>>97299811Bait.
>>97294892>I don't think we talk enough about everyone's edits to the setting or game.If you want to talk about them, I mostly use rules as written (3E the last time I ran), though I play it kind of loose with NPC powers. As for the setting, I remove the Great Curse, have the Guild be mostly a Scavenger Lands organization with some presence in the rest of the East but not in other Directions, and have Peleps run just the Water Fleet rather than the whole Imperial Navy. There are some other things I've changed for my games, but those are the ones that come to my mind right now.Related to that last thing, just why and how the fuck does Peleps even run the Imperial Navy in the first place? Letting a single House dominate the navy of an island nation that absolutely needs said navy to project power in the Threshold seems like an incredibly bad idea, and it also seems wildly out of character for the Empress, who's otherwise put in a lot of effort into making sure that no House or individual is in too strong a position. Sure, creation of V'Neef makes it clear that the Empress herself was worried about Peleps getting too powerful, but that doesn't make the fact that Peleps runs the Navy by Imperial remit in the first place any less nonsensical.
>>97299811Not that guy. I'm fine with challenging, even unrealistically surmountable enemies as early as E1. I specifically take issue to Gajam-un breaking a conceit they felt necessary to establish with sorcery without a good justification. It's a jumble of Primordial organs crudely welded onto a manse, it should be more killable than the Primordials, not less.
>>97300874I think taking away the Imperial Fleet from House Peleps causes more narrative problems than it fixes. Their position in canon comes from their control of the navy. Controlling the entire navy gives them too much power, but if they only control the Water Fleet then they would be too weak.My best justification is that the Empress knew that while she was alive she knew that she could control House Peleps by limiting their access to the imperial army or taking away the fleet if necessary. You could also say that the Empress gave House Peleps much fewer satrapies than the other houses, so they were completely dependent on the imperial fleet.
>>97300911>It's a jumble of Primordial organs crudely welded onto a manse, it should be more killable than the Primordials, not less. What makes you think the Primordials were so easily killable in 3e?

>>97300349I wish I could get the opposite and slap Item qualities on things I made myself. It's a bummer when you make a cool starship or underground base and you realize you can't take it with you since it doesn't fit in the warehouse.
>>97300404Unfortunately, for that you'll need to go to SB's Generic First Jump. Or Reddit's new Essential Body Modification Supplement. Or Demon the Fallen, if you only wanna bring a single item along with you and don't mind it being ensouled
>>97300404Recettear, iirc.
>>97300089Katanagatari had a 400CP perk for mitigating this iirc.
I'm a successful gamemaster and that's it. It's all I've ever been good at, ngl. I've run a 12 year campaign, a 9 year dragonlance campaign and my forgotten realms games is turning 41 this year (I started it when I turned 14) and yet, I've never been able to parlay any of this into any real success in the real world. My players still talk about all my games to this day. I'm miserable. I'm going to die alone and penniless. All that work, countless hours, wasted. I'll never amount to anything but dungeonsimulator 3000. No one gives a single, solitary fuck. My kids used to love to play rpgs with me are now too tired, too burnt out by the world, to care. All my friends are busy with marriages, jobs and kids. The thing is, even outside of a game, I care about all of these people. They ask me about a game all the time but when it comes time to actually play, no one can be bothered. Ig my time for all of this is done. I still love reading about it but I haven't made any oc in at least a year. My last game was meticulously planned and it went well but when it ended, that was it. No feedback, no atta boy, no joy, nothing. How do you guys cope with it?
>>97300550>playing dragonlance with autistic dragonlance fags is impossiblebegone no games nigger jew
>>97299741>My kidsYou've already won life, op.
>>97299741>12 year campaignMy kids would hate me too. I hope you die alone, sad and decrepit.
>>97300886no u
>>97299741I think some people make a living being a paid professional dungeon master. That could be something to look into, even though I understand that the main reason you did it is to bring joy to your friends and family, and it wouldn't be the same doing it for random people that pay you money to do it. But, at least, that could be a way to make money with your skills, and if you somehow pivoted into making a good youtube production with your games (getting help from people that know that stuff), that could also start something that can get you more ways to get money, through merchandise, sponsorships, what have you.
Time to talk about weird monsters again. As usual, any rants about Bog will be treated as bait unless you have actual proof.
>>97299654Buddy you do know that the art being used is from the publically available archive of monsters on Bog's website that anyone can grab, and that as long as you have a copy of the book you can make up stats and bullshit for any monster you want because thats one of the core systems. On top of that, Bog doesn't even handle the stats, that's Bonnie's job.
>>97299792In fact, Bog himself has stated several times over that much of the mechanical shit in the book (and several creatures even) weren't done by him. He did the art and most of the text, and the rest is being done by both the company publishing it and people he trusts.
>>97300245Yeah I think he's exclusively a lore and art guy, everything else is someone else.I think thats why it took 10000 years to get finished, since a couple times people picked up the gameplay but then left/died.
>>97300441Yeah, he posted the development history on his website but basically it was gonna be a Neopets type game, then a pen and paper RPG that would be hosted under Cat Powered Raygun Studios (which basically collapsed), and eventually into what got released this Halloween.
>>97298472This one is really cool, but, it bothers me that it can't close the outer jaws all the way because of the smaller teeth.
Why does GW keep releasing downgrades of their old models?
>>97297201Flying + action pose + digital cloak + tactical scarab swarm is overdoing it.One or two of the above would have been fine but all four just looks silly.
>>97298330saaaaaar beautiful necron feets saar
>>97297201digivolving cloak and the scarabs really look out of place
>>97298644>>97298730>>97297358>digicloakOk fair, it is the new necron vibe and you either like it or you dont. Cleaning mold lines off that must suck balls.
>>97297201I liked how the old model has the shroud and scythe meld into the more "organic" parts of the model, as if it's just an illusion a mortal mind can comprehend. The new model is esdentially using its tools and is covered by necron shit.

