>Black Legion no longer hard into Chaos worship, Abaddon sees himself as not a slave and is disdainful of the religious
>Iron Warriors see relying on the Dark Gods as a weakness
>Night Lords are edgy atheists
>Emperor's Children don't care about Slaanesh specifically really, are just concerned with pleasuring themselves and being freaky. Fabius actively hates Chaos
>Thousand Sons hate Tzeentch for fucking them and try to fuck him over when they can
>Alpha Legion retconned to basically never having been religious at all
>World Eaters are crazy and barely verbal anymore
>Red Corsairs see relying on Dark Gods as weak and now have a whole cadre of troops that are "free" of Chaos influence
>Only Word Bearers and Death Guard seem to actually venerate the Chaos Gods
Why are so few CSM actually religious anymore? Back in the day even your average Alpha Legion boy would be all FOR THE DARK GODS

the situation with cauldron in eternal formats is similar to birthing pod: the synergy potential is insane but if your opponent answers either part of the synergy (the creature or the artifact) you kinda just don't do anything meaningful until you can assemble them again

cards like cauldron want the game to go long so you can make the most out of everything it offers, and if you're the one trying to slow things down, it's very likely you're not the oppressive deck in the format

Let's try it again edition

If you don't purpose build terrain for each game, you never beat the game.
>>
>>97387482
Mostly true, but also if you built a nice set of "European Countryside in Summer" terrain it works with 90% of games you will ever play, and then you can custom make a few specialty pieces for individual games
>>
>Does terrain plays an important role in your games or you use whatever table and makeshift available to build it?

I think terrain is extremely important but don't have the time or patiences right now to make full fledge battlefields with unique terrain for scenarios and all that. But terrain and painted miniatures (even poorly painted) make the game 100% more enjoyable.

>>97387540
yeah it will do okay, very good for a beginner, it has a bit of complexity but I am sure the people there can help with any of the more challenging effects.
if you can get a second copy of it so you get x4 of all the cards in it (as some are only x2, you only need x2 of some of them though!) you will be pretty much set to play a competitive meta deck
its a very competent deck on its own just 1 copy and the provided build isn't ideal but half the fun is figuring out what the good cards are and the ones you like.

hope you have a good time anon!

I suck at writing and I am an ESL :(
>Lore
You need to "understand" your opponent by assimilating their thoughts into yourself. You can "manifest" creautures of emotions, sins etc that need to grow stronger with the help of other manifestations or thank to your own will (aka spells), if it's stronger than the enemy, you can absord the opposing manifestations
Gameplay: Seems unique, a bit like pokemon you start with your first manifestation on the board (mulligan if you dont find it in your hand)
You cannont cast any more first manifestations if one is already on your side of the board, but you can cast support manifestations and spells, when both players pass the bigger manifestations win and the winner get all the opponent manifestations on the board as victory points, meanwhile he can choose if to add his own victorious manifestation in a special zone (basically a second hand) so he can play those when he want, or under your deck.
The game end when there are no more manifestations, the player with more VP win.
>Deckbuilding
30 cards, no duplicate, and 500 points you can use on manifestations, you need to strike a balance between first manifestations (when they end you lose), support ones and spells.
>Resources
You can discard cards as resources to cast other cards, there colors like mtg (blue was divided in two, which is fantastic imo)

I wonder if picking up a copy of the Monsters! artbook now still nets me the Great Beast promo card, since it was exclusive to the first edition but still shows up in the specific one I'm looking at. I should ask the seller. Card's sadly a lot cooler than the Cthulhu promo too, despite the nice effects on it that one is a very bog standard pop rendition of the guy and I'd have liked something more in line with the book. I'll probably pick up a box of Dinosaurs late this year if the cards are on the same level of quality.

The area marked on that map would still make Halta one of the larger countries. Cutting its population down to 10% of 1E/2E numbers would still leave it one of the larger nations population-wise, too - not one of the absolute largest, but large by Age of Sorrows standards.
>>
>>97386971
I'd say it's more medium size. It should at least be a little bigger than Iscomay.
>>
>>97387006
It's definitely more than medium size in a world mostly consisting of city-states and petty kingdoms. Why does Halta need to be larger than Iscomay, though? Iscomay's one of the larger and more powerful nations, too, a significant regional power, not a run-of-the-mill Threshold kingdom.
>>
>>97374106
our DM does the opposite. the pace is so fast that we all have a bunch of exp we "cant" spend because of training time. its hilarious, we are all grinding away on training charms just to compensate.
>>
>>97374246
so halta is effectively fractured.......like china was most of its existence.

How would you humanize enemy mooks even if the players have to put them down at the end of day? How do you make it so that players leaving piles of corpses in their wake is not a trivial matter?

