>Be me.
>Lord General of the Nordican 1225th/ defacto governor of Nordica II.
>For the last few years we've been abandoned by the wider Imperium to an ice world that very much resembles our home.
>In that time we've constructed the city of New Yur.
>A sprawling metropolis surrounded by a network of trenches visible from orbit dug by the kriegers and valhallans.
>We've also made more or less peace with the orks we were originally sent here to fight, and even made alliances with the ruinous powers, but those truces only last for one day a year.
>A day that is fast approaching.
>Candlemass brings peace, but also war to Nordica II every year without fail.
>This year however the orks have decided to convert the former colloseum constructed by khorne worshipers in the ruins of a space hulk that crashed here into an arena for a sport they're apparently calling "Blood Bowl."
>I will be attending the first of these games on Candlemass day, which is set to pit greenskins against some surviving khorne worshipers they've captured.
>Emperor willing this will be the beginning of true peace to our world.
>But knowing Candlemass that seams unlikely and I'll be waiting the whole time for some new threat to emerge.

>Be Shisrak the Chill Bloodletter
>Still hanging out in the guest room of Khorne’s Palace with the daemonettes.
>Still trying to figure out why there is a murder robot ripping a part the Blood Bowl game I wanted to watch.
>In theory I should be helping out the surviving tribals that I encouraged to play the Blood Bowl game to begin with, but let’s be honest, those guys are fucked.
>Some of the daemonettes have set up one of those magic mirror things, you know, the ones that let you see anywhere in the universe, and has a frame made up of naked, mutilated, and violated individuals of all species and genders, shrunk down and transformed into gold.
>There is something they apparently find very funny.
>I look over and see an image of a daemonette unwrapping a present which contains a sex doll that looks like me.
>I growl a bit as one of the daemonettes in the room with me makes a joke about how I will soon have a story about things being shoved in my bum after all.
>I recognize the daemonette in the image as Brittany who I met at last year’s gift exchange. She works for Cummissar Analstasia, which means the image is probably in the lobby of her Exmus Hot Springs Resort lair.
>I teleport over there with a little extra special Khornemas magic, and then slice off Brittany’s head in one swing.
>Don’t worry Brittany fans, she will reform in the Warp in a few hours, I am sure we will share a laugh about this at next year’s gift exchange, but you need to set a few boundaries when dealing with daemonettes.
>Now what to do with the sex doll version of me?
>I don’t want to bring it back to Khorne’s Palace with me, and I don’t want to chop up an effigy of myself like a petulant child while daemonettes watching in the magic mirror.
>>
>>97236831
>There is a volcanic vent leading to a magma chamber not far from here though, if I say a few solemn words and chuck it in there it will at least keep the daemonettes guessing as to whether I genuinely lost my cool or if I am just enforcing the rules.
>For some reason the Candlemas/Slaaneshmas music in the lobby is really loud, so I don’t realize something was taking place outside until I start walking down the front steps of the hotel carrying the sex doll version of myself and see “Lord” Sobek standing outside looking slightly confused and troubled.
>Khorne damn it, that robobitch collects daemons like Misty collects Pokemon, but at least she doesn’t fuck them afterwards like Misty does, I think...
“Uh, this is not what it looks like”
>I drop the doll and draw my sword.
“Let’s just fight and forget about the whole doll thing"
>There are two blinks of light and gift wrapped presents appear in front of me and Sobek.
>I guess now I know what mortals feel like when they get caught up in Slaaneshmas shenanigans.

