to make the plan fail if he knew what it was in advance.

>party member wanted to free a pit fiend [we've been calling him / them demon hitlers for the funny.]
>a pit fiend who was imprisoned for the crimes of attempting planet-wide free will erasure and has a habit of following the letter but not the spirit of the contracts (classic.)
>I repeatedly in character talk about how we shouldn't be making deals with something like this, were already on an apocalypse saving quest etc.
>Well, if you're going to continue down this path
>I banish one of the party members and gang up on another with another party character
the one that got banished got brought back, unleashed THREE demon hilters, the one that didn't got killed, we saved his body, we brought him back and now he's "unsure if he wants to keep him around" (for the game.) and his character motivation seems pretty fucking intent on payback. He's also the one who's spent most of his time pushing the agenda it was my fault.

Oy.

You're the one here taking "I like this" as "this other thing is shit". Quit being a fucktard, and quit trying to promise the moon and stars in a system that hasn't even hit its stride yet. I never attacked IM, but your shitheaded attempt at a defense of it makes it mighty tempting to catalyze a more negative opinion.
Your very reaching attempted justification for the ammo thing is noted and discarded.

>I never attacked IM
Nice backpedaling.
>>
>>97246985
I said "IM works."
You said "You are biased against it because you played this other thing" and then ignored the implications of that statement.
You yourself have admitted a bias against Rogue Trader specifically -
>>97243795
>personally I think RT sucks ass
which is what I assume this entire pile of shitfuckery is really about, because you can't stand that somebody on the internet likes something that you don't.
But never mind that, anon. Fine. You win the pointless argument. I now hate IM and think it's a steaming pile of garbage. Go give yourself a nice handjob as a reward for all your hard work.
>>
>>97247031
I truly don't care who likes which RPG in these threads. My whole point has been that if no one here wants to accept something new and stick to their obsession with FFG, this general will continue it's crawl to a slow death. I myself stopped coming here because discussion about the new systems was impossible, the regulars would ignore or outright shit on WANG/IM posts (one of those deservedly, tbf), and any new blood who played those systems would be steered away because of this. Enjoy what you enjoy, but change can be good too.

Agreed, gf got me some night gobs for christmas but theyre the AoS line. On the one hand those new squig hopper sculpts will have a lot more breathing room compared to trying to squeeze them on a 20, but on the other hand blackfire pass era night gobs look goofy on 25s, theyre so spaced out from each other, so im not really sure which way I should go with them
>>
>>97246509
I can’t decide for you but I just decided to base everything on old sizes, I’ve got way too many armies to rebase for an edition change.
No one I play with seems to care.

Anyway iv got a game today on that note. 2k tow vampire coast(tomb kings mort cult) fight a chaos nurgle warhorst for forbidden booty.
>>
>>97246509
Maybe get some movement tray adapter for the infantry goblins, because yeah skull pass goblins on 25s would look really bad imho, and it's a lot of work to rebase them. I always did feel that many units towards late wfb had outgrown their base size, but between effort going into rebasing and the fact that they do kind of technically invalidate your army for older editions idk myself

Each of the bosses is, more or less, a tiny fragment of the demiurge. When they enter the campaign they begin influencing reality around them. The Knight existing in potentia makes everything slightly more Knightly even before he appears.
Besides, stone age knights jousting on war-ostriches with bone armor is sick as fuck. Which should already be enough to recommend it.

There are barely even any rules in the dmg. It's mostly (bad) (non)advice and lists of things.

I would cut OP some slack if he were talking about the way some books are poorly laid out and all the rules you need end up haphazardly sprinkled throughout the entire book with no quick ref and poor formatting so it's a pain in the ass to find the rules when you need them. But that's not what this is about. It's about OP being a dumb faggot who is intimidated by middle school-level writing for the games he claims he wants to play.

If I bring all the relevant books every time I have a session, why would players buy their own books unless they were running their own sessions?

GURPS is a modular, adaptable system, capable of running a wide range of characters, settings, and play styles, with a level of detail varying from lightweight to completely autistic.
Optional rules allow you to emulate different genres with a single system, or even switch genres within a single game.

A nearly complete archive of GURPS books can be found by using the image. Never post direct links to the archive anywhere in plain text.

If you're wondering where to start:
- The Basic Set covers everything, including a lot of optional rules you probably won't use.
- A genre guide can be found in the archive, under Unofficial/GURPSgen. It tells you what extra books and articles you may find useful for many common genres.
- How To Be a GURPS GM is a good read even for players.
- GCS (gurpscharactersheet.com) is an excellent character-builder software, with page references to all the books and the option to export to both Foundry and Fantasy Grounds.

Thread question: How often do you use an official GURPS setting? Which are your favorites?

I don't want to wait for 2026, I want Revised GURPS now! I need to know what we're naming "s-word mentality".

and c***s in armor

Two quick:
1) how to account for certain factions being better at certain subjects? E.g. the science guys are usually good at engineering or hacking, so they should be able to e.g. purchase the exact same hacking skill at a cheaper point cost. Is it a good system?
2) Is there any system that splits between:
Actual HP - represents actual damage, heals as long as it needs to
Long HP - stun points, but takes days or week sto regenerate
Short HP - stun points, but takes minutes or hours to regenerate

I'm the most excited for gender neutral pronouns throughout. A lot of my friends were put off by the book using gendered language like "his" and "she," and they're all SUPER excited for this very forward-thinking and progressive change.

My girlfriend is trans and it's going to be refreshing to know i will no longer have to explain to her whenever there's something offensive on GURPS it is due to the age of the book, and the backwards mentality of people at the time.
