I've spent the last year, studying, and designing a custom Arthurian set, originally intended to be based on Le Morte d'Arthur (like how P3k was based on Romance of the Three Kingdoms).

However, as I continued to study, and look into different (and some obscure sources) this turned into a much more wider net.

This set, which is no where near finished includes
>Welsh Triads and The Magnibong
>Pre-Vulgate Arthur traditions
>Vulgate/Post Vulgate/Lancelot cycles
>some English/Welsh fairy tales
>and even a bit of the Victorian Arthurian revival (especially for art).

I avoided the Italian and German romances entirely, and tried not to include weird outliners except when needed. Outside of art, nothing is sourced from the 20th century or onward. Also all art is public domain.

I'm mainly posting here for feedback. Some will be art recommendations, flavor text (especially sourced) will be always welcomed.

Hate to say it, but NWO has been the standard now for longer than it wasn't. Non-FIRE design is decidedly earlier and lower power. Christ, some of these cards have drawbacks beyond losing a little life, that would never fly in modern Magic.

Gun to your head, you can only put 5 humanoid/demihuman races in your setting. After those five, you’re done. You chose humans, elves, dwarves, halflings, and ents? No gobbos and orcs for you.

>GM advertises game as a destroyed world by demons and whatever and people trying to live through or retake the world
>sounds good, throw my application in and get in

>yeah choose a region where your noble house was from I'm still working on the details
>his username is some pretentious TheLoreMaster btw

only one GM problem has every truly frustrated me:
>"the campaign will be about [cool concept]"
>every session is actually about [dumb shit]

if the game is about being spies for the king, the very first session of the game should be about spying. it shouldn't be about meeting the king's annoying vizier and then delving into a dungeon to find a spying artifact. Stop intentionally putting filler into your campaigns for god's sake

So the only effective counter to magic in this system is to nullify it with other magic? Jesus, how dreadful. Why does anyone play it?
>>
>>97288933
Other counters include: Blinding them, binding their hands, silencing, removing their components, stopping them from casting, passing saves, getting good

I dont like 5e but confirmation bias is dumb
>>
>>97288877
you moved pieces on a board only you could see and then sprung on them an encounter that they couldn't have prepared for

counterspell is also just unfun shit. interesting turns are a precious commodity in 5E and that's the equivalent of slapping the ball out of someone's hands

>The guys in front are usually tougher and built to take damage, even a moron can understand this.
Reality does not work on video game mechanics. The "guy in the front" is usually the most capable fighter, as he is the one willingly engaging in combat, thus he could fuck your shit up the hardest, thus ignoring him is a dumb idea.

The new year brings new resolutions, inspirations, goals, dreams and half-baked ideas.

>Why should I homebrew?
/tg/ products are fairly unique in that it's actually pretty simple to make them these days, with a plethora of products to assist in making and playtesting your game. Making your own games helps understand why games are made the way they are, as well as being fun to do.

>What you should post
Ideas for games, games you're currently making, updates to your own games in broad strokes, and any homebrewing for existing products that don't get much attention. Discussion about the above is welcome. Post good, be good, and look over others products, they care if someone looks more than anything.

Have you tried homebrewing different types of healing working differently and having different applications?
Maybe I'm making stuff too complicated for the sake of being different.
>>
What is the general consensus on puzzles/riddles? Given how most game sessions are lucky to last a few hours it would be awful to grind the game to a halt for even half an hour to solve a middle school logic problem (god knows how long a more complex one might take). But I still feel like they are something that could be used sparingly.

What if the players beat a skill check/scenario to continue the scene but the puzzle/riddle is introduced as something for more rewards? Hell, let the players continue to the next scene but let them think back to the puzzle and maybe solve it. Would that be a better solution to the past's 'all or nothing' approach?

Glad someone started a new thread.
There’s something I wanted to share.

Remember how I submitted my game to that local game design contest?
I got the initial results on December 24th.

Not only did I make it to the final phase, I actually received the highest tier possible in the rules evaluation.

That means I get to send them a prototype for playtesting, along with the latest version of the rules.
I’m cautiously optimistic about how this will go.

I’ll keep you posted.

Well. We beat the Shin Dragon King. Honestly kind of anti climatic, are super survivor with the adventurer's sword, 5 base Evasion, and the hazmat shield basically soloed him while the rest of the survivors just used headband to push down death descending and walk out of the way of incoming meltdowns. I can see why it's getting buffs in COD.