>Be Sergeant Ivana Semenov, 74465th Valhallan, Recon company 32E
>The big war machine sits on a platform that is slowly rising up from somewhere beneath the playing field
>I am still not sure what to do about it
>Natalya taps me on the shoulder, and shows me what is clearly an extremely large dildo wrapped like a Candlemas gift
>It clearly says on the tag: “To Natalya of Valhalla, from Ivana”
>As I shift my feet to get a better look, my boot bumps up against something, and I realize there is a small present at my feet, tagged: “To Ivana, from Natalya”
>Natalya grinning like this whole thing is a big joke, and for a second I wonder whether Natalya planted both presents prior to us arriving here, as she was the one who suggested coming here, and the dildo is too big for her to have sneaked in when I was with her, but nah, Natalya is not that smart, and she wouldn’t have come up with a scheme that started on the assumption that I would be the one to come pick her up after she got caught fighting the Tallarn
>Besides, now that I have had a second to look around, there are plenty of other people in the arena now holding presents as well
>Right.....
>How could I have forgotten this is the time of year where we get our annual dose of extreme weirdness?
>Like the time two years ago where was I teleported into a Slaaneshi love nest

>Okay, I have had enough of this planet. If I am still here next Candlemas, I am barricading myself in a remote location for at least 24 hours before and after Candlemas
>Fireworks and pyrotechnic effects go off, loud music starts blaring, a stampede of squigs rushes the field, and armed Orks start falling from the sky
>The Orks that survive the fall open fire on us, as do the Orks already in the arena
>I guess the Orks planned this all along, who could have possibly foreseen that the Orks would one day betray us? (extreme sarcasm)
>And then there are flashes of light all across the arena and now there are hundreds of Necron scattered throughout the stands and on the playing field. They have three large vehicles with them on the playing field, which look like floating pyramids that are splitting up into four pieces but are still connected by tubes
>Okay, I didn’t see that coming, however I do remember rumors of Necron being spotted at last year’s Candlemas battle, but most people chalked them up on misidentifications of Dark Mechanicus devices, which were definitely present
>No girl in their right mind visits the New Yur slums without at least a few back-up pieces, and I have two snub nosed revolvers, my bayonet, three switchblades, and my lucky wrench hidden in various places, but those won’t do much against an Ork, and won’t do anything against a Necron
>I draw both revolvers anyways in case we come across some hostile Gretchin or cultists, and then yell “snowmobiles” at Natalya to indicate we should get the hell out of here
>Since we showed up late, we are parked at the edge of the sea of vehicles clustered around the arena, so we should be good if we can get to them, which is a big if
>And after that, make our way back to the Valhallan before the Commissars and senior officers notice we are missing, and prepare for the inevitable counterattack the Valhallan regiments will launch now that Ork is back on the menu

Holy shit they're so dumb. There's a chance for someone in my group to be inflicted with Mummy Rot, if it ever gets far enough. I might have to have a convo with my group about actually... interacting with me between sessions, since stuff opens up much wider from here on.

This was the only time I had to break character in the campaign in order to keep it going. Frost was down to 9 hp because he was tanking the mummies and Ferris due to his retard self was down to 6 hp and 2 con. Arrianne could've easily killed both of them with Lulu being the only witness. Just weeks before we entered the tomb of Hellriders both Frost and Ferris bullied, harassed and threatened to kill Arrianne in various ways.

/TG/ DEVELOPED A GAME
IT IS PLAYABLE. IT HAS BEEN PLAYED.
EXPEDITION is a ~1880s era, Jules Verne-inspired retro-futurist, underground blood soaked adventurescape.
It is a Skirmish wargame. Two players with their own expeditions, on a hexgrid map, explore & fight each other for victory and profit.

3 versions of the rules exist, 2 of which have been playtested. The main one is 2e, to be found :

Maharaha's Orders of Royalty seems expensive even with this Leader's relatively high leadership. Reducing both the LP pool and the cost of the ability might be advisable.

Do the hero abilities that grant leadership give LP to non-leader units?

The Fleshy Hound's Uncontrollable pain rule seems similar to Frenzy. It might be simpler to use a variation of that one

The Sepoy Officer's Lemurian Armour should probably have Gas Mask. That's a running gag with Lemurian armour from the chart.

The Sepoy Trooper could probably have bayonet training since the BAP does

Hatred (Structure) on the siege elephant is genius

Giving tigers hide could be hilariously broken but also very thematic. It might be best not to.