I've always wanted to see a Lord of the Rings story that takes place after the War of the Ring has concluded. A band of a half-dozen Orcs and two Goblin Warg-Riders from Mordor fleeing in the wake of Gondor and Rohirrim entering it, because they don't want to be wiped out (whether or not the Men actually intend to do this isn't clarified).

These Orcs are still evil, to be clear. But we'd basically follow a sort of reverse-Fellowship as they travel from Mordor north, to Dol Guldur, because they're chasing rumors that Dol Guldur hasn't fallen, is holding out in the wake of Sauron's defeat.

And the point would be to show that while they're evil, it's because they were shaped to it, not born to it. And it doesn't consume their every waking moment. We get moments of camaraderie, of humor, genuine friendship between the Goblins and their Wargs (who, remember, can speak) and of course the entire journey is one of desperate hope.

Of course this being a tragedy, as they near Dol Guldur they'd come across an Orc fleeing from it - it's fallen to the Dwarves. Dwarves to the north, Men following from the south, this band of Orcs trapped in the middle.

So the story concludes with them deciding to make a last stand against the Dwarves and Men, preferably at some historically significant ruin. And the final chapter is the battle in which they fall, one by one, while we also see them working together, defending each other, being aggrieved when one of them falls because they knew them...essentially everything that would go into a last stand if the characters were Men or Elves or Dwarves, it's just that instead we're following Orcs and Goblins and Wargs.

They probably take up a song during the whole thing, something Orcish, something about battle that's nevertheless also somehow about the pointlessness of it all. Something tired.

The last surviving Orc, run through by a sword, manages to finish the song.

"It's done."

What are things you do that are "not" canon in the mini painting meta?
Mine is picrel
>Prime the sprue
Much easier for me to spray prime on a 2d "sheet" of sprue than a 3d mini. I just scrape off the paint to glue the pieces. Mould lines are scraped off. I dont re prime over them since they're just thin lines.
>Prime white for black
Pic rel will be my Black Templars, and I always prime white to paint black, that way my eyes know where exactly I've painted.

And about you guys? Anything unsusual with how you do things?
>>
>>97387438
>I dont re prime over them since they're just thin lines.
Anon, that's just gross.
I don't think you're saving any time or effort because you have to scrape off the primer to glue the models. Also impossible to do gap filling and the like.

Great rage bait. 10/10 would rage again.
>>
>>97385602

what exactly is the difference between realistic and fantasy? the lord of the rings movies were made with real people and real costumes, but it was a fantasy movie. even if you are painting a fantasy creature like a dragon or a tyranid are you not imagining "what would this look like if it was real?" when you are painting it? I think you are confusing realistic style with illustrated or comic book style.

This is easy to see if you compare Pathfinder Chronicles (3.5) with Lost Omens (PF2E) .
Almost every evil organization in old Pathfinder spent engaged in either slavery or torture, usually both. In Lost Omens it has been effectively been removed from the setting

Now let's be entirely fair, anyone who has played has heard of them because they include their quirky OC steel doughnuts in adventure paths and force them on the players regardless of player preference or input.

100k is probably the retail value of the packs. So roughly 700 boxes. Not counting specialty boosters the box retail at Walmart seems to be about $55 which puts it at $38,500. So if they sell them to a scalper for $40 per box that nets them $28,000; assuming a 4 way split that's $7000 each. Which doesn't sound like much but it means you only need 10 robberies a year to hit the median single income in the USA.

Brown.

Prompted me to check though and that before the goblin green bases with plain goblin green brushed sand/flock topping for everything era, base rims seemed to be largely just complimentary to what was on top. So a lot of brown bases. Some black rim bases, some green rims sometimes quite dark green.
Quite a lot of variety in bases that got smushed out by the goblin green standardisation.

What age is it appropriate to let children open booster packs? In America, gambling is restricted to people 21 and over. Buying booster packs of Pokemon, Yugioh, etc however, all unrestricted.

I'd say over 500 years old (legally verified) should be OK. Same for gachaslop.
>>
>>97380251
Opening booster packs is only gambling in the minds of faggots who think you must always play the most optimal strategies and that the only thing of worth in a game is the monetary or competitive value of the cards. Little Timmy wants to look at cool monsters, strong warriors, and wondrous vistas and learn to play a game that features them.
If you think of boosters as gambling, then it's because you don't value the low-power experience and only care about chase cards. Kids don't often have that conception of their games and instead just enjoy opening the packs to see what they get. Do you have any concept of the wonder I felt as a child when my grandparents would buy me stray packs of Yugioh or Pokemon cards? I had no idea how to play the games properly, but I appreciated them nonetheless and was happy to receive them. I eventually learned how to play them and several other games, but I still have fond memories of cracking the packs and the value of the cards didn't enter into the equation for me.
>>
>>97387630
We know you're just interested in grooming children into believing gambling is natural and OK.