I fucking love this thing
This is a second OSRG, seperate from the main osrg thread, where you CAN talk about 2e, retroclones, and any osr content you want. This is different than the regular osrg as due to rampant trolling from a handful of bad actors, discussion is impossible.>Troves, Resources, Blogs, etc:http://pastebin.com/9fzM6128>Starter Dungeonshttps://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/86342023/#q86358321PREVIOUS THREAD>>97226728
I've seen a few posts on various OSR blogs with interesting game mechanisms, (I remember being impressed with underclock die) but I've never really gotten into one blog in particular, are there any that anons here recommend?
>>97300859>I remember being impressed with underclock die
>>97300786Definitely in solo play, but in a single player game (I mean one player, one GM) you could also reveal the map slowly, I think.
>>97300869>absolutely gagging for underclock die
>>97300859To be generous to the underclock, it's a gimmick that was invented by someone without the desire to ever play past lvl 5 (he put that in his shitbrew, forced retirement if you get too much xp). There are many more interesting ways to make the game interesting without turning the random enounter rate into it's own mini game. >reccomendationsIt's not a blog but the dmg is literally stuffed full of interesting game mechanisms that no one ever talks about. I'm not big on blogs friend, sorry. Maybe someone else can help you out.
What are some of the things Savage Worlds does well?
>>97299968this >>97300737>it is much better at Pathfinder than Pathfinder is.And D&D i would add, the rationale here is that SW compliments a specific playstyle and genre (action packed heroics) that a lot of d&d groups clash with due to d&d being more focused on skirmish and attrition making any deviation from that well oiled machine feel dissociated at best (when rules exist) or completely arbitrary at worst (the DM intervening through exception based rulings like applying "rule of cool" because the rulesystem actively works against those situational contexts).A good example of that is for example Brancalonia (that i'm actually working in making a sw conversion), where they made a new subsystem for tavern brawls, which, by my players words, feels completely dissociated from the standard game and overtly mechanized.
>>97299968It's good at starting arguments because the 2 people that like it get extremely defensive over its (many) flaws.
>>97300838I like SW but i would be the first in line in calling it a clunky ass piece of shit when dissecting it's individual mechanics (picrel for example), i just feel that, for some reason, it's great when taken as a whole. The damn thing just werks.
>>97299968It is easy enough to apply to whatever setting you want. Main issue is that most recent supplements have gotten worse over the years. Any edge has been filed off.
I ran my first game of SW ever to two people who only play vidya and paint figurines and to one completely normal non-nerd woman, and everyone involved had a great time and the non-nerd was actually on top of the combat rules and applied hindrances where it fit. Went so well I'll have two more normies to wrangle for next session.I'd say it's fantastic!

Life is a choice gameAnd would you rather is the lowest, most redditish form of cyoaThe highest form of cyoa gameplay is contemplationWe contemplate waifus, contemplate weapons and strategiesAnd unlike other names, the emphasis on contemplation is really a thing we do differently from literally every other type of gameSo, I would like to ask that "Contemplation Game" is added to the list of names this general might haveThanks, love you <3-Anon

Why the fuck are you all paying so much attention to the jew-jitsu guy? He's a retard for trying to pick through a wishing well and his GM is a retard for trying to fall him for it, justice would've been "make a swim check not to drown in your heavy armor, on success you manage to pry it off and it joins the coins at the bottom."