>Maharaha's Orders of Royalty seems expensive
Would it be better if the maharaha had 4 Leadership and the ability costed 2 LD?

>Dominion over passions
I was thinking of it applying to any unit that did have leadership actions. Regular troops wouldn't benefit.

>The Fleshy Hound's Uncontrollable pain rule seems similar to Frenzy
I'll check that one.

>The Sepoy Officer's Lemurian Armour should probably have Gas Mask
Sure, I'll add it. Would it also apply to the lemurian sharpshooter, even if it is a heretic?

>Sepoy Trooper could probably have bayonet training
That's fair. I'll add it.

Also, this reminds me that the "Exotic Spy" needs the "Diplomat" keyword.

Changes added for now.

>Sepoy Trooper
It got "Bayonet Training" trait.

>Sepoy Officer
The "Lemurian Armour" trait also gets the "Gas mask" trait (why is it a trait and not an item?)

>Exotic Spy
Added the "Diplomat" keyword.

Questions:
>Lemurian Sharpshooter
If the character is a lemurian heretic, how can it work with prophecies? How could we make a trait that counters them?

Only if your Pope is the head of a small group or if it's pretty high level stuff. It would be kino recruiting a Pope for a dire situation mid adventure and then he retires to journey with you.
>>
>>97227812
I realize it does come off kind of stream of conscious. To summarize here, in recruiting a church member you intend on being a Cleric, the only real choice is a priest. If you're aiming for someone of a higher rank, it should either be under a dire situation or like an end of campaign recruitment.
On the other hand, the friar classes should be for church members that are not using traditional holy magic, so like a church assassin in a particularly edgy church or a church-aligned fighter or monk.

vortex resonance could have been such a good card if it was just 1 less on its cost/effect so it was easier to use
its just a strictly worse scramble and its even more baffling of a card since JP got scrambles before they got vortex resonance, we at least for resonance before scrambles and it was still awful.

it basically only working on lvl 6's, so you already have your entire line, and even then only some 6's just makes it so much worse
if it was at least 2 cost 3 redu like scramble you can use it to go into a 5 as an extra search (or even a 4 just to use it solely as a search) which would have made it actually a functional card since liberator decks really did/do need the search.

digimon liberator (the card) also was not a bad idea but was just a bit clumsy and it was far easier to just play draw eggs or run a bunch of consistency cards since the decks are mostly mono color than bother running it. if it worked like DGO (3 cost, search, then you can play a lvl 3 or a tamer with the cost reduced by 3) it would have been a lot better of a card and more interesting.
squandered potential but it is what it is

I wasn't expecting to be named. What is this? I am, very slowly, catching up, but the other MPs do have more of my attention since I have a better idea of what I can do in there. As part of the narrative I mean, genre wise I am more familiar with persona than with xianxia.
I am surprised you even considered it, I was sure Liren was considered dead until I write something for him.
>>
>>97237037
Liren has to have a face-off with Yae and Kaoru for a full-on Death Note episode.

I can't wait to abuse pysics to skip over the water like a stone and reach escape velocity. We need to wait a bit for the travel, but we do have a surplrisingly good cast for ocean exploration.
Not all of the monsters that live up there can fly, and gravity is still one of the biggest dangers of any game. We still need to level up a lot, because most of our people also can't fly.
>>
>>97237056
Those are 2 characters I actually know a bit about. I'm not sure what the conflict would be in that case? He doesn't have a reason to bear a grudge on them, and they probably don't even know he exists. Would either of them hate him on sight for some reason?
Someone still remembers what sort of character he is, surprising. Maybe I can take advantage of the slow times during the festivities to get something out for him. I also need to find a better image for his idolon, even if the current one is technically accurate because of the mission he took.
>>
>>97237125
I mean, Liren stuck out to me in general for several reasons, but as one of two (now three) people with a SHSL Detective of course I was gonna remember. I only proposed the idea because it seemed funny, but Liren wasn't a bad guy from what I remember so oh well. I don't remember him doing anything bad but I'm sure we can find some kind of excuse for them to meet, either to collaborate or be at odds

