>>97190058Honestly anon. One of the flaws of conventional masculinity is the actual desire for weakness so long as it's in the woman. Since I was very young the terms were very clear to me.>You MUST make le high income to le PROVIDE>You MUST get le big and strong to PROTECT>You MUST go out of your way to learn every sexual technique to PLEASE.All fine if it went both ways. You want to do your best and become your best, but when it's time for your mate, your EQUAL PARTNER (allegedly) it's >duh she's the woman she can be as fat as she wants>duh she's the woman she don't need no job, degree, or even a source of income she takes it from (you).>duh she's the woman can walk into the ghetto whenever she wants alone.>duh she's the woman she can be a whore whenever she wants and lay on her back the whole time.>buh she's got to wear makeup bro! it's so hard.Fuck that. Thread #01 Winter Wonderland.Welcome to /un0/, an RP thread for playing a World of Darkness/Chronicles of Darkness Hunter. For any OOC questions about WoD/CofD, check the official general. >>97089644Rules:>We are acephale. There is no storyteller, we are not a quest. >This thread is based primarily but not exclusively in the nWoD/CofD game Hunter: the Vigil. However, Vigil is defined by being highly setting agnostic, with a system for creating entirely custom monsters that do not exist in other WoD/CofD games. Thus, you have significant freedom in what you want to play and what you want to hunt. Feel free to play a member of the Society of Leopold, or a member of the Lucifuge hot on the tail of a Lasombra. >Namefagging is encouraged but by no means mandatory. >Keep in mind that even highly experienced Hunters typically only have fractured pieces of the puzzle, and every table has their own canon. The night is dark and full of misinformation.>/un0/ is conceived of as an experimental end to end encrypted program that is very hard to compromise, retains very little data and purges that data regularly. Please play an actual Hunter. >Spoiler any OOC discussion.Happy hunting.

>>97210948Napoleonic style line warfare doesn't work with most fantasy settings, due to existence in most of them of more precise substitutes for artillery and line breaking units. You can't really have anything close to Napoleonic style warfare when the other side can put a wizard with Fireball on the field.
>>97211873Modelling wise? Absolutely. If you check out any reviews on historical miniatures any guy worth his salt is going to be going into some autistic details over what is done right and wrong. Sometimes getting into arguments with commenters over historical accuracy of their claims. With sources. Rules wise it is much more relaxed.
>>97212059I love MFZ for the idea, but the implementation fucking sucks. You'd think building around Lego sets you would see some serious mech creation rules that reward you for going out of your way in designing some fun miniatures instead you get anemic rules right romp that is at best good for introduction into wargaming and then forgotten.

This is a second OSRG, seperate from the main osrg thread, where you CAN talk about 2e, retroclones, and any osr content you want. This is different than the regular osrg as due to rampant trolling from a handful of bad actors, discussion is impossible.

>>97215565The Item compendiums are such a weird relic of a different time. They wouldn't just list the item, they'd also say which adventure they came from, for what I can only assume is so that a DM who wanted to implement a particular item could purchase that adventure and have their players stumble upon it, because the idea of just dropping an item into a campaign would be too much of a stretch of the imagination.
>>972142973.0 had tons of content made for it because it was popular, not because thr system was special.
I feel like this edition has alot of objectively bad things about it and is absolutely where the alot of worst qualities of current editions showed up. But I feel like I prefer playing this edition compared to a lot of previous editions and 10th edition. Its a weird transitional period where there's still a lot of the old units that haven't been legended yet while still having the fucking Primaris lot. Its strange but I don't feel like I'm missing out on much staying on this edition and playing with friends casually instead of going back to playing the current edition.
>>97217336>most codices got significantly streamlined in terms of wargearIt's crazy how wargear went from pages and pages of all sorts of gear straight into "pick from these five weapons". Probably one of the first and worst examples of straight shitting up any fun for the sake of balance.
>>97217342In hindsight it makes me glad that Orks got a 4th edition Codex. We complained about not getting an update for years, but we had no idea how lucky we were that GW was ignoring us.
>>972173025th started adding "problematic" rules that attracts waac faggots and its codexes were shit, broken or both. 3rd is fine, but 4th is essentially "3rd but better" (it's literally the same system but with the Chapter Approved changes baked in, and those were pretty good).