TTRPGs are a social game first and foremost. That means there's unspoken rules that vary from group-to-group, but a common one is "acceptable breaks from sensibility" in the name of game experience or table cohesion. It's the kind of thing that keeps the bitter rivalry between the Elf and the Dwarf largely to amusing banter and not outright PvP. It's an innate instinct: nobody likes to spoil the atmosphere, because that's a large part of the appeal of a good game (alongside the freedom).

That being said, there are also times when the group's course of action is patently retarded and you can't meaningfully push back on it without feeling like you'd cause a big fight over nothing (and then feel obligated to keep comrades away from the consequences), or something a character cannot abide has to be "sanded over" somewhat, or you as the GM don't want to cultivate the feeling that you're antagonizing your players by hitting them over the head with "you murdered someone because it was convenient and didn't even take measures to cover your tracks" or whatever unhinged misadventure occurred because something about the player position of the table cause human beings to lose IQ.

Have you ever had that feeling? I think I see enough greentexts to think it's common.

That's only when you're dealing with sane human beings. The stupid ones I'm talking about will take your insistence that there's nothing there as a sign you're hiding something from them, and insist to the point of being intentionally stupid on checking for signs of something that doesn't exist.

That's either when you tell them in specific detail how much time they're wasting, or "pretend" they "outsmarted you".

Fang Dragons are fucking sick.
I'm this close to slapping the Sanctified template on one and making it my Dragon Cohort.
>>
>>97237208
Funny, I'm gonna slap the Lolth Touched template on one and use it as the boss encounter of a one shot I'm planning. Unless I like one of the other options better. Its possible that constitution drain is gonna be too much paperwork for my noobish compatriots.

GURPS is a modular, adaptable system, capable of running a wide range of characters, settings, and play styles, with a level of detail varying from lightweight to completely autistic.
Optional rules allow you to emulate different genres with a single system, or even switch genres within a single game.

A nearly complete archive of GURPS books can be found by using the image. Never post direct links to the archive anywhere in plain text.

If you're wondering where to start:
- The Basic Set covers everything, including a lot of optional rules you probably won't use.
- A genre guide can be found in the archive, under Unofficial/GURPSgen. It tells you what extra books and articles you may find useful for many common genres.
- How To Be a GURPS GM is a good read even for players.
- GCS (gurpscharactersheet.com) is an excellent character-builder software, with page references to all the books and the option to export to both Foundry and Fantasy Grounds.

Thread question: How often do you use an official GURPS setting? Which are your favorites?

This is a second OSRG, seperate from the main osrg thread, where you CAN talk about 2e, retroclones, and any osr content you want.
This is different than the regular osrg as due to rampant trolling from a handful of bad actors, discussion is impossible.

Didn't run BFRPG specifically, but here are my 2 cents
hexcrawls are driven by two things, random encounters and rumors. Monkey Isle seems to have a boring random encounter table, too much rolling for encounters (roughly 3 times the amount compared to the original Isle of Dread), and lacks a rumor table.
The latter is a game killer on such a giant map. Players need to have rumors to direct them towards points of interest. My advice is to think how are you going to handle it. You can make a random rumor table yourself or have specific rumors about several close by POIs prepared which are going to get presented to players in village X or Y.

PS
Don't listen to the BFRP hater

Actually do listen to the hater, because this isn't an echo chamber and if you're going to be posting on 4chan of all places you should be expecting to hear all sides.

I know one game about that, enemies instead of killing bondage you. And you can make same in return using relevant skill trees, like rope magic, goo magic and etc, besides regular hit hard as warrior or throw firebals as mage.

Understandable, not even as an observer then. I'll take my Nebula Class SD and Stalwart Class Battlecarrier to fuck off into Wild Space. I wish you luck for the rolls to come.