Welcome to the Old School Renaissance General, the thread dedicated to first-decade, Gygaxian D&D, its faithful modern clones, and content created for use with them. Later editions (2e and newer) should be discussed elsewhere.Broadly, OSR games encourage a tonal and mechanical fidelity to Dungeons & Dragons played as intended by its creators from 1974 to 1983 — less emphasis on linear adventures and overarching metaplots and a greater emphasis on player agency. If you are new to the OSR, welcome! Ask us whatever you're curious about: we'll be happy to help you get started. >>97217193Well the idea is you have limits on what you can do. So the players have choose what they should do first or what should the not bother with. If it's feels like their only one thing to do it might get bland, however if you have to choose on taking out a goblin nest, or bandit camp. The other problem might get bigger later or might get away and you might need to hunt for them harder than when you knew the area they're currently holed up at.Also, the special shops don't have to be shops but more of this guy can help you make a +2 magic sword. Or a old wizard that skilled in a magic you want to learn that might teach you. Stuff like that, maybe they make you hunt for items or prove you worth teaching. However at the end of the day. Think of games like Skyrim, BOTW/TOTK, etc. Don't make it one or two paths. Just leave hook everywhere and when the players grab one start focusing on that. Maybe have one or two going on in the background so when they do pick that it's not the same level 1 bandit camp and all.
Currently reading the OSRIC 3 player's guide and the Monk looks like a completely mess until you realize it's completely fixed by returning the Monk minimum score requirements to STR 15, DEX 15, WIS 15 and CON 11.Not bad Finch. Not bad.
>>97217234Shouldn't have to "fix" anything. I want OSRIC to be an AD&D retroclone, not interested in Matt's House Rules or having to go through the rulebook looking for what I need to undo to actually play AD&D. Those changes are a deal breaker for me.
>>97217287Can't happen. Lawyer shit.
>>97217349>Can't happen. Lawyer shit.Nah, that's bullshit. OSE-Classic didn't have to make any changes at all.And the changes Finch has made to the Monk are to "fix" it because he thinks it's too powerful and difficult to qualify for, he's said as much in interviews and even in the OSRIC 3 rulebook. He didn't have to change the Paladin, Ranger, Druid, or Assassin, so there's no legal reason why he would have had to change the Monk.

One day when I was a child, my mom arbitrarily decided that I was too old to be playing with action figures. She rounded up all the toys and made me sell them at a garage sale. Because I had so many though, some managed to escape her sweep.Yesterday I was visiting my brother for our family's Christmas get together and his wife tells me that they stumbled across a bin of old toys. I was shown the bin and recognized them all. The survivors from childhood that escaped the purge. This picture is of a few of those toys, 2 of which are relevant to here. Battletech survived the purge.

Sovl=boxnaughtCuck chair=diaper dread, generalsDiaper dread was the biggest mistake of 40k. Literally made me quit the game. I remember seeing the 2nd ed metal box dread with its bamner and it was pure undiluted sovl. Made me join the game. Some cuckoldry was afoot when they deleted the banner in 3rd. Dread with marine head introduced the bull to us. Venerable dread was the cuck chair in the corner, and diaper dread is asking your wife's boyfriend for a new switch game in exchange for good boy points.
>>97212578That guy is either larping as an oldfag or is an actual retard. With the current state of the internet the way this place works is a relic of the past, generals or not. We either need actually active moderation(won't happen) or a way to filter at least some of the bots and shitposters, like obligatory e-mail verification or something, anything. There's no way to actually ban people because of phones and dynamic IPs. Even creating a throwaway email takes a little bit of effort though which might deter at least some of the garbage
>>97212706I’m thinking retard, because without Generals it would be virtually impossible to have a diverse range of threads as most well intentioned OPs would be blasted straight to page 10. Why did 5.5e drop the ball so hard? Everyone I know who likes 5e is staying with 5.0e. And more than a few of them have moved to 3.5, OSR, or other games entirely. Is WOTC just stupid?
>>97204491Everything went to shit without Gygax.
>>97216897Easy to see how it happens. One, they keep stating that the rules are backwards compatible. Two, if you are just surface level searching for resources, pretty much everything you find nowadays without digging is going to be for 2024. If you don't know any better, then you're not going to know to specify which version. And judging by how that post is worded, the groups he is referring to are not people who know each other well enough to talk about it. So when players show up to the session with characters from all over the place, they just shrug and play on without trying to sort it out because it would be awkward
>>97216940I get how it could happen but i was lamenting about a more broad "why?". I lived in the 3.0/3.5e/pf1e shift era (so without the same widespread internet resources about the game as today, comparatively speaking), in that case the system differences are even less than 5e-5.5e but even then it was apparent (with all the people i knew who run the game) that you could cursory introduce different versions content as long as it wasn't system optimized and even then with a modicum of review and only from the DM side. Allowing a player to use a 3.0e build in a 3.5e game was considered inconceivable, the bonus stacking difference alone was glaring like the fucking sun. The absolute lack of system (baseline) knowledge 5efags have is terrifying.
>>97213382Yeah, but one person dickriding a system on /TG/ doesn't mean everyone likes it. Hell, the only thing I need to point out and did is sales for ONE DND. >>97217244Not sure what that anon's workflow is, but you can start right now. There's a bit of a learning curve, but to just kitbash stuff in Blender is pretty easy. Get Blender, learn basic UI, get the files (you can work directly with .stl files), and just do stuff. If you are just printing minis, you don't need to give a fuck about geometry. If you want to just do basic stuff, you can probably do with just a slicer software for the printer. If you want to do complex stuff, you might look into sculpting. Blender sculpting tools are okay and mostly enough, but if you enjoy it, I would recommend pirating ZBrush somewhere. t. 3Dfag
